At just over 3000 sq ft, the house offers multiple gathering areas that include (3) separate living room areas, a sociable kitchen, and a pool table and a bar. A perfect home for a retreat. There are cameras that provide views of outside the home. You will see on the main level one interior camera that is turned off during your stay, and welcome you to unplug it. The outdoor cameras remain on 24hrs for monitoring those in/out of property, and picks up a corner of the hot tub just to make sure it is not left uncovered overnight.

The two bedrooms on the top floor each have their own full bathroom. The Master suite has both a jacuzzi and a glass enclosed stand up shower.

The third bedroom is found on the main floor. Directly adjacent to this bedroom is a 3/4 bathroom that has a stand up shower stall.

The main level is fully open and includes a full kitchen, dining area, and two separate lounging areas. One of the lounging areas has a fireplace. Directly off the main level is a full home width deck which includes an outdoor dining table with chairs, as well as two lounge chairs. The lower level is one large open space that includes a lounge area with its' own fireplace, a pool table area and a seating and bar area at one end. Also on this level you will find a half bath for your convenience. Tucked away is also an office that has a full size desk, chair, and a computer monitor that has an HDMI cable that you can simply plug your computer into. This level also has a similar view to the outside from nearly all areas on the open area. Additionally, there is a door to the outside which leads you to where there is a gas grill for your use during your stay. The tank is filled with gas for your use during your stay. Also outdoors is a fire pit with seating and a BREEO pit and grill. We have a brand new hot tub located on the upper deck that was just installed mid-April 2022. This comes with your stay from Labor Day through Memorial Day holidays. The hot tub can be made available during your stay for the summer for an additional cost, so please let us know if booking in summer and wish to have this available. Fireplaces are also available for your use during the entirety of your stay. Instructions and supplies to start and manage a fire are provided in the home. We also provide thorough instructions with our pre check-in notes that we make available just prior to your arrival. We assume the fireplace will be used only from Nov/Dec through Feb/March, depending on the weather. If you intend to use the fire place at times outside these months, please let us know so that we can provide the instructions as we assume you will not be using them outside of late fall and winter. To expedite your booking, please provide us the following information when submitting request to book: Please confirm the total number of guests, whether dog(s) will be accompanying you and the ages of all guests including your fur babies, 2) Where are you traveling from, your home base, 3) Please indicate that you have read and agree to all the house rules that are included in our listing.

The house is very spacious with enough room for everyone to do their own thing. There are so many plants and decorations that it takes away from the beauty of the house. My favorite thing was the hot tub which was very relaxing.

Gorgeous views
Pro’s. House was spacious inside and out. Owners left kind welcome gifts was a nice treat as you walk through the door! Cons…the owners have a lot of decor in the house not room to put out your own belongings. For us personally it was overwhelming as we are the opposite and although you are advised there a cameras you don’t realize how intrusive they feel until you’re there Over all we had a relaxing quiet stay and enjoyed our time

A Charming Chalet in Southwest Vermont
I am so impressed with every aspect of my experience. From the owners' impeccable responsiveness to their thoughtful provisions for both humans and furry friends, this place truly exceeded my expectations. First and foremost, the owners' prompt responsiveness was commendable. From the moment I made the inquiry to the day I departed, they were always just a call or text away, ready to assist with any questions or concerns. Their warm and friendly demeanor added an extra touch of hospitality, making us feel truly welcome throughout our stay. One of the highlights was the owners' thoughtfulness in providing snacks and even towels and blankets for our four-legged companion. It's rare to find accommodations that go the extra mile to cater to our furry friends, but this chalet truly understands the importance of making every guest feel comfortable and at home. The chalet's basement deserves a special mention. Despite the absence of air conditioning on that floor and there being only window units on the first floor, the basement remained the coolest part of the home, offering a refreshing retreat during the warm summer days. My only recommendation is to have some type of ac option on the top floor. It was nice to have the use of fans. While the Wi-Fi connection was slightly weak, it was a minor inconvenience. The views that greeted us every day were breathtaking. The pictures on VRBO simply don’t do justice to the beauty that awaits you in person.

About the host

Host profile image
Allyson and Mark host this space.

Allsyon can wear so many hats and has many talents, too many to list here. She is very friendly and her vast knowledge and experience enables her to talk to anyone. The dogs you see in the pictures are all hers, and they absolutely love roaming and playing in the yard of this home as well as laying anywhere they desire taking a nap. One of her talents is as an artist. Some of the artwork on the walls are her originals.

Mark is a structural engineer who designs buildings of all shapes and sizes worldwide. I'm originally from north central CT and often took trips and visited relatives in VT growing up.

We both live and work in the NY city area, and are blessed to have this as our getaway. Whether that be for pleasure or to work remotely.

Why they chose this property

The beauty and comfort of the home by itself, we love. However, the location is a great balance of being disconnected from city living without being too isolated, and we love the local food.

What makes this property unique

We believe the view is unique to any home in this area, and with it's proximity to so many options of activities, shopping, and typical VT draws (shopping, apple picking, etc.), it is tough to beat.

Many guests, friends and family simply love being at the home and enjoying the peace of it all, and come back for repeat visits.
