Perfect House for Our Getaway

We could not have asked for a more perfect place to stay on Smith Lake. This home is well appointed, they have thought of everything, even the things we didn’t think of. It is three levels so even though there were 10 of us it never felt crowded. I cannot rate this accommodation high enough. We will definitely be going back.

Great Group Retreat

This is a great property if you have a larger group that just wants to get away and visit the lake. There are plenty of beds and no one needed to sleep on a couch. There is also more than enough parking for our group of 8. Everything was clean and well maintained. The kitchen was well equipped and had much nicer cookware than one would expect for a rental. I will definitely keep this place in mind for future trips!

Great stay! Crafters Paradise :)

We had a great stay at Snowbird! Ron was very helpful and responsive to anything we needed. The kids loved jumping off the dock. They are looking to replace the dock which will be great for next summer, Ron was very upfront about the condition. There aren't pictures of the kitchen and bathrooms but rest assured they are nice and clean. Plenty of space and all the tables made us want to take up crafting - maybe next trip. Thanks for a great stay!

Weird Layout but Ended up Great

The twin size only beds was uncomfortable for a grown man. lol. House it clean and decent layout. Great location. 128 stairs to water and the dock was a hazard. Needs TLC. Rusty nails everywhere and not cleaned. Over all I'd give it a 7/10. House was good, stairs and dock wasn't great. I'd stay again tho.

Thank for the fair review This is our first year renting the house. In the winter the Snowbird is a retreat , reason for the twin beds. Beautiful Lake House

The house is beautiful and very clean and well maintained, the owners have thought of everything! Pros: -Well stocked kitchen and pantry supplies, snacks and waters, grill, linens, toiletries, TVs, games, books, etc. -Beautiful view, quiet and peaceful. -Spacious -Easy checkin/out, clear directions for things in the house - Responsive owner - Lots of tables, great for board game nights! Cons: (None of the cons are things the owner can change, more an FYI so you can plan appropriately.) -Very off grid, no restaurants in reasonable distance and only one dollar general no grocery stores nearby. Shop before you go to the house and stock up well for all meals. -Nice boat dock but miles to nearest marina with public access, come prepared with multiple adults to set aside an hour for the process of driving to a launch, launch and driving back while the other drives the boat back and navigates to the dock then repeat the process to pull out. - Dock stairs and rails are steep and much older wood, over 150 steps down, some of our family members could not safely make the trip down to the water, especially after dark as there is minimal lighting. Would definitely recommend this house just plan accordingly, housed a large family ranging from infants to mid 60s and never felt cramped.

Thank you for the nice review. Since this is our first year renting we have learned a lot. We will be adding lighting to the lake. We will continue to upgrade the steps to the lake. Also to our table folder we will add more places to eat and boat rentals and boat access places. You are right some of these are very limited. The house was left in great shape, thank you, hope you select us again In the future.

Great place for a large group of friends

Everything was a breeze. 20-35 minutes away from the Rock the South avenue. It was clean, well-equipped, peaceful and conveniently located.

We rented the Snowbird Retreat for a quick weekend getaway with friends. We had ages 1-14 plus adults and everyone enjoyed it! If you're concerned about the stairs, don't be, it's worth it. Snowbird Retreat had everything stocked that we needed + more.

Snowbird retreat was a great spot for our retreat. Awesome two story dock and wonderful porches.

Ron was fantastic host, and both responsive and easy to communicate with. He was quick to address questions and the property was fantastic. If looking for a place where many people can have their own bed at Smith Lake, look no further. Really great spot.

Great place

Overall the stay was fantastic. The place was well stocked and plenty of little surprises like snacks being provided. We had a total of 5 kids with three of them being teenagers and there was enough room and enough entertainment (TVs, swimming, fishing, etc) that they didn’t get on each nerves. The swim deck was great for diving as it was deep water. Be warned there’s a lot of steps to the dock! The owner checked on us via text which was nice. The deck and stairs need repairs but he said that would be done this winter.

Great home for vacation

We loved staying here! My family and my brothers family had plenty of room. We brought our boat and had a great time on the lake. The house is furnished nicely with everything you could need in the kitchen! The hot tub was a hit too! The stairs down to the water are a bit of a struggle, but worth it!

Well worth the trip

I was very happy with our stay at the Snowbird retreat. The stairs down to the water are a bit of a trek, but well worth it once you get there or back. I am usually not the type to want to go on the same trip twice but I am quite certain I will be booking again in the future. Property owner was very helpful with any questions we had and the house had plenty of room for 15 of us.

Family Retreat

Family from KY and FL met midway at the Snowbird Retreat. What an amazing time we had! Every amenity you can think of was available to us, the home & property was beautiful, beds comfy and it was obvious the pride of ownership this VRBO host property boasted! Kitchen was fully stocked and made meals a breeze to feed our group. We felt secluded but secured and can't thank the owners enough for our relaxing long weekend. Many blessings on this property!!!!
