This was amazing place to be for a serene atmosphere and over looking the mountains!! It had the things needed for a great getaway! Would stay there again. Loved looking for Elk and going on hiking adventures.
We enjoyed staying here and riding to Wilderness Rider Buffalo Ranch. Our trailer was safe while we were gone riding. Everything was just as advertised. It was great and we will definitely stay again!
Our family of four loves nature and getting away from it all. This cabin was a perfect fit for us. With its unique amenities and gracious hosts, we were able to leave all the business behind and enjoy each other and our surroundings.
This cabin was just as expected from the online description. It was exceptionally clean. The hosts were so very friendly and awesome to work with! We were close to all the activities we planned- kayaking the Buffalo, hiking trails, and seeing Elk. We will definitely be back!!
The Ranch House was the perfect cabin for a weekend getaway. Our entire trip was planned around the Buffalo Rider Wilderness Ranch. It is just 4 miles away and we road to and from the cabin to the Ranch. The property is extremely peaceful and clean. Eric and Ashlee were AMAZING hosts! They were always quick to answer questions and help us with anything we needed. We would love to come back and stay!
Great location, private setting, and excellent view. We stayed here for the Totality Eclipse and we were not disappointed! The cabin is beautifully decorated and has everything we needed. The cabin was exceptionally clean and we had plenty of towels! lol We enjoyed the fire pit and the brand new grill with comfy seating and a picnic table. Several herds of elk came thru behind the cabin and were awesome to watch. The owners responded quickly to any questions we had and were very helpful with directions and area attractions, hikes and river accesses. Thank you Ashlee & Eric, we will definitely be back!!
The host was very helpful within check-in and making the whole process easy. Nice little cabin right near some riding / Hiking trails. Highly recommend this place if your looking to stay near this area. Only downfall was no wifi at the cabin. I had minimal service throughout the weekend. But to be expected when your in the middle of no where.
We enjoyed our stay at the property. Hosts are very communicate and hospitable. Eric and Ashlee went above and beyond to make our stay great! The property is very secluded and there's a farm behind the cabins. You will wake up to beautiful sunrises and the sound of mooing cows; stargaze as herding dogs do their job protecting their cattle. The herding dogs are free to roam around so visited us many times throughout the day, which I LOVED! I considered kidnapping them... You are in the country so beware of bugs and spiders. Unfortunately my mom got bit, but that's not something the host has control of. Again, it's the country! There was a first aid kit available at the cabin. Overall we had a great stay and if we find ourselves back in the Ozarks, we will stay at Elkhorn again!
Had a great time with family. Saw elk, rode ATVs. Even got some snow! The place was neat as a pen and had everything that we needed! Thank you Eric and Ashlee for providing such a cute place to stay!
Our first time staying in a tiny house and it did not disappoint. It is very well laid out and well built and had everything you need. We enjoyed the firepit outside and being on a farm. It was close to all the activities we wanted to do. The hosts were very easy to reach and great at sharing ideas for our stay. We saw elk both evenings we drove over to Ponca/Boxley (15-20 minute drive), it is a fun activity that lots of people do when visiting the area. Lots of great hiking trails and we also rented an ATV at the Wilderness center about 5 miles away and loved exploring the 3,000 acres there.
Came here for a short getaway and to kayak the buffalo river. The cabin was perfect for the 4 of us.
Great location to whatever you want to do in the area. Low Gap Cafe and a short drive to Jasper to the Ozark Cafe is a must for eating places when you don't feel like cooking! This is our 2nd year to stay and will definitely be back again. Great Host!
My husband and I went on this trip for a late anniversary getaway. The property was exactly as pictured, and very neat and clean. Our host sent us a pin drop with the exact location to help us get there. They were easy to contact if we needed anything (but we didn’t). We planned on just hanging out all weekend, but they had a hiking map which inspired us. We went on 2 separate trails, took some amazing pictures, and created some wonderful memories! We didn’t have much signal, and, honestly, it was nice to be unplugged!! Will definitely be back and bring our daughter! Highly recommend
My family of three loved our stay at this cabin. The cabin had all we needed to cook our meals and sleep comfortably. The location was perfect for easily accessing many hikes at the Buffalo River Park (which was our purpose for being out that way). We also enjoyed visiting with the cattle dogs and watching the cows in the morning and evenings. The hosts were great in making sure our stay was a great one. Highly recommend staying here to get away from it all.
We enjoyed how close the location was to the Buffalo National River/Whitaker Point. Unit was a very clean tiny house that was even better than the photos showed. We enjoyed a campfire, watching the cows/horses in the next pasture over, and cooking in the cozy kitchen. The cookware was in excellent condition - it had what we needed to make several meals during our stay.
Shhh! This place is so great you will want it for yourselves and not to tell others
This is a wonderful cabin in a beautiful setting. It’s exactly what is needed to enjoy the surrounding area. The one item to know is it does accurately say no WiFi but there is actually no service. Plan ahead with making your plans and writing it all down or by calling as you can’t use cell data to search or make online reservations.
Enjoy this fantastic place and fantastic hosts!
What a cute little piece of property! Cabin reminds me of a tiny home, of which I could live in forever! Well stocked with everything a person needs for a short stay. Surrounding property is gorgeous! Private, peaceful, and surrounded by beauty. Farm animals are a nice bonus. Thanks for sharing the ranchhouse and all the Buffalo river area has to offer. I can't wait to get back there again.
There's just nothing like being at the Buffalo in the spring. Eric's place offered scenic views and comfortable accommodations. He worked with our schedule for check-in, which we were very grateful for. We would stay here again and definitely recommend staying here!
