The Drooly Bear is a secluded log cabin getaway in the woods. Just a few miles from Trough Creek State Park Headquarters, this rustic, romantic vacation destination will allow you to escape the rat race and enjoy each other, your family, and nature.

As you decompress on the deck, you'll enjoy the peace and quiet of the woods. If it's raining, enjoy the sound of the rain as it falls while you sit in the swing under the covered portion of the deck. If it's chilly, go inside and get cozy near the wood burning stove or play a game or two in The Loft.

Get your exercise by hiking the numerous trails in Trough Creek State Park or playing at Raystown Lake. Enjoy fine dining at Mimi's in Huntingdon (about 35 minutes away) or grab a sandwich at a local sandwich stop or country store.

Whether it's a family vacation, a reunion of friends, or a romantic weekend, you'll enjoy the peace and quiet away from every day life and be able to rest, relax, and recharge. Come and enjoy the Drooly Bear.

For insurance purposes you must notify us of any pets that come to the cabin. A $250 fee will be applied if you choose not to notify.
Please be respectful to my caretaker and leave the cabin as you found it. A $150 fee will be applied if excessive cleaning is required.

I stay at a lot of properties on various sites and this was by far the cleanest property I’ve ever stayed at. I travel with my three dogs and a lot of times pet. Friendly places are not as clean as other properties. This was not the case also the thoughtfulness of all the Little gifts in each room was great. I would definitely recommend to anyone and I will definitely be back.

Large roomy cabin , set up to handle families . Plenty of room for everyone. Didn’t need anything as the large kitchen was fully loaded , there were towels and bedding. On site washer and dryer made it nice . Big tv in the living room and lots of places to sit and unwind . Nice firepit to gather round and a big wood stove inside for fires in winter months. Host was awesome. We will be back !

We really enjoyed our stay at Drooly Bear Cabin. The cabin was very comfortable and fit our needs well as we were in the area for a family reunion. The grandkids enjoyed the cabin stay and playing outside. We actually had a very large black bear visit the first night. Matt was a great host to work with through the process. Thanks again!

Excellent, enjoyed the porch watching it rain. Heard some noise that was made by wildlife larger than a raccoon, it was dark so couldn’t see what it was. Missed campfire due to the rain, but environment was worth the trip! Would definitely recommend Drooly Bear Cabin.

Great and well appointed cabin, good location for checking out Lincoln Caverns. Helps to know how to operate a wood stove if you're going during the cold time of year (we did and had no issue with it). Would definitely book again.

We had a great time at the cabin surrounded by amazing ferns. Matt, our host, was very communicative, professional, and kind. He responded to our needs immediately and answered all of our questions effectively. Wifi was strong, which was great because we did not have any cell service. We loved the wood stove during our chilly, rainy weekend!

We stayed at Drooly Bear Cabin while visiting my son at Juniata. The cabin had many amenities that suited us. Pet friendly being one of them. The overall place was clean and host had AC units installed with warmer weather over the weekend. Host was great to work with and very accommodating. Would recommend this place to anyone visiting Raystown Lake area.

My group stayed for a winter weekend and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The cabin was larger than expected and well equipped for all our needs. The wood burning stove was amazing and there was plenty of wood for a long weekend. We enjoyed hiking in Trough Creek State Park and the Cassville Country store. Matt the host is on point, would recommend the Drooly!

We had a wonderful stay at Drooly Bear Cabin! A few highlights of our stay was that there was plenty of room, it was clean, many things were provided (firewood, towels, linens, etc), and the owner was very nice and went out of his way to check on us to see if there was anything else we needed. The location was also great being very close to State Game Lands and to Raystown lake (10 min. drive).
