About this property

Ocean front house with two private beaches-- on a peninsula--spectacular views!

Ocean front home located at the end of a peninsula, on Fickett's Point in Milbridge, Maine. It is privately situated close to the ocean on three sides and a spectacular open view of the islands from the living room. This house is across the water from the town of Milbridge and has access to a sandy beach in back and a rocky beach in front.
Very quiet and very private.
You get sunset views over the water on one side and sunrise views on the other. If you like the sound of the ocean waves at night you will love this comfortable two bedroom home with a picture window and window seat in the living room looking out at the islands. Both beaches are private and easily accessible. You can launch a boat at the marina a mile down the road and cruise around the coast or easily pull a canoe or kayak down to the shore directly in front of the house. There is nice kayaking and canoeing all around the vicinity. The house is great for a husband and wife private getaway or a retreat for vacationers wanting a quiet and scenic place to forget their worries and just relax. Children will love the diverse collection of shells, beach-glass and things to find while beach-combing.
The house is, and has been, immaculately clean. It is supplied with all the amenities. This house is cheery, comfortable and cozy with lots of natural light. It has plenty of room inside and truly spectacular views.
We have wireless high speed internet and a smart t.v. too. There is a new gas fireplace for quiet cozy evenings. The house is surrounded by water on three sides. There are two very accessible beaches, both private, included on the property. This is a very peaceful area situated at the tip of a peninsula. This is the last house at the very end.
This house accommodates 4 (6 if you want to put a couple children on the roll away beds). All new appliances and fully outfitted for a restful vacation.

How far? The house is 1½ hours east of Bangor and the Bangor International Airport. 4½ hours northeast of Portland, 5½ hours from Boston and 10½ hours from New York City.

What's nearby? Acadia National Park. Also Campobello Island, New Brunswick (FDR's summer home) is within an hour and a half, as is Quoddy Head, easternmost lighthouse in the US.
Lobsters and clams are readily available in Milbridge (lobster and clam pots provided with cottage). This is one of the largest wild blueberry producing areas in the world, so there are plenty of berries available nearby during the season (late July through August); berry picking is permitted at Petit Manan National Wildlife Refuge in season.
Activities in this part of Maine include hiking the Petit Manan Coastal Wildlife Refuge trails, visiting the pink granite shores at McClellan Park in Milbridge, exploring the crashing surf at Acadia National Park’s Schoodic Point in Winter Harbor, hiking the Bold Coast up in Cutler, visiting the wonderful Milbridge historical society museum and, of course, checking out the tourist attractions in Bar Harbor.

The view here is everything, as other reviews have stated! My kids loved the rocks to climb on and the private beach to look for shells. Although dated, the cottage itself had everything we needed for a family of four. The bright yellow carpet in the master bedroom was maybe the worst feature (it has seen better days!), but overall very clean and a great spot to stay for a few nights to enjoy the Maine coastal life. I would recommend this property!

Our second “Seaspruces“ vacation was equally as wonderful as the first! The property was immaculately clean upon arrival, and feels as welcoming as being home. I cannot say enough about the property location and the two private beaches! The front beach is often livelier as it faces southerly. The back beach is calmer most of the time and was a perfect spot to launch our kayaks, wade, or swim. The kayaking from here is excellent. We went on three great kayak trips. One exploring up the river to the town public boat launch near the 1A bridge, enjoying seals, fish jumping, seabirds, eagles, and some wonderful views. The other two we headed around the point eastward toward Strout Point, with one trip well into Back Bay in the fog. Again we saw a lot of seals, seabirds, fish jumping, and even an otter just around Strout Point. I chose a week with a waxing moon ending with a full moon, which rewarded us with some amazing time marveling at Narraguagus Bay by moonlight! Though we did make a couple day trips, we spent the majority of our stay enjoying the beauty of the property and all the peacefulness!

Perfect Family Vacation

This was the perfect family time. Access to the beaches was magical, keeping the kiddos out, active, and exploring throughout the entire trip. A very well-appointed kitchen so we could cook up lobster from the local dock. Isolated enough to feel the quiet of nature with access to a great market, fresh lobster, and national parks. Highly recommend!

Perfect peninsula

Great place to stay in Maine, everything you need right at home. Grilling and boiling lobster outside with fantastic equipment. Big quiet setting, close to small town, which has all you need if you need anything. Close to great hikes, Arcadia schoodic peninsula, all the great stuff, but less traffic. Bring a jacket it’s cool.

Beautiful private beach access

We loved the property. We spent time on the beaches and climbing on the rocks of the shoreline. We were glad to have the large lobster pot and the yard games in the garage. The fireplace was inviting and cozy. We would definitely stay here again.

Relaxing retreat

My husband and I had a wonderful relaxing time. We enjoyed looking for shells on the private beaches and sitting by the indoor fireplace in the evenings. The house was very clean and except for food of course, had everything we needed. We will definitely stay here the next time we are in Maine.

Perfect Rest

A perfect Maine vacation spot. Nice but not pretentious. Everything you need but not too modern. I mean that in the best way possible. Enjoyed the quiet time with the family after a day out exploring the region.

My favorite getaway

The location is perfection. The amenities are so well stocked and generous it truly feels like you are welcomed into the family. It is a secluded but very close to town. There is nothing that needs improvement - it is truly a slice of paradise and I cannot wait until we can return again. Sea Spruces is my favorite place on earth!

We greatly enjoyed our stay at Sea Spruces! The house has been modernized enough to have all the essentials for a wonderful stay, while still retaining the classic down-east home feeling! As soon as I walked in I knew I had walked into someone's beloved family home full of memories. Our goal was to find a rental that wasn't just a place to eat and sleep before going on day trips, but a place where we could enjoy many hours as a family. The beaches were wonderful, we went in the water even in mid September, kayaked each day, while marveling at the surrounding beauty and peacefulness. Our only regret was not booking a longer stay. We will definitely consider renting Sea Spruces again!

Wonderful property

This property has everything you could need! The house was super clean and was the perfect size for 5 of us. We all had enough room to spread out when needed. We all loved the older style of the house and being on the peninsula was the best! So cool to have our own private beach with rocks, shells & sea glass. Lastly, the price was great as well!

Ocean front Maine experience.

The house is comfortable, clean, incredibly well equipped, private, safe, and quiet. It is located on a point with water on three sides. You always know you are on the coast of Maine. There is easy access to the water including the ability to kayak from shore. It is a short drive into town to buy groceries and access restaurants. Beautiful hikes in the various parks are also easily accessible.

Such a peaceful, renewing stay!

Well appointed and cozy house, with everything you could want - from toiletries to cookware! But! The location!! Superb for relaxation - amazing views and the sound of waves, so peaceful. Literally steps to the water, on most sides of the house. Ideal location for stargazing. Milbridge itself is such cute town, everything we needed for food was a short drive away.

The photos don’t do it justice!

The pictures were great but we were stunned by the beauty and serenity of this place. It is also much larger than it seems in the photos. Well appointed with extremely comfortable beds and pillows. We had planned to use it as a base and day trip but just didn’t want to leave. Bar Harbor was close enough to visit easily. Sunrise and sunset both amazing from the property and just beautiful beyond words. There have only been a couple places in my fairly extensive travels where leaving has brought tears to my eyes but this was one. I hope to come back sometime for a longer stay.

Cozy clean home by the Sea

I loved the homey feel of this house and its location between 2 beaches! The house was very clean and neat with wifi and RoKu TV! I especially enjoyed walking along the beaches and seeing the view through the large windows. My friend said the water was filmy when she showered, but I didnt notice anything. I would love to come back!
