Your map app will direct you to the Melstrand Union General Store, when you arrive at the store there is a wooden fence on the east side of the building. At the end of the fence there is a driveway leading back towards the woods, just before the dumpster at the end you will see a brown cabin to your left. There is a single door on the north side of the building, that is the entrance. Please reach out to Ariana if you are having difficulty locating the cabin.
This cabin is brand new with everything you'll need after a long day of hiking, fishing, riding the trails, or exploring the beautiful Pictured Rocks National Lake Shore. It is walking distance from the Melstrand Union General Store where you can not only find gas but also snacks, hand scooped ice cream, baked goods (made fresh daily), sandwiches, and so much more!
We look forward to being a part of your UP experience!

Cozy place very nice only thing that I didn’t like was the shower took forever to get hot after in the shower it would get cold and only 1 person could shower had to wait for more hot water
Was there for snowmobile trip, only stayed 1.5 days of my planned 3 day trip, due to the incoming blizzard. Overall the place was nice. Only issue is the snowmobile trailer parking they advertise. Well its no good, and you can barely get to it with how they plow the snow. and once I was back there it was hard to get turned around and get back out. They do have ample parking, but where they want you to park you trailer just isint going to work. I think they should revisit their plans for parking, but otherwise a nice place to stay.

Our host was very friendly. The cabin is nice qnd clean and makes for a perfect stay in the beautiful upper peninsula.
Great place to stay. It was cozy and had everything we needed. Close to the snowmobile trail and gas is available at the general store during the day. We will definitely stay here again. The only issue we had was that the shower needs a higher water flow head. It wouldn't turn the water heater on by itself so we had to run a sink as well to get hot water. Not a big deal though

Quiet getaway and Mother Nature cooperated to see the Northern Lights!
The location to nearby attractions was ideal; however, the shower temperature would fluctuate considerably and the heater did not work. We did appreciate the coziness and simplicity of the cabin.

This was very conveniently located and clean. However it had a bad odor and the kitchen was very sparsely furnished…only a microwave, refrigerator, coffee pot and 2 mugs. It was fine for our needs as we spent the day in Pictured Rocks or the town of Munising and just needed a place to shower and sleep.
This is a simple little cabin in the UP with a good location to Pictured Rocks area. We found it basic and reasonably priced for a couple of nights for us to enjoy the area. We appreciated the short stay opportunity and great communication with the owner/renter.
Size and amenities were as expected. Host/property manager was very communicative and responded to all inquiries very quickly. It was cold in the property with no way to increase the temperature inside. Shower water was mostly cold which was not ideal over a rainy, cool weekend.

Great place to lay your head after a long day chasing waterfalls!
Overall it’s a nice place to stay in proximity to pictured rocks, hiking, and Munising. I’m not one to complain so I didn’t reach out but the cabin has a smell of either garbage or maybe a dead animal somewhere. After spending a day in the fresh air, walking into the cabin almost took your breath away-the smell was very bad. I would recommend the place if they can get the smell taken care of.
My wife and I stayed here for a few nights on our honeymoon. We wanted a place near Pictured Rocks as we planned to go kayaking. The cabin was in between the two ends of the park and gave convenient access to everything in between.
This property is exactly what we were looking for for our UP snowmobile trip. A store with ethanol free gas was on site at this property. Cabin was clean and beds were comfortable. Trail access was literally across the road. Grand Marais, Seney and Paradise trails were excellent and easy to access from this property. Will book here again for next trip.
The place was just what we wanted. Location is fantastic about halfway between Munising and Grand Marais. It was only about a mile from the Mosquito Falls/Chappel Rock loop we most wanted to hike.
