This beautiful home was perfect for our sisters weekend! The home is filled with the owners art which is so unique and highlights their incredible talent. Miki & Tom were the perfect hosts and were available to answer any questions. Beds were so comfortable and shower pressure was amazing! House was very clean. The front porch was our favorite spot to relax and talk after our day’s adventure. The back deck area also featured a dining table for al fresco dining. The property is within walking distance of so many great shops and restaurants. We just loved staying at this fabulous home.

Great Stay

In Chattanooga for son’s wedding just down the block at the Common House. Perfect location for the wedding and exploring Chattanooga - short walk to restaurants and bars and short bike ride downtown. The apartment was clean and had everything we needed. We especially enjoyed the shower - great pressure and endless hot water!!!

This place was just perfect for our family of 5! The house was so cozy and charming, and Tom and Miki were the sweetest hosts! Super easy to communicate with and very welcoming. Also the location was perfect - quick walk to some adorable restaurants in a charming neighborhood, and right next to a playground! Thank you for a wonderful stay - we can't wait to come back!

Mother's Day Weekend

This house was perfect and the host is excellent. The house is very clean and comfortable, and is nicely remodeled with a great vibe created by colors and lots of very nice artwork. The location was perfect with plenty of walkable restaurants and a very short drive to downtown attractions and Lookout Mountain. We are planning to come back and would definitely want to stay at this property again.

It's A Wonderful Stay!

Staying at Miki & Tom's was such a treat! We had everything we needed and the space was very welcoming. The hosts, themselves, are lovely to meet and also very respectful about letting guests have their personal space. Tom went out of his way to show my son how the Murphy bed in the front gallery room worked. (My son is obsessed with Murphy beds. Lol) We loved that we could walk to so many restaurants in the area. There are a lot of great options!

Fun Decor

We loved looking at the art around the house. We would always see something new every time we entered. The hosts were very easy going! We even had a fresh tomato freshly picked from their little garden. We would stay there again. Denise

Best VRBO property I have visited - ever.

What a beautiful house, well appointed inside and incredibly comfortable. The Southside location is great for exploring Chattanooga, and is very convenient for the Ironman races or other events in town. There are lots of restaurants, cafes, shops, and entertainment locations about a block north, and the city's free shuttle makes it possible to park your car for good for the entire visit. Miki and Tom are wonderful.

Charming and inspirational

We had a wonderful stay in Chattanooga - felt very lucky to have stayed in Miki's home. Surrounded by art - we loved staring at 'Hanna and her hummingbird'...so good! Home had everything we needed (thank you for the coffee!), even cooked a few meals. Easy parking, right outside the back porch. Pleasantly surprised to find recycling bins. Location is very convenient to downtown Chattanooga.

Absolutely wonderful stay at Miki and Tom's!

WOW..what an amazing stay! From the moment we arrived Miki greeted us on the front porch with such great hospitality and warm smiles:) I was so impressed, not only with her amazing art work (she is so very talented!) .. her kind and welcoming demeanor. The cleanliness and order of the apartment was impeccable. We were immediately comfortable and relaxed. I highly recommend The Residence to anyone traveling to Chattanooga! We walked everywhere, even downtown and we have a 10 and 6 year old. Every restaurant we went to was amazing and very reasonably priced. Our last night we hung out with Miki and Tom on the porch which was so great getting to know them and confirmed what cool, down to earth, kind and gracious people they both are. Thanks again Miki and Tom..we will see you again!

Showing Chattanooga to our family

This restored house is beautiful, and in the perfect location. It is near the Choo Choo hotel, and there are several restaurants within walking distance. Additionally you are close to free public transportation. You have the whole downstairs, and the host lives upstairs (with a separate entrance.) Our host was in contact before our check in, and greeted us when we arrived to show us where things are. They were easy to contact, but we were less aware of their presence than one might be aware of neighbors in a condo. The house is very solid. There are no creaky floors or other signs one might expect from a historic home like this. The beds were comfortable. The host is an artist, and her beautiful work is everywhere. We enjoyed all of it! Two things I would point out are: 1. The bathroom situation is 1 and 1/2 baths, which is stated in the listing. That was fine for us, and the plumbing is fully up to date with good water pressure. 2. The 2nd bedroom has 2 twin beds. There is a Murphy bed in the gallery in the front of the house, so if you are 2 couples, I would be sure and talk to the host in advance about your preferred sleeping arrangements. We would definitely stay here again!

Cute house...great for what my family needed.

Owners were great! The house is cute, although there are some sketchy properties behind the house that made me feel a little bit uncomfortable. (That said, I did walk alone to pickup breakfast in the mornings and felt comfortable doing that.) The back bedroom smells funny....otherwise we enjoyed our stay and the hospitality. Oh one note: the pictures show 3 bedrooms, so you may assume all 3 bedrooms are available to you. We did, only to learn when we got there that the 3rd bedroom (an art studio with a Murphy bed) isn't set up as a bedroom unless you have 6 people. This wasn't made clear. I have 3 kids and planned to put my daughter in the 3rd bedroom; boys were going to share the twin beds in the 2nd bedroom. The owner asked in advance if we needed a blowup bed for my toddler...I assumed she was thinking we might still have him in a crib and so we might not want him in a real twin bed. As it turns out, she was asking because she wasn't planning to make the 3rd bedroom available to us. It wasn't a big deal, and we set up the blowup bed after all, and it was fine. Kids were happy and comfortable. Really it was just a miscommunication. But I do think that, because the pictures show 3 bedrooms, if the 3rd bedroom isn't part of the deal, that should be explicitly stated.

I was in town for a wedding, and my mom came along with me to make it a girls’ trip. The location was fantastic - centrally located, so I could walk to all of my events within five minutes. My mom enjoyed exploring downtown and just relaxing on the porch while I was busy, but we also took time to check out some of the fun dining recommendations that Miki and Tom left for us.All of the art throughout the space was so fun and colorful! The rooms/beds were comfy, and the water pressure in the shower was fantastic, which is definitely not always the case when traveling.Miki and Tom were great with communication and let us know that they were available if we needed anything or wanted more recommendations or just to have a chat, but they were not at all overbearing. All in all, this was a wonderful place to stay in downtown Chattanooga - I showed pictures and bragged about our accommodations to several of the bridal party and guests, and everyone agreed we had the best spot. I would definitely stay here again, and I heartily recommend it to anyone looking for a fun spot close to all of the downtown fun.

We had a wonderful stay at the property. The kitchen was very well stocked, with all the items to prepare your own meal, if desired. The location is phenomenal. It was close by to some fantastic restaurants on Main Street. We were able to walk (1.6miles) to the riverfront to watch the Ironman Race that our friend was participating in. It was a warm weekend in Chattanooga, and the house, despite being an older home, kept us very cool. The beds are comfortable and each bedroom has a ceiling fan in it. Would recommend!!!!

Location is in walking district of many places to eat, the old train station and some very nice speakeasys. We drove to the Tennessee railroad museum and the Southern Belle Sunset cruise, both very nice. The house was beautiful and artistically decorated and all around comfortable for lounging and sleeping. The only thing i would suggest would be to keep a bottle of olive oil or something for those who like to cook in.

We came to Chattanooga on an ArtsMove Grant from Bradenton, Florida where we were one of a group of artists instrumental in creating The Village of the Arts, the largest arts enclave on the Gulf Coast.

Why they chose this property

We fell in love with Chattanooga, and being urban pioneers, we love living right downtown. There is so much happening in this medium sized culturally rich city with a myriad of activities for singles and families alike.

What makes this property unique

We are walking distance to great restaurants and right around the corner from the free electric shuttle bus or bike rentals along the way to take you anywhere around downtown ending at the Tennessee River. The Aquarium, live theatre, Symphony, movie theatre and much much more. And there is off-street parking behind the house.
