A little history: The Golden Triangle is located right in the heart of Bordeaux. It is bounded by the Allées de Tourny, the Cours de l'Intendance and the Cours Georges Clemenceau. It forms a perfect triangle, with a major Bordeaux landmark at each vertex: Place Tourny, the Opéra National de Bordeaux and Place Gambetta. It also has the Place des Grands-Hommes at its center. This district was created in 1790 by the architect Chalifour. The area was occupied almost exclusively by convents before the Revolution, and is still home to the church of Notre-Dame, formerly the church of Saint-Dominique, built in 1634. Over the decades, the area was gradually transformed into the luxury district we know today. Bordeaux's golden triangle is historically the city's most beautiful and wealthiest district. It is home to a large number of private mansions, luxury shops and boutiques, and numerous jewelers and goldsmiths. That's why it's now known as the Golden Triangle.
Public transport : - Tram: Lines B, C and D ‘Quinconces’, 400 m on foot - Vcub: Free Vcub bike hire station 100 m away, easy to visit and get around Bordeaux
Other remarks : - Bed linen and towels included. - Free Wi-Fi available (fiber optic). - Pets are not allowed in the accommodation. - For greater comfort : ironing board and iron.

Very good

The location was great, the flat was very clean and the check-in very well done, so you may wonder why we have only given this apartment 3 stars.Reason is it’s a bit tired and really needs somebody to carry out some fairly easy improvements and normal maintenance. I’m not going to list all that was wrong on this review but will be emailing Cocoon and they should inform the owner hopefully who will act. So perhaps before booking just ask Cocoon if they have carried out the maintenance that the guests highlighted to them that stayed in mid Sept 2025. If the maintenance has been carried out then this is a good place to stay for two people.

The Old School Great apartment in fabulous central location - everywhere within Bordeaux walkable. And little square the apartment is in is gorgeous - one of the gems of Bordeaux - the Baroque church - is literally outside your front door! Also the Parking Garage of Grand Hommes (and the Carrefour supermarket) is just a few steps away.

The Old School Quite basic and rather worn (e.g cracked and missing tiles)…but location is excellent so for the price paid it was an excellent deal. The shower is notably odd as it makes a sound not too dissimilar to someone screaming into your ear. Our host Tristan was great and was very quick and easy to communicate with for arranging the check in.

The Old School "Location is amazing, heart of Bordeaux with tones of great restaurants shops and place to have a drink around.
The apartment is cute, spacious for a couple and clean.
We had a great stay.
Cons is the exit request and messages from COCOONR, having to review the concierge the day of arriving when we will do another review at the end didn’t feel good and having to do our own dishes, take the trash out, glass to a glass container when we already pay for cleaning and threatening to charge more if we don’t do it properly is not correct my opinion. That should be part of the cleaning fee.
Small thing, I still put 5 starts since we had a good stay but next time I’ll book an hotel instead."
1. The cleaners forgot to replace the towels in the bathroom, and the person who checked us in couldn't deliver them until the next day. Therefore we had to buy hand towels since there was nothing with which wash/dry ourselves. We called the main office who said that they would contact the local office in Bordeaux, but no one called us back.2. The vibration from what seemed to be the air extractor for the building above the bedroom was so loud that we had to sleep on the sofa bed in the living room. When we removed the sheets from the bed to make up the sofa bed, we discovered a large blood stain on the mattress pad. We called the main office again to report this, and again they said that they would contact the local office who never called us. 3. The kitchen was not fully equipped as advertised.4. There were cracked tiles in the bathroom, and there were no hooks or shelves to accommodate toiletries. 5. The only place to hang our clothes was the broom closet.6. We asked about getting a refund if we were to find another apartment, and we were told that we would have to file a claim. After what we had experienced the first two days of our stay, we knew that we would never get our money back had we cancelled the rest of our stay. The accommodations were so inadequate that we stayed at another location for several days in order to relax and escape from the constant droning noise made by the air extractor.Photos are available. Let us know how to send them to you.
