About this property
Kid friendly - Rustic Charm - 23 miles to YNP
Secluded, kid friendly, and only 23 miles to West Yellowstone! Cozy Critter Cabin is the perfect home base for all your outdoor adventures! We are located in a quiet and secluded area of Island Park, yet close to everything you want to do. Built in the early 1970’s Cozy Critter Cabin is a 1400 square foot classic cabin with some vintage charm. The main level has the original wood walls with rough cut espresso colored beams stretching across the new knotty pine vaulted ceiling. Additional lighting has been added so you can enjoy the level of lighting that best suits your desires. The original wood burning stove has a new brick hearth adding rustic beauty and cozy warmth to the cabin. Sitting on nearly 3/4 acres of property amidst towering pine trees and aspens growing amidst beautiful wildflowers in the warmer months.
Sit on the front deck while you relax and enjoy a cup of locally roasted coffee or tea provided for your stay before you begin your adventures for the day while you sit and take in the beauty of the forest. Prepare your meals in the well stocked kitchen with all the cooking basics plus an Instant Pot, coffee pot, coffee grinder, stovetop water kettle, electric griddle, toaster, blender, and a hand mixer. Enjoy your meals indoors at the spacious table or outdoors at the picnic table in the warmer months. Wind down at the end of the day at the outdoor fire pit with s’mores and fireside conversation. In case inclement weather keeps you from your outdoor adventures we have you covered. Games and puzzles are available with plenty of room to play them at the large table. A small selection of books are available downstairs where you can turn on the electric fireplace and enjoy some quiet time or walk around the corner and challenge your traveling partners to a game of foosball. For those traveling with small children we can accommodate your toddler (under age 2) in addition to the other guests. We want to make traveling with small children as stress-free as possible. You will find a selection of toys, child friendly dishes, bibs, a highchair, mobile play yard, pack-n-play, and baby blankets supplied. We’ve also installed a baby gate at the top of the stairs on the main floor as well as connectors around the wood burning stove to attach the mobile play yard to so you can still enjoy the wood burning stove without the risk of young children burning themselves. Situated on roughly 3/4 acres of land, there is plenty of room for children to go play outside, including a playhouse with a few toys where kids can explore and be creative. If you’re looking for a cozy place for your family that feels like home away from home with things to do nearby and easy access to Yellowstone Park then Cozy Critter Cabin is the perfect place to make your memories!
WiFi is available for the use of our guests as well as Roku on the TV's to login to your favorite streaming apps. Enjoy keyless entry so you don't have to keep track of a set of keys. The cabin is supplied with linens, towels, a hair dryer, hand soap, dish washing soap, trash bags, toilet paper, paper towels, and laundry detergent for use during your stay.
The cabin is only 1 mile from the lesser known entrance to 6,000 acres of lake known as Henry’s Lake where you can enjoy world renowned fishing, or kayaking, or other boating activities. The back of the property is bordered by undeveloped Targhee National Forest lands which allows random visits from a variety of forest critters, so keep your eyes open during your stay. Hiking, mountain biking, motorized trail riding, hunting, cross country skiing, snowshoeing or snowmobiling can all be done right from the cabin.
After booking you will receive a link to do the following within 48 hours of booking:

For guests visiting between mid October and mid May we strongly recommend 4WD for snow packed roads and the incline of our driveway! Fire pit doubles as an outdoor grill with a grilling rack that swings over the pit. The fire pit is only available JUNE-SEPTEMBER!! Be aware both indoor stairwells are a bit steep and narrow. There are outdoor stairwells to both the front and back decks that both access the main floor of the cabin that are much wider and easier to go up, especially with luggage or coolers. The outdoor stairs are a bit harder to access when the snow accumulates. NO ANIMALS are allowed at the cabin due to severe allergies in our family and we use our cabin regularly.

About the host
Hosted by Tiffany & Joshua McMillin

My name is Tiffany McMillin and my husband Joshua and I live in northern Utah with our 4 young children. Joshua is an aerospace engineer originally from Indiana and I’m a native Utahn full-time mom homeschooling our children. I was raised in northern Utah and have grown up my whole life visiting Island Park, Idaho thanks to generations before me having cabins in this area that gave me many opportunities to visit throughout my life. As a young child I fell in love with Island Park and have always dreamed of owning my own cabin here and making memories with my own children in this heavenly place. My husband was raised in Indiana and it was a bucket list dream of his to visit Yellowstone at least once in his life, now he owns a cabin 23 miles from Yellowstone and he is ecstatic! We purchased this cabin to make memories together as a family with our growing family and to provide a place for other families to make memories with their families when we aren’t using it. We are excited to share our cabin with you and hope that you enjoy the beauty and relaxation that Island Park and Yellowstone have to offer.
We purchased the cabin in October 2019 while I was pregnant with our youngest child and Joshua was in the midst of grad school getting his Masters Degree. Being built in the 1970’s with no upgrades we knew it needed work done to be a place we could enjoy staying and to make it useable in the winter months. It took longer than we anticipated to get to the point we’ve made it to, but we are pleased with the results and are excited to finally be at a point that we can come and just relax and enjoy the cabin. We plan to continue to make more improvements each year in the off seasons, but are thrilled to finally be in a place that we can make it available for others to start making their own memories in this amazing part of this country! We hope you will enjoy your time at Cozy Critter Cabin as much as we enjoy our time here.

What makes this property unique
Cozy Critter Cabin sits on just about 0.7 acres of forest land tucked away in a secluded area of Island Park. It is backed by Targhee National Forest which means lots of area to explore right out the back door! It's a very quiet area near large meadows where some of the locals let their cows graze. It's also located near several motorized vehicle and snowmobiling trails. There is a back entrance to Henry's Lake just a mile away that is a little known entrance where you can put your watercraft into the lake and enjoy a day playing on the lake. It is beautifully diverse area of Island Park!
