Lakefront house with multiple outdoor areas, fire pit, dock and two kayaks
The only problem with The Lazy Fox, a five bedroom immaculate home on a private wooded lot facing Lake Keowee, is that you won’t want to leave! The home has everything you need, from new designer finishes, a fully stocked kitchen to plush mattresses and 100% cotton bedding. Experience lakefront mountain views from two expansive levels of deck and a flagstone patio terrace over the lake, complete with a large stone firepit for s’mores and stargazing.
Walking down to the double level dock, you’ll find lounge chairs on the upper level deck where you can sunbathe or watch the striped bass below in the clear blue-green lake water. Swim or fish right from the lower dock. Tie your boat to our dock or rent one from Sunset Marina (only a 10 minute boat or car ride away) to enjoy watersports and beautiful sunset cruises in Lake Keowee. We also have two 12’ tandem kayaks and complementary life jackets to explore the shoreline by paddle.
Inside the home, enjoy two full living areas each with wood-burning fireplaces, flat-screen TVs and ample seating. Make yourself a cocktail or two in the bar area of the full day-light basement complete with foosball table, dartboard, game table and second fridge with icemaker. Help yourself to the new gas grill, double coffeemakers, toaster oven/air fryer and outdoor dining area for 10.
The home is spacious with five (5) bedrooms and and a separate bathroom on all three (3) levels. The loft area features a king bed, reading nook with lake views, desk area and private bathroom. The main level features the living room, dining room, kitchen, main bedroom with king bed and desk area, a bedroom with two twin XL (6’) single beds and a hall bathroom. The lower level includes a living room, game area, wet bar, laundry room, queen bedroom, a separate bunk room with four (4) twin XL beds and a hall bathroom. Excellent WIFI extends throughout the home, with an extension pod system ensuring that all bedrooms have a strong signal, ready for your next zoom call.
Did we mention that we’re only 12 minutes from the supermarket and only 17 minutes from Clemson University? Or that there are over 150 waterfalls in Oconee County and that our home is 24 minutes from Jocassee Gorges, named by National Geographic in 2012 as #9 of “50 of the World’s Last Great Places”? Truly, this is paradise.
Bringing a boat? Duke Power’s WarPath Landing is conveniently located across our cove. With no launch fees and new ramps, you’ll be on the water in no time.

We are so glad you enjoyed your visit to The Lazy Fox. We are always available to respond to any questions during your visit. Please come back and stay with us again!
Great rental. Has everything, from kitchen supplies to extra towels. Have rented many lake houses. This is the only one that was a home. Obvious but important things you want in a rental - comfortable furniture, beds, chairs, bedding - all in great condition. This will be our go-to house!

So glad you enjoyed your stay! Please come back and visit anytime - it is our home away from home too!
Well laid out house, room enough for us, our children and grand kids. Extremely clean and well stocked, especially the kitchen. We brought stuff for cooking but didn't really need to bring these things. We definitely will book this again.
Extremely cozy and comfortable, and all you have to do is show up with some clothes and food and you’re good to go. The kitchen was sufficient in size and had everything we needed for cooking and entertaining. We all had a great time and with the two living spaces and all the outdoor space, no one was on top of each other.
This house is perfect for a family vacation! We had an amazing time and the set up is great for teenagers! We cooked and played games and spent time on the dock!

Thanks, Charlotte. We're so glad you enjoyed your stay.
We had a wonderful stay at The Lazy Fox celebrating my son’s graduation from Clemson. Beautiful property and convenient location. I would highly recommend it and hope to come back!
Great property, as advertised!
Owner wonderful, when Hurricane Helene came through, lost power and a few trees, but owners responded immediately.
Kids had a ball, wonderful weekend, except weather!
Great spot on the north side of Keowee. Just across from Warpath Landing. Quiet, calm dock to keep your boat safe. The house is nestled in the trees for some calm, relaxing hours at the lake. House has all you need and the manager was super responsive. Feel free to book with confidence! Everyone agrees that we would book this spot again.
Overall, this was a great property for our group of 7 - 6 adults and a toddler. No one wanted to be in the loft bedroom due to sound carrying up from main floor and lack of window coverings for early sunrise, but other bedrooms were available. WI-FI didn’t work until the day we were leaving. Satisfied overall and loved location.

Apologies that the WiFi didn’t work. We do have fiber connectivity so that is unusual. Next time please let us know and we could’ve trouble shooted during your stay. The loft has the best views of the lake but it is an open loft. It’s still my personal favorite spot in the entire house! Glad you enjoyed your stay at The Lazy Fox!
We visited our oldest who is a sophomore at Clemson for a weekend of football and hanging out. House was as advertised - 2 bedrooms in the basement (one with 4 bunk beds), 2 bedrooms on the main floor and a master on the loft. View of the lake was awesome, great outdoor space with a fire pit and seating area. House had all the necessities and was cozy with 2 indoor fireplaces. Plenty of space for everyone to hang out together or find a place to get away. We would definitely stay again for next year's trip.
We enjoyed our stay at the Lazy Fox!! The house was very clean, had comfy beds, and plenty of space!! Having 2 living room spaces was nice when the teens wanted to play Xbox in the evening. We brought our Xbox and easily connected it to the tv. We rented a deck boat for a few days from High Falls Boat Rentals and liked being able to tie it to the side of the dock. The dock is shared with the neighboring property so it was slightly awkward one day when those renters were using the top sun deck of the dock and we felt we couldn’t use it, but it all worked out. The kayaks were a fun bonus that we all enjoyed. The short distance to Clemson was a big plus for us as well.
I always appreciate a good review. Here’s our experience..
Beautiful lake house. Just as pictured. We had two families with plenty of room. Teens took over downstairs and loved having their own space.
All beds comfortable and showers had great pressure. Water very clean and good to drink. AC very cold- although we did had challenges regulating. Some rooms got extremely cold. Each level has a thermostat.
Kitchen has a lot of cookware, dishes, serving platters, glassware. Some spices.
Easy to put boat in the water. And lake was fun with plenty to see including waterfall, jumping rock, marina, restaurant. Dock is at the end of a quiet cove. Perfect for jumping in the lake and floating right from the dock. Very safe with no boat traffic. But fishing from the dock was not good.
House in very safe neighborhood.
A few things to know:
- bring your own beach towels. None at the house
- driveway is tight and steep. Difficult to back in trailer.
- not many restaurants or cute small towns to visit. But plenty of hiking and day trip potentials.
- regardless of how many days you stay, you get rationed dish soap, garbage bags, paper products…. Make sure you plan ahead and bring your own.
- happy to have full propane tank for grill. But no firewood for fire pit.
- be prepared to climb steps to load/ unload boat. 57 steps.
- fooseball table didn’t work well.
- expect bugs- roaches and ants
- Wednesday is apparently lawn day. Machines are very loud. They just showed up and started walking around the house, right up to the doors and windows. Surprised us and created inconvenience.
Nice visit and very relaxing. Would recommend.

Thanks for your review! The next time you stay you should use our trailer parking - it's located right off the street after the driveway and much easier than backing a trailer down to the house.
Just cannot say enough about the Lazy Fox. We had a beautiful November weekend and were able to enjoy a kayak trip, bonfire, and football game-all in the same trip. Wonderful house. Highly recommend!
We had an amazing family reunion and Clemson football family weekend. It was a perfect place to gather and enjoy all that the area has to offer. We hope to be back again!
Beautiful lake house large enough to accommodate family and friends. We never even turned the tv on! The steps are a little steep, potentially difficult for some guests. Loved the 2 refrigerators which was necessary.
