This is our second time renting this house and we love it! Garrett is so easy to communicate with which makes the rental a breeze! The house is large and gorgeous and has so many amenities. This time around we really enjoyed the record player, the Wii and the pool table since it rained a good bit. But of course nothing beats the lake view and lake access! It is quite a drive from anything which makes it a real getaway!
Spent the week with extended family and the house was perfect! All the room we needed and the view of the lake and mountains was priceless. The property is remote but if you’re prepared it’s an excellent get away. Communication with the owner was good but the limited cell service did limit it at times. Would definitely recommend a stay.
We loved our stay at this gorgeous property. It was very clean and well stocked. We played games, swam, hiked. Our teen loved having the whole downstairs “wing” to herself. Our doggy loved having the zoomies on the steep mountain yard. We will happily return!
Beautiful property and expansive interior with lots of spaces and places to group and relax. Kitchen was very well stocked and beds were very comfortable. Quite a nice movie library and we even worked a fun puzzle. A few folks ventured down and up the hill and our fisherman even caught a couple fish down on the dock! Everyone enjoyed the house and lovely view!
The home was absolutely beautiful, large enough for our family to spread out, well appointed. Comfortable beds, equipment for playing in the water. Responsive host and property manager. The walk to the dock is steep and there's very little flat yard for the kids to play, but the decks and playhouse became their playground! Though we didn't use them, there was a huge DVD library. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
We were very happy with Wolf mountain retreat. It is very remote and quiet, which is what we wanted. The house is amazing - so huge! It had everything one would need for a great vacation. The lake is a beautiful mountain lake with very little activity. The Kayaks were fun, as was the fishing. We hope to go back when the weather is a little warmer. If booking, just know that you are far away from any sort of store/restaurant/life etc....prepare properly and it will be a perfect trip!
Our whole family loved our vacation at this beautiful large house. It had an amazing lake view, spacious kitchen and more than enough to entertain kids ages 6-16 both out on the lake and inside. We took hikes each day, kayaked, swam, enjoyed the decks, and played chess. Everything in the house was high quality including the beds.
We would love to stay here again if we are ever in the area! Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful home and for the helpful communication before our stay.
This house was perfect. Clean, roomy and well stocked. Beautiful views of the lake and mountains. 10/10 would recommend. It is remote so take what you need. Lots of curved road but you get used to it. Very steep walk to the lake (not flip flop friendly so wear sneakers) but there is room to park by the dock if you want to drive down. My adult kids enjoyed kayaking and taking out dogs to the beach. Great host communication.
Our crew of 11 had a great time. The house is definitely remote, but we brought enough food and drink and never left the property (except for paddling adventures on the lake). The house has everything you need to cook... the biggest DVD collection I have ever seen... and a vinyl collection that we thoroughly enjoyed. The view from the porch was great. We enjoyed the fire pit at night. The walk down to the lake is short but very steep, but you can drive your cooler and floats down and park by the dock. We come to the general Asheville area every year and this house was our favorite. We definitely talked about coming back.
Our family had a wonderful time! We were 7 adults and 3 children, 4,5 and 6, and everyone had plenty of space.
The house has everything you could want...and everyone had their favorite things...some like the kayaks best, the fire pit was a favorite, puzzles, pool table, bunk beds, porches....mine was the black stone griddle...
and we ALL loved the location. Maybe a bit daunting to get to at first, but honestly, even though we visited some of the hiking trails (that we're truly amazing) if we could never leave the property that would've worked too. The view is as beautiful as it looks in the photos, and the inside of the house is just as pretty as it shows.
The hosts were very responsive, and you can tell they pay attention to the comfort of their guests. Thanks Jess and Garrett.
We are planning a return trip, for sure!
We recommend staying here 100%.😀👍
Our family just got home from an amazing vacation stay here. The house is immaculate and has so much room. The screened in side deck was my favorite spot. It's the perfect place to read and relax. We had a lot of fun floating around the dock and laying in the sun. The water was very clear and clean. The walk back up, from the dock, is a little steep but was worth it. There is also a little pull off at the dock so you could always drive down and park. The views and tranquility were absolutely perfect! Garrett and Jessica are incredible hosts. We never had a problem but did have a couple questions. Their communication and timeliness couldn't be beat. We are completely satisfied with our stay and will definitely be back!! Thank you Jessica and Garrett!!
We recently stayed at this amazing house. We were a party of 13 and there was plenty space for everyone, The house is fully stocked with everything you may need, from the kitchen to the
huge movie library, board games. We absolutely loved the house and look forward to renting again maybe for a summer get away. One thing to keep in mind whe renting this home specially on the winter months is the distance to get anywhere. Your closest supermarket is 45 min and if you are looking to do activities away from the house you must plan for at least 1 1/2 hour drive. Again the house is beautiful and offers a lot of things to do as well as nice waking tracks. Most importantly Garret the owner was amazing his costumer servers is amazing. Alaways just a call or text away.
Thanks for sharing g your beautiful home with us! We had a great time.
This was one of the nicest vacation rentals for our family & we have been vacationing in NC for the past 7 years. The house was equipped with everything we could have possibly needed. The beds were great & the porches were wonderful to sit & drink morning coffee, eat all meals or just relax & read a book. Our teenage grandson & friend used the kayaks daily to fish & caught enough fresh water bass for our dinner one evening!! The location is very remote but we understood that from the description & brought all that we needed. Otherwise it is about a 50 minute drive or so to the nearest Ingles or a full service grocery store. There is a Family Dollar for basics about 20 minutes away. Internet was fine for texting & emails. No cell service but we used the landline the couple of times that we needed to communicate by phone. Great hiking close by to a beautiful waterfall. The weather was super…cool with a breeze. A great escape from our intense Florida heat. The rental instructions were so thorough we never needed to contact the owners. Highly recommend!!
This is a very special place. The home is beautiful and spacious. The views of the lake and surrounding mountains are lovely. Our family of 9 with multiple dogs loved our stay. It is remote, but that is what we desired. Fourth of July on a peaceful lake. We used the kayaks everyday, and enjoyed smores at the fire pit. So nice that so many floats, life jackets, fishing gear was provided. Highly recommend!
What a wonderful, comfortable home for our adult children (ages 18-25) and friend/spouse to spend a week with us! The serenity of the birds singing and mountain streams running were a restorative break from everyday responsibilities. Even when it rained, there was plenty to do in the house, from playing pool to card games to Monopoly to occasional video games for some of the kids. The lake is absolutely wonderful and the provided kayaks and life jackets were great to have at the dock. The walk is incredibly steep, but thankfully, there is a place to park at the bottom if you're just not "feeling it." We cooked all of our meals at the house and enjoyed s'mores over the fire a couple of nights. It is a significant distance from any commercial establishment, which is part of the charm of the lake's location. Thank you so very much, Garrett and Jessica, for sharing your parcel of paradise with us.
Had a great time and filled all five bedrooms with family. Hiked to the top of the road for our exercise!! Kayaking, swimming, we did all of it. We will be back.
