About this property

Log Cabin on Saltwater Cove

This log cabin in the woods is on a gorgeous salt water tidal cove!  Enjoy deer, squirrels, birds, eagles, turkeys and more from the deck!  How about grilling you dinner on the gas grill and eating in the treetops under the sun?  Take a canoe ride to fish or see the views from the water, and warm up at night in front of the wood stove!
The cabin is wonderfully secluded--many locals don't know it is here, with no neighbors but deer and the occasional eagle flying overhead.
There is a canoe and life preservers provided. Use the wheeled trolley to help you with the canoe up and down the path if you would like! The path is on the property, and is about a 2 minute walk to the water. It is a tidal cove, so check the tide charts for tides.

Bedroom 1:  Queen sized bed, storage and wood floors
Bedroom 2:  Queen sized bed, child's bed (suitable up to a 10 year old)
Loft:  Day bed with a trundle that makes 2 twin size beds.
There is Wifi at the house. New on this road, it is not powerful for working from home but it is great for checking emails, etc. The wifi is spotty.
It is a short drive to local lobster merchants, wonderful hiking and swimming in pristine lakes.  Feel free to take our canoe out for a paddle in the cove, or head out at low tide so that you can do some clamming in the front of the property.  At the end of the day, take a moment to sit by the wood burning stove. It is a great place to explore the limitless relaxation and recreational opportunities of Downeast and Acadia.  ., about a 18 mile drive to Mount Desert Island and Acadia National Park.  It is also about a 15 minute drive to the Schoodic Peninsula.
Ellsworth:  8 mile drive to Shaws, Hannafords, Walmart, Renys, LLBean Outlet, Walgreens,  restaurants, shopping, antiquing, theatre, and more.
Hancock:  4 miles, Carters Beach, clay tennis courts, kayak tours, sailing, Crocker house restaurant, Ruth and Wimpies restaurant, Chippers

Every day an adventure

The woods and the sea together, overwhelmed with the things to see and experience. Love the stars at night. You're able to see the bands of the milky way. Kids loved the vhs tapes.

A piece of heaven

My family stayed here for three nights and we had a wonderful visit. The cabin was so clean and cozy and the wood burning stove helped warm us up from our cold hike. The property manager (Susan) was so kind and helpful and she answered all our questions.

Beautiful spot in beautiful Maine

Highly suggest staying on this property. You're far away from other humans, but you're a short drive to so many parts of Acadia. The cabin itself is clean, plenty of space for the 3 of us; nice kitchen; beautiful porch with a great view of the stars! The beds are comfortable and the overall space is great!

Cozy cabin in the woods.

Located on the quiet side of Acadia near the Schoodic Peninsula, this cabin is the perfect location to explore the more off the beaten path side of the park, as well as a perfect retreat from the crowds. Rustic and cozy, the wrap around porch and deck with grill are awesome additions. We will be sure to stay here in the future.

The cabin was fantastic and provided a very secluded vacation experience.

We found the property and the rental process to be very enjoyable. It was our first trip to Maine and it was outstanding. We found it very easy to get to all of our destinations from Bar Harbor to Schoodic Point and all places in between. Enjoy all of the aspects of the areas typical tourist opportunities without lodging around the tourists. We highly recommend this property and management company for anyone visiting the area.

Relaxing secluded getaway

I had a wonderful time at this cabin, and it was just what I needed to destress and relax. The property is beautiful and convenient to a number of good restaurants, bakeries, lobster purveyors, and excellent places to take in nature. I had a number of excellent nights reading next to a cozy fire while listening to the sound of silence and I could not recommend it enough

Neat little cabin in the woods…

Quite secluded which is nice. Didn’t spend much time around the property as we spent most of our time in Acadia. House is fully equipped. Property manager is responsive and kind.

Briney breezes

All the comforts of home, and even better. Was a little disappointed on the path to the cove. Did not attempt taking the canoe down as it would be difficult. Other than that, everything was perect!

Maine Cabin

Great place to stay for a family of 5, including 2 teenagers. The cabin is very nice and cozy. It was clean and we felt right at home. It looks just like pictures online and even better in person. It had everything we needed except for an iron. One thing that was inconvenient was that there wasn’t a place to put the garbage outside the house and had to take it to public dumpsters. Also, this cabin is about 50 min from Bar Harbor and Acadia. Overall, our stay was wonderful and I definitely this place.

Lovely secluded cabin.

We loved our stay here. The cabin was in great shape and a clean. Kitchen was well stocked. The cabin is in a nice secluded area surrounded by woods. You can here a bit of road noise from time to time, but not so much it's take away from the quiet privacy. You have to go down a dirt road to get here, so low riding cars might have a hard time. The walk down to the water was easy enough for a person, but getting the canoe to the water and back would have be really difficult, so we opted not to use it. Don't count on the internet for reliability if you're going to try and use it for work. Overall, I would love to stay here again.

Peaceful and private location with everything you need.

This peaceful and private cabin was hands down the best equipped vacation home we have stayed in. From towels and linens to a fully stocked kitchen - utensils and food - we found everything we needed. The lovely wrap-around porch was ideal for eating meals, reading books and enjoying the bird calls. A perfect location to explore Acadia and Schoodic Peninsula - by bike or car. The added bonus was having our dog on vacation - even his needs were met with dog toys, food/water bowls and windows to enjoy the sites and sounds of nature. The cabin has water access and a canoe for use - beware of the tidal highs and lows - but bring binoculars for the birds you will see. While there is no wifi at the cabin we had LTE but didn't miss the time away from our devices as we cooked in the kitchen and explored the beauty of Maine.

Secluded cabin perfect for couple

My husband and I had a wonderful time at this very private cozy cabin along a tidal river near the Schoodic area of Acadia. The property manager was very responsive and checked in with us when she heard the power went out for half day during a storm. It was great to have a washer/dryer on the premises, and a well stocked kitchen with all the spices you might need for cooking. We couldn't resist going out three nights in a row however after day hikes at the National Park and a beer at a great little brewpub in Ellswoth (Fogtown Brewery) to a fantastic lobster pound not far from the cabin where we ate unbelievably affordable lobster tail dinners, as well as clams and mussels caught daily in the sound. Our standard poodles loved frolicking leash free on the grassy area near the cabin. We were sad to leave and would gladly stay again on another trip to the Acadia NP area.

Exceeded our expectations

First point to mention, we had to adjust our dates due to the ongoing pandemic and they were more than accommodating. Susan happily moved us from May to October, and worked with our schedules. Seeing the pictures, we had high hopes for the cabin, and upon arrival, we were blown away! The cabin had the perfect amount of privacy mixed with a warm and cozy feeling you always imagine a cabin to have. It was a short ride to downtown Ellsworth where you can grocery shop, try new local restaurants and find all your needs. The short 45 minute ride to Bar Harbor made this a great location, including the beautiful foliage of autumn. A big plus for us was being able to take our two dogs on vacation, and they loved the cabin just as much as we did! We would unquestionably recommend to anyone looking at this cabin and will certainly be staying again in the future. Thanks for the great hospitality and opportunity for us to make new memories.

Cozy getaway

We loved the quiet getaway this cabin provided. It was very clean. We were able to easily explore Acadia (both MDI and the Schoodic peninsula) from here. The location is quiet and the porch is so peaceful! We loved the chairs out there. Our hosts were quick to respond when the dishwasher ran all night and pooled water. There was a light flickering in the bathroom, but we found that the vanity lights gave off the same amount of light (we did not contact the hosts since it was not a big deal to us). There were plenty of towels. We always look for cabins with spiral staircases, so we were excited this one had one! Just be very careful around it because it is a tight squeeze between the bedroom entrances and the bathroom entrance (I'm 5'1" for reference.) My kids hit their heads multiple times walking under the steps. We would have loved an extra chair or two at the kitchen table, since the cabin sleeps 6 but there were only 4 chairs. (There might have been additional chairs in the basement, but we didn't look. We tried pulling up a rocking chair, but it was too tight.) The guestbook provides lots of helpful local recommendations for anything you might need in the area, as well as helpful information about the cabin. We ventured down to the water once, but didn't attempt to bring the canoe down. Thank you so much for sharing your cabin with us!

Cute cabin with a wonderful deck to relax on. Beautiful, peaceful location with lots of privacy and trees but still convenient to many attractions. A bit of a hike downhill to the water which "peeks" through the trees, so we didn't try the canoe. An FYI for anyone who has to have workable internet, you will learn to "unplug" as the wifi was non-existent unless you tether to your phone. Cell service was just fine. We definitely got to unwind here!
