Nice house near central market with garden: La Rochelle on foot/by bike!

Charming, fully renovated stone house, located a 7-minute walk from the central market, the town center, and the Old Port, and 15 minutes from the beach. This family home is close to all amenities (bakeries, pharmacy, Carrefour Market, and Picard frozen food stores are all within easy reach) and public transport.

This bright and spacious 120m² house features a lovely terrace, garden, vegetable patch, bicycle storage, and easy but time-limited street parking. Free parking is also available a 6-minute walk away. We love:

1- The location!!! Just steps from the central market, yet easily accessible by car, unlike the city center. Drop off your luggage, park, and then do everything on foot or by bike!

2- The garden and vegetable patch, a small, cool, and leafy haven of peace – and the large terrace, perfect for leisurely meals :)
3- The charm of the old world combined with modern comforts; completely renovated, the house is very comfortable.

In the main house you will find:
On the ground floor:
A master suite with a queen-size bed, reading lights, a dressing room, a bathroom with shower and sink, and two tilt-and-turn windows with electric roller shutters.

A spacious entrance hall with shoe storage and a wardrobe.

A large, fully equipped kitchen with a worktop extension that seats four and opens onto the terrace.

A storage area with shelves that serves as a pantry.

A toilet (where the water heater and medicine cabinet are located, in a small wooden unit).

A large opening and two steps lead to the living/dining room.

A wooden table comfortably seats 6 people (an extension for 8 is available upon request).
The cozy living room features two armchairs, a sofa, and Moroccan poufs. Two bookcases are also available!

A wood-burning stove completes the furnishings.

A projector transforms the living room into a private cinema in seconds :)

A wooden staircase leads to the upper floor.

A small landing provides access to a bathroom with a bathtub, sink, and toilet.

Two bedrooms, each with its own mezzanine.

The first bedroom has a double bed (140x190 cm) on a mezzanine – accessible via a wooden spiral staircase, 1.60 m high at the ridge, creating a cozy "nest"-style sleeping space under the eaves. A skylight with a roller shutter has just been installed for ventilation during hot weather.

The second bedroom has a single bed (90x190 cm) and a double bed (sofa bed 140x190 cm) in the mezzanine (also equipped with a skylight).

A travel cot is available upon request.
All windows and doors have electric roller shutters and tilt-and-turn openings.

The bedding is new and comfortable. The living room lights are adjustable. The house has fiber optic internet and good Wi-Fi.
Water diffusers are installed on the houseplants; if they look a little unhappy, please water them!

We live in our house year-round with our two children; we renovated it entirely ourselves with love, so please forgive any minor imperfections you might find :)
