This is such a lovely place and such a treat to stay! I can't recommend it enough - my sister and I will be back for another visit for sure. Jonathon is the best host and gave us an excellent orientation to the area.
Sanctuary by the Sea is all things gorgeous. Jonathan is a knowledgeable, attentive, respectful host. After his welcome and great overview of things to do/see on the Olympic Peninsula, we had our little world to ourselves. Great as a place to return after a day of hiking, but the view made it a place you could just tuck in, read, rest, cook, dream.
Perfect place and location, the views are beautiful the place is clean and has everything you could need , thank you for the info , we saw a lot while we were there ! John is full of knowledge about the area , thanks again !
We loved our stay at this property! The home was wonderful, with lots of modern conveniences and everything we needed for our stay. The grounds and the water views were peaceful and beautiful! And the host was very friendly and helpful! The Sanctuary by the Sea is a little piece of heaven on earth!
My wife's birthday week getaway could not have gone better. Cozy duplex with amazing 180 degree view to Dungeness, to Vancouver Island, to Mount Baker, super clean, well outfitted, comfy beds and linens, access to the beach, close to sights and hikes in the Olympics. Always felt private, as if in a separate house. Everything we wanted!!!
Beautiful view. We felt tucked away in the woods. Jon was very helpful and the place is really clean. we never got a chance to walk down to the water. We wish we would have had an extra day.
A delightful property in a breathtaking position overlooking the ocean. Clean, well equipped and spacious, with a lovely garden from where to enjoy the abundance of wildlife, It made a perfect base for us to explore the northern part of Olympic National Park. The owners, who live next door, were friendly, welcoming but not intrusive and very helpful in regard to advice on tourist attractions, providing info and recommendations via the Vrbo app and in person. Many thanks to Jon. We are so glad to have chosen this lovely property for our post cruise base and wouldn’t hesitate to return one day.
Wow. What a great place to stay. Don’t skimp on number of days was our lesson. Two is not enough to enjoy the scenery, sights, restaurants and home. Never been to such a well organized, equipped place with lovely views and amenities. Top 3 of all VRBO’s we’ve ever stayed in. Loved it. Host Jon is full of tips and local advice.
Excellent property. The views are spectacular! It's a little bit outside of Sequim, but totally worth the extra drive for the privacy and views. Jon was a fantastic host. We had everything we needed. Highly recommend!
From booking until checkout this property exceeded our expectations. We stayed for a week and the property owner could not have been more helpful or responsive. Although they live next door you never feel as though they were there. The place itself had absolutely stunning views and the home had everything you need for a comfortable stay. Seems they have thought of everything! I would recommend this to anyone wanting a restful vacation close to the eastern side of Olympic National Park. Just ask the owner Jon who is a font of information as far as things to do and see.
Sanctuary by the Sea is aptly named. Our group of four could not have had a nicer stay. The location is phenomenal - beautiful and serene. A true get away from the stresses of city life. The house and grounds are lovely. The hosts, Jon and Amanda, are spectacular. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would definitely stay there again.
Our stay at Sanctuary by the Sea was more than we could have hoped for. Communication with Jonathan was quick and easy. He checked in on us the first day and was so nice. He sent a list of helpful ideas for area activities, although we made sure we had time each day to simply relax “at home”. The house had everything we needed and was comfortable and clean. And the view outside kept calling our names. The sunsets were truly spectacular and went well with a nice glass of wine! We can’t wait to return.
I had such a fantastic time staying at this property! If you are looking for the perfect home base for exploring Olympic National Park, this is truly it. The location is incredibly convenient, making it so easy to head out for daily adventures in the park. One of the absolute highlights was the view—it was breathtaking and made every morning coffee and evening wind-down feel special. Plus, having direct beach access right there was a huge bonus; it was so nice to be able to head down to the water whenever the mood struck. The host was wonderful as well—super nice, very welcoming, and made sure everything was perfect for our visit. I can’t recommend this place enough to anyone planning a trip to the area. We’ll definitely look to stay here again!
