About this property

Sugar Ridge, near Asheville, nice valley view, Modern country home on 10+ acres

Newly renovated country house on 10+ acres with large picture windows and deck overlooking a rural valley. Enjoy the deck, gardens, and koi pond, or relax inside with the fireplace, large screen TV, and cozy open concept kitchen and living area. This is a clean smoke-free property. Smoking is not permitted anywhere on the property, including outside.

The house is just 7 miles east of Weaverville's Main Street, 15-20 minutes to Asheville, not far from the Blue Ridge Parkway, lots of great restaurants, and all that Asheville has to offer. Our home is in a quaint rural community. You will hear our neighbor's rooster in the morning, an occasional howling dog and visits from free range chickens. The neighborhood is near 100 years old with mostly local folks who enjoy the mountains.

The two ample sized bedrooms each have their own climate control to support your comfort. The master bedroom has a full bath and a balcony overlooking the valley. The kitchen is modern and well stocked with spices, oils, and other cooking accessories.

Relaxing Holiday Get Away
Eric is a great host, extremely responsive and very welcoming. The house was well looked after with clear instructions provided for the essentials and we had no problems during our stay. The location is close enough to Asheville and surrounding areas that everything was a short car ride away. We can’t wait to come back.

Beautiful Rural Setting and Very Comfortable Home
My partner and I stayed for two weeks. When we first got there we were surprised the frig was almost full, along with the pantry. We discovered this was a plus as all of the essentials were there to prepare meals. We created a makeshift pantry for the items we brought so that problem was solved. The bedrooms are upstairs and very comfortable. The master has an ensuite bathroom. The big surprise was there was a bidet which is a nice feature. The linens were plush. There's an additional full bath on the main floor where the kitchen/dining/living room are located. There's a few more steps to the lower level which has another big screen TV and some workout equipment. The washer/dryer is located there too. There are a number of outside stairs to go to the deck to get access to the house. The home is very comfortable and the setting is wonderful! We enjoyed the neighbors' roosters and hens greeting us at the lower level door. There's a koi pond which is fun - loved feeding the fish! There is a next door neighbor who is in close proximity but never heard any noise. The location is about 10 minutes outside of Weaverville and 20-25 minutes to Asheville. It's also about 25-30 minutes from Black Mountain, another nice mountain town. The owner Eric is a great communicator. He got back to us right away if we had any questions. The check-in/check-out process was a breeze. If we are in the Weaverville area for another visit we will definitely rent this home again!

Beautiful location and helpful owners
My son, little dog and I stayed for almost a week and really loved our stay. Kitchen has everything needed to cook and the place looked recently renovated. The town is adorable and right off the Parkway (we love to hike) and not far from Asheville. We saw chickens, bears, turkeys and really loved the gorgeous koi pond on the property. Owners were very kind and helpful. Definitely recommend this spot.

Our group (4 adults) enjoyed our stay at Reems Creek. I’m glad we chose to stay in Weaverville. Very scenic and close to hiking. The hosts were very responsive and provided us with everything we needed.

Peaceful, modern, dog friendly, country mountain stay
Planned a trip to meet friends for a long weekend, mountain getaway- plenty of space for four adults to lounge and move around without feeling cramped. My partner and I arrived late in the evening, the house was well lit and easy to access. A cozy and welcoming space with all the amenities anyone would need while on holiday. You can watch a beautiful sunset just down the road or hop in the car for a short ride to the blue ridge mountain parkway for a nice hike and overlook sunset. High speed internet worked seamlessly for my partner and I to work remote for a couple days. Oh and did I mention it’s dog friendly? Our boy loved the big yard and Zoe, the cute neighbor dog that came to visit and play fetch with us.

About the host

After exploring the Asheville area for several years, we chose Weaverville for it's great main street, sense of community, and lovely Reem's Creek valley drive. We like simple, healthy living and nature and have family influences from Japan, Germany, and both US coasts. Our family of teachers, tech workers, and lifelong learners inspired the interior layout of the house. Tsuneko likes handcrafts and Eric is an HR consultant. We both like sushi and farm to table food!

Why they chose this property

This simple property is a great canvas for us to explore nature and the land. We've built a koi pond, are building a peace garden, and will soon blaze trails on the mountain ridge behind our home. We saw potential in the great valley views from the main living area and built out picture windows and a deck to enjoy it. We're always doing something on the property (but won't work on the property when you stay with us).

What makes this property unique

Great valley views, easy access to Weaverville, and a short hop to Asheville all make this property a great place to visit or hang out for extended periods. We also have wonderful salt-of-the-earth neighbors who enhance the sense of community on our country road.
