I rent a large and beautiful village house, located between Valencia and Alicante, between the sea and the mountains. Ideal for 6 people, it is comfortable, quiet, bright, spacious and tastefully decorated. With a surface area of 220m², it offers 6 living rooms: 3 bedrooms with double beds, 2 lounges, 2 bathrooms (shower and bath), 3 WCs, a large patio with no overlooking trees and flowers (olive, lemon, jasmine, bougainvillea, rose...).
Completely renovated in 2016, with all modern comforts and an original decor that blends in well with its period charm.
Double orientation: South-facing on the patio side with 2 lovely terraces on the 1st and 2nd floors and a north-facing façade on the street side overlooking the village, with the main entrance to the house.
The house is very pleasant in every season, bright and with views of the mountains. There are several areas with different atmospheres, so you can easily live together without stepping on each other's toes! The neighbours are friendly, discreet and respectful.
An ideal spot to unwind in the green, lazing around, relaxing, or enjoying the hustle and bustle of the movida, there's something to suit all (good) tastes for a great holiday with family, friends or as a couple.
The village is very pleasant and offers many amenities: the village swimming pool opens from early July to early September for just €1 to €2, with a snack restaurant, surrounded by olive trees and lawn (see photo).
Three restaurant-bars, a bakery, a pharmacy and a well-stocked grocery shop are open all year round.
The village has a population of around 650, mainly Spanish but also French, German and English. The atmosphere is warm and friendly. You can stay in the village without needing a car, but to get to the beach a car is necessary, otherwise cheap local taxis are available. Around the village, you can enjoy beautiful walks in the valleys and mountains, or drive through the rice fields or to the protected La Marjal National Nature Park (10 minutes' drive away, with its many springs, especially of iodine water) or by the sea. The region is very green, with countless valleys of orange, olive, almond, cherry, fig, medlar and bougainvillea trees...
The sandy beaches are around 15 minutes' drive from the house: temporary snack bars/restaurants right on the sand are open during the summer with a variety of pleasant atmospheres (chiringuitos). Otherwise, restaurants are open all year round. The nearest town is Pego, 1 km away, with all the services, markets and shops you could wish for. Dénia, a pretty historic seaside town 20 minutes away by car, offers a wide choice of restaurants, bars, a marina and a typical, pretty fishing district. Sea outings, snorkelling, diving, JetSurfing... Ferries leave every day for the Balearics... A possible getaway!
Valencia is 1 hour's drive away: a large, beautiful city with plenty to discover in terms of art and culture, gastronomy, architecture and a variety of outings. Alicante and its surrounding fishing villages offer another friendly atmosphere.
There are some great walks in the surrounding area, as well as visits to the villages of the Vall de Gallinera, a 15-minute drive away, and other superb sites.
