About this property
3 Bedroom Cabin at Autumn Dancer Llama Farm...Pet Friendly...Fenced Yard
Are you an animal lover who would love to vacation at a place where there is peace and quiet as well as all kinds of animals, both domestic and wildlife, to watch? Do you stress when planning a vacation because you can’t bring your dog(s) along? Would you like to have unlimited long distance calling available rather than trying to use your cell phone in our mountainous area? Then Cabin at Autumn Dancer Llama Farm is the place for you. The cabin is situated on 17 acres of beautifully rolling hills directly below Meadow Creek Mountain. For your canine family members (we allow up to 5 dogs..size doesn't matter), we offer 1/2 -acre of fenced backyard so that they may run and frolic as well as a fenced deck. We've replaced the backyard fence and have added pictures showing the cabin with the new fence.
Our cabin has three bedrooms and two full baths. The Master bedroom has a king sized bed, and its own bathroom. The other two bedrooms each have a queen-sized bed.
The kitchen is fully stocked with pots and pans, a crock pot, electric roaster pan, coffee pot, toaster oven, four-slice toaster, and many other items for folks who want to do their own cooking. There is seating for 6 at the kitchen table.
The living room has a flat screen TV with a DVD player available for your convenience.
The back porch is where everyone likes to sit and enjoy the view. There is a large hot tub on the deck with two separate sitting areas. We have a professional gas grill that is hooked up to our large propane tank so you will never have to worry about bringing your own propane. There are also BBQ utensils so you don't have to bring your own. The backyard and upper deck are fully fenced for the safe containment of your pets and younger children.
Our Farm:
We have a working farm in the foothills of the Cherokee National Forest. Our farm is 100+ years old (it was originally a dairy farm back in 1900) and has an extensive history. The cabin was originally the hired man's house (although it has been totally renovated) and the 100+ farmhouse across the street is where we live. A road divides the cabin and the farmhouse which allows everyone to have their privacy. We will welcome our guests when they first check in to make sure everything is okay at the cabin. We are out and about twice a day to feed the Llamas and horses; if our guests have questions about the Llamas/horses then we are available. We are always available if there are issues with the cabin. Otherwise, we try and stay invisible so our guests have their privacy.
Our five equines (including a miniature mule and one miniature donkey) will often come up to the back fence to welcome the “newcomers.” It’s amazing how many dogs have never been “up close and personal” with a horse! It will be like a dude ranch for you and your dogs!
Near sundown, our guests find it very entertaining to watch the "equines" in the pasture. All of our equines are rescued animals, so it’s especially heartwarming to see them enjoying life.
Our Llamas are housed in a pasture that has a barn on both ends of the pasture. Lately, they have been staying in the barn area towards the back of the pasture, although they will come up to greet cabin guests. There's a nice "avenue" that guests can walk down to see the Llamas if they are in the back barn. We are so happy to have these wonderful animals as a part of our farm family!
If you are going to arrive after dark then PLEASE let us know...we send directions but it is difficult in a rural area to follow directions after sunset. We encourage all of our guests to please try to arrive before dark...otherwise contact us so we will be available if you need assistance driving to the cabin.

About the host
Hosted by Ed and Ginny Miller

We are Ginny & Ed Miller. I'm a native Texan (with roots in Tennessee) while Ed is from Upstate New York. We lived in the Clear Lake City, Texas area for 21 years where we worked for NASA/Johnson Space Center. From Houston, we moved to Colorado Springs for a year and then Washington, DC for 17 years. Ed worked for the Department of Defense while I worked in the human resources field in several different industries.
Why they chose this property
Ed's brother moved to Parrottsville and was married here. The reception was held at a local resort within walking distance of our cabin. Family members stayed at the cabin prior to us purchasing it from the resort, less than 6 months later. We fell in love with the quiet beauty of this area. It took us almost 4 years before we were able to move to Parrottsville and enjoy this 'little piece of heaven' on a full-time basis.
What makes this property unique
The peace and quiet are something that can't be described. For people who live "life in the fast lane" the peacefulness of our farm can help our guests to become back "in balance." At night we don't have "light pollution" so the evening sky is beyond description. Many nights, we can see the Milky Way. Again, it's difficult to describe the beauty of walking outside and seeing a sky full of planets/stars with meteorites trailing across in the distance.
