Squirrel's Nest eclipse stay 2024
We chose the Squirrel's Nest because it was within the 2024 eclipse path of totality. As a bonus it was near Bissel Brothers Three Rivers brewery and taproom, which I'd always wanted to visit but had little other reason to drive almost five hours just for a few beers. We thoroughly enjoyed the stay here. There was plenty of room for the four of us. The kitchen had everything one could need and was well stocked with many food items, which is not typical in most home rentals. We stayed in April so it was a bit chilly at night despite the warm daytime temperatures. To remedy the nightime chill, we fired up the wood burning stove and enjoyed hanging out playing games by the warmth of the stove. The bedrooms were comfortable and with the windows open a crack, we awoke to the sounds of loons swimming on the picturesque lake behind the house. There was still ice on the pond, but if we were here in warmer weather, there were three kayaks in the garage for our use. Maybe next time! I would very much reccommend the Squirrel's Nest for anyone looking for a secluded getaway in northern Maine to disconnect and relax.

February vacation
We had a great time snowmobiling out of the cabin. The trails were easily accessible off the lake or going down the road. We had a great time and will be staying again.

Excellent
The cabin was just as shown in the pictures, if not better. The location is just far enough out from town, but close enough to venture out if needed for essentials. The cabin was fully stocked with all the comforts of home. I was able to cook full meals for my family each night in the spacious kitchen and had the option to grill. The lake is quiet and peaceful with many avian sightings. By far the most exciting view was watching a Kingfisher dive near the dock for his freshwater snacks. The kids enjoyed kayaking and fishing around the lake catching bass and pickerel. The fire place was also a nice end to cool the evenings. Sherry, the property owner was kind and easy to communicate with. She notified us when the cabin was ready and ensured an easy entry. We couldn't have asked for more and will certainly return for another stay.

Cozy cabin at a beautiful spot at the lake
The location was astonisching with a stunning view over the lake. The cabin was cozy, cleaned up and offered a lot of privacy. It is near Baxter State Park and Gulf Hagas. The cabin and its location was truly beyond our expactations. A good place to relax and perfect place to return to after a nice outdoorday.

The perfect Maine lakeside getaway
This cabin was beautifully decorated and very clean. Private and wonderfully quiet. Coffee at sunrise on the dock or deck listening to the loons. Kayaking and fishing everyday. Thank you for sharing your beautiful cabin.
