About this property

Walk to National Park! Mountain Cabin w/ Fireplace

Relax with the whole family at the Rocky Mountain High cabin, adjacent to the Big Thompson River and a block from trailheads into Rocky Mountain National Park (Permit 20-NCD0246). This retreat has it all -- stargaze from the deck, spend a winter evening curled up in front of the fireplace, or prep a great meal for the entire family in the full kitchen.

+ 3 minutes to the town's best restaurants
+ 5 minute drive to the park Visitor Center
+ 5 minute drive to town

Great for groups up to 6.

Real quick -- house rules:

No early check in or late checkouts. Check in is 4pm or later; check out is 10am or earlier. No smoking in the house or entire neighborhood. No parties, no pets, no open fires. 2 cars & 6 guests max. Guests must start a load of dishes and a laundry load of towels/hand towels/washcloths at checkout (we have negotiated a lower cleaning fee based on this). Accurate guest count mandatory.

Onward!

We welcome you to stay at our cozy cabin about 1.5 blocks away from the National Park boundary and trailheads winding along the base of Eagle Cliff Mountain into Moraine Park. Due to the location of our neighborhood (so close to so much open space) you will very likely see off our deck what so many other neighbors and guests have seen: elk, deer, bobcats, turkeys, birds, bears and even mountain lions if you're lucky!

Our two story, 1000-square-foot cabin features three bedrooms, 2 baths, and an open lower floor with an attached kitchen, dining and living area. Big windows let in lots of natural light, and the design encourages gatherings of friends and family. Speedy wifi throughout ensures your entire group can stream Netflix or get a lot of work done if needed.

The newly remodeled kitchen has everything you need to prep a great meal for your family, a deck BBQ lets you grill up a storm, and a cozy fireplace in the living room gives you a place to relax when the snow begins to fall.

BEDROOMS

Bedroom 1 on the main floor features a king bed, television, and attached full bathroom that also opens into the kitchen.

Bedroom 2 on the second floor features a bunk bed with views out toward the mountains and river below, as well as a TV.

Bedroom 3, also on the second floor, also had a king bed plus a large television.

KITCHEN & DINING

Kitchen - A fully stocked kitchen features a microwave, fridge with ice maker, dishes and utensils for your group of 6, a drip coffee maker, dishwasher, and gas oven. Smaller appliances like a toaster, blender and kettle complete the package.

Dining - We have two dining areas: the kitchen features a small island to hang out while the chef cooks, and a gorgeous farmhouse dining table features seating for six.

LAUNDRY

Laundry - Feel free to our new and very large washer and dryer

Guests will have full access to our home, which includes:

3 bedrooms (2 kings, 1 bunk bed)
1 open dining/kitchen/livingroom (with fireplace)
Small deck with grill
Washer and dryer
Neighborhood picnic area
Common area access from the HOA to the riverbank
2 on-street parking spaces reserved for the cabin

We have turned over management to The Wolf Rentals, and you will see messages from our cohosts Nathan, Nancy and Matt. They have hosted more than 10,000 vacationers in Estes Park and we have entrusted them to provide you with an excellent stay!

This home is in the lovely Aspen Brook HOA, a collection of homes on the banks of the Big Thompson River. The HOA common land offers several hundred feet of river to fish in, but you can also simply walk across Highway 66, about a block away, and head into the National Park to fish in Moraine Park. Getting there is about a 20 minute hike.

The HOA has some important rules: no motorcycles, ATVs, trailers or RVs. We have neighborhood quiet hours from 9pm to 8am. No pets of any kind, and absolutely no smoking in the entire neighborhood.

There is a neighborhood picnic area and play area for kids.

Within 1.5 miles are the two best restaurants in Estes Park (Bird & Jim and the Rock Inn) or drive a few miles down 66 (past the YMCA of the Rockies) to Portal Campground and great hiking without the crowds.

The best part of this neighborhood is you can leave the house walk straight into the National Park, with the boundary being about 2 blocks away. You can also drive to the entry station without having to brave downtown traffic, as the home is on the west side of town. If you want to go downtown and don't want to deal with parking, the town offers a free shuttle service during the summer months with a stop about a mile and a half away.

NOISE

Events, loud music and noises, and parties are strictly prohibited. Please be respectful of your noise level so I can maintain good relationships with my neighbors.

ADDITIONAL & NONPAYING GUESTS

Nonpaying and non-registered guests are not allowed on property.

AIR CONDITIONER

Like nearly every other home in town, there’s no A/C. Thankfully mountain air blows down from the high peaks and will cool down the place quickly in the evenings if you open the windows.

HOUSE AND NEIGHBORHOOD RULES

My neighborhood has rules to ensure serenity and privacy. By booking you are agreeing to them: no pets, no RVs, no motorhomes, no motorcycles, no open flames, quiet hours from 9PM to 8AM, requirement to observe 15mph on neighborhood roads, and absolutely no smoking anywhere (not inside, not outside, and not even in the neighborhood!).

BEARS

Do NOT leave food in your car! Bears frequent this area and can break in!

We use a Minut noise meter. It doesn't record audio, but instead monitors decibel levels, temperature and humidity. This is for the safety of guests & to protect the home. It also serves to warn us about parties & prevent noise complaints from neighbors. It's located on the cieling in the kitchen.
THIS IS IN AN HOA. BY BOOKING YOU AGREE TO THE FOLLOWING HOUSE AND NEIGHBORHOOD RULES, AND ASSUME LIABILITY FOR FINES IF RULES ARE BROKEN

1. No parties, loud noises, unregistered guests
2. Neighborhood quiet hours from 9pm to 8am.
3. No smoking anywhere inside or outside the home or even in neighborhood. Closest smoking is 3 blocks away.
4. No RVs, motorcycles, ATVs or trailers
5. Parking for 2 cars only
6. No open flames in house or neighborhood
7. Self check in after 4pm and check out before 10am, no exceptions
8. No illegal internet use
9. Guests agree to start dishes in dishwasher and a load of towels, hand towels and dish rags in the washer.
