Brown Cabin was perfect for our family vacation.
Our adult children including grandchildren enjoy staying together on vacation. This allowed each family to have their own room and still be together. They also requested a cabin in the mountains, again Brown Cabin fit the bill. It was rustic enough to be authentic and modern enough for all of our needs for the week.

Brown cabin
This little cabin has some great potential but sure could use some updates. Description listed is somewhat accurate and we knew it would be an older cabin from the description given, yet some things you can’t know from pictures. The floors are very uneven and creak a lot. There is a musty smell that some older cabins get. And there were very few “extras” there that we have always found in abundance at other VRBO’s such as spices, and extra little things (saran wrap, tinfoil…etc) that many times other renters leave behind for others to use. Not that that’s part of a VRBO rental just found it odd as we have always been in cabins that had several of those items. Just letting others know in case they have experienced that as well and don’t buy something thinking it may be there. There were a few other things that would have made the stay much nicer had they provided also. For those who like things close to town, this is close enough yet not in the center of town. We just prefer things further out of town. This is a first for us to put out there something somewhat negative on a VRBO but feel others should know, especially for what we pay for renting a cabin. On a positive….I would like to say the owners were very open to honest feedback and apologized for the disappointment and the things we had issues with and said she would take action in fixing a couple of the problems we had. We appreciate that she asked how our stay was and could truly be open about it.

We built this unit in 2012 with an eye for just those things one might need while vacationing. Estes Park is our absolute favorite mountain town. We visited for 20 years before moving here full time.

Why they chose this property

This cabin is located on the calmer side of town. Just 2 miles to downtown, but the road stops at a campground two miles past our cabin. As a result we got lots of wildlife visitors, including elk, deer, chipmunks, rabbits, and even the occasional bobcat or bear! The views are wonderful including a nice view of Longs Peak at 14,000 feet. Easy access yet a little separated from the hustle and bustle of the main tourist area in downtown.

What makes this property unique

**We require a signed rental agreement as part of the booking process**
-Packnplay is not kept on site and must be requested in advance.
-You will need to bring your own food and toiletries.
-Parking limited to 4 vehicles max. No RVs or trailers.
-Washer/dryer only available summer/fall.
-Upstairs doorways and ceilings are lower than average due to the age of the cabin.
-Some basic supplies are kept in the basement of this cabin. During your stay, it is possible that a cleaner may come by to access some of the supplies through the exterior access door below the deck. Thanks for understanding.
