The house was very nice with all the necessities needed for a comfortable stay. Our family had a fun time playing ping pong and darts in the game room and then relaxing in the hot tub afterwards. The owner was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. We would definitely stay again!
The place had good colorful positive energy and loads of useful amenities and fun gadgets. Beds were cozy and there was plenty of space for our large family to gather comfortably. It was nicely decorated for the holidays and we immediately felt welcomed! The host was super attentive and answered questions promptly. It was a lovely setting and memorable Christmas vacation.
It was perfect. We loved the open living room & kitchen area to all be together. The game room was well used with lots of laughter and memories. The clear night skies were enjoyed from the hot tub and Wild Uno around the outdoor table. We had such a special time as a family, this was the getaway we all needed.

The house was lovely with all sorts of little extras that made it an even better stay. I really appreciated the personalized touches. We were celebrating my daughter's 16th birthday and there were birthday decorations and treats. The host was very thoughtful about suggesting things we might enjoy doing. This is a great location for larger groups, either as your home base or your staycation.

What a wonderful cabin! Stayed with grown children and extended family. The cabin was immaculate and well appointed. The kitchen is well stocked and had every appliance and spice needed for all of our meals. We enjoyed the hot tub and were happy to have the washer to wash our suits before heading home. I sent a couple messages to the owner for quick questions and she responded immediately.
This cabin was perfect for a getaway, loved the mountain views.

I brought together more than a dozen friends, some of whom rarely had opportunities to take vacations or exist in accepting environments, and we had the time of our lives. Over 14 days we saw such beauty and experienced such joy. The house provided the perfect platform for that experience. Some of us became so close during our 2 weeks "living" here that we decided to move in together. Thanks so much Brigitte!

Perfect for a get together with friends in the Colorado wilderness
Absolutely loved our stay here. Location was perfect, felt remote enough for us, but still close to Nederland which had everything we needed for good dining, groceries and shopping. Also in great proximity to lots of fantastic day-hikes from easy to strenuous. Hot tub was perfect for sore muscles after days filled with being outdoors. The cabin was clean, had a great assortment of anything we could need, the host was responsive and really made us feel welcome with all sorts of special touches. The game room made for a fun evening of friendly competition, and the fireplace was a nice way to relax in the evenings. We couldn't have asked for anything better. Truly a great place to stay.

This property was amazing. Highly recommend! We starting our days sitting on the deck watching the sun rise with coffee to amazing mountain views! Then ended our nights in the hot tub watching the stars. Retreat for sure! So many amenities and thought put into what visitors would need too! Espresso maker, bluetooth speaker and games were a hit! This VRBO had the easiest check out I have ever done because "your on vacation" why should you strip the beds and start the laundry. I loved reading that from the owner!

5 dads from the band THE KILLIGANS stayed here last weekend and had a blast getting a little time away from our busy family lives in Nebraska. We typically do an annual ski/snowboard trip as payment to ourselves for playing music all year, but the trip was on hiatus the last few years due to the pandemic.
First off, the check in process was simple and easy. All instructions were sent well in advance. Directions well laid out. No suprises. To be fair, I am very familiar with the Nederland/Peak to Peak area as I have been visiting for 20+ years. If you dont know the area, just watch the signs because there are a lot of twists and turns on the highway.
The drive from Nederland was about 7 miles and took about 10-15 minutes each time. As mentioned, tons of twists and turns but an easy, picturesque drive. We saw a big moose the first day, same moose with baby second day, and a different moose (just the rear end, while it's head was buried in a tree) the way home!
The driveway proved to be the only issue for us. I had a loaded down Suburban with some iffy 4 wheel drive (which is notoriously bad in snow regardless). The snowpack made it very slick, and the driveways turn 90degrees to the left on the way up. Once my 4 low kicked in we had no issues getting in the rest of the trip. The owner was kind enough to have the neighbor plow the driveway a little more for us and was immediately responsive when I let her know our troubles. But be aware (as the description says) you will need 4x4 or all wheel drive, or chains to get up this road if it has snow.
Inside the house, they have provided about anything you need to make yourself at home. Kitchen is fully stocked with tons of utensils, plates, pots, pans, etc. We ate downtown most of the time but did make use of the grill to make dinner one night. Coffee machine was up to par, even have a Nespresso (with pods) if that's more your style.
Bedrooms were all great with big, fluffy comforters and tons of pillows. Beds were all great. Bathrooms were all as expected, lots of room for everyone.
We appreciated the quality wifi, and cable TV. Used HULU just like we would at home. Lots of time watching shows on the massive couch at night.
Hot tub right out the back door helped us wind down the night after realizing how much older we are now after a day of skiing/snowboarding. Stars are big and bright up here.
All in all, this is a great place to stay, with top notch owners!

About the host
Hosted by Brigitte Johnson
I am a mom of 5 teen/young adults and 5-7 dogs (depending on if we have foster puppies). Brice and I have been married for 28 years, have lived in the Rockies for 6 years and are in love with the mountain lifestyle. The slower pace, genuine people, and ability to be outdoors in the sunshine year round makes us happy! Our family loves to ski and snowboard at the local resorts, hike on the endless amounts of trails, and I recently took up mountain biking. We love people, animals, and serving others. We are honored to provide a remarkable space and experience for our guests.
Why they chose this property
We have been looking for an additional home for family and friends that come to visit up in these gorgeous mountains. Peak to Peak Retreat had all the things we were looking for. A HUGE aspen grove surrounding the home that gives that unmistakable "quaking" sound when the wind blows. The mountain view off the front wrap-around deck. The hot tub to relax in after a day of exploring. The location is incredible- secluded, but has quick access to the highway to get wherever you might want to go. A gas station/convenience store just around the corner; and the wondeful, quirky town of Nederland 5 minutes down the road. Nederland has a grocery store, liquor store, local restaurants and breweries, a winery, 2 gas stations, and loads of attractions and experiences to keep you busy for weeks. In April you can experience the famous Frozen Dead Guy Festival even! Yep, that's a real thing!
What makes this property unique
Southwest Luxury is our theme for the interior of our Retreat. We have designed and decorated this home with our honored guests in mind. We want our guests to sink into their beds and get deep sleep and wake up at their leisure. Wander through the kitchen to get a cup of steaming hot local, organic coffee or a cappuccino (we are huge coffee lovers, so have provided lots of options) and spend time on the expansive deck soaking in the beauty and peace of the gorgeous trees and clean mountain air. Days can be full of any adventures you can think of. We are always available to give suggestions, if wanted. Hiking, biking, rafting, canoeing, skiing, snow shoeing, paddle boarding, shopping and sightseeing in Boulder, Nederland, and Denver. At the end of the day, gathering on the deck to grill, relax in the hot tub, and then watch the sun go down. It doesn't get any better than that!!! We are excited to welcome our guests and provide an unparalleled experience that will leave you rested and rejuvenated. Brice and Brigitte Johnson
