the view is fantastic, there were several storms when we were there and the view in the living room was amazing. You can see the hills for miles. The cabin is very new and comfortable, very quiet location.
We had a great little weekend getaway with friends at this cabin. Beautiful views, large hot tub, well maintained property. The room setup was nice and the house was very clean. Overall, a great experience!

Hi Erin, thank you for staying with us at High Ridge Trail Lodge. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay!
We had an absolutely amazing time with our family during a 4 day stay in this beautiful cabin. The kitchen had every appliance, dish, platter, etc you could possibly need. The bathrooms were clean and well-stocked with towels. We loved hanging out in the living room, and appreciated the board games and fooseball table. The decks and hot tub were perfect to watch the sun rise/set and to view the passing storms. The location was great! Secluded, but a quick drive to food and attractions. Overall just a perfect getaway for our family (11 of us stayed comfortably - 6 adults and 5 kids).

We really enjoyed the house and was very clean. The only exception were the rafters and ceiling fans were noticeably dusty. The house was very comfortable and we had quick response to an issue with the fireplace. The handyman was friendly and easily resolved the issue. Great location, great views, and enjoyed the outdoor areas. Driveway was large enough to vehicles with 4 wheeler trailers. Would definitely come back.

Hi James, thank you for staying with us at High Ridge Trail Lodge. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and we will work with the cleaner to get those dusted.
What an incredible property and host. This home offered all we needed and more to make up a week filled with fun and relaxation! The host communication was clear, simple, and always helpful. The attention to detail of comforts and amenities in this home was impressive as well. Last, but definitely not least is the location. The views…just wow! But also, being close to Deadwood, Mt Rushmore, Keystone…all the fun things SD offers was great. We hope to be back again! We utilized this property for a family trip with our adult children and grandchild. We’ve been lots of places around the US and they all said, this was their favorite.

We were at Terry Peak for a wedding and the High Ridge Trail was the perfect location and setting. The beds and sheets were incredibly comfortable, the house was clean and as advertised. The property manager was quick to respond when we had questions and there were thorough instructions for check in and out. The view and setting was amazing from the decks and hot tub. It’s in a small “neighborhood” of cabins but the trees help block other properties well when you look out. None of the rooms had an attached bathroom, but there was one full bath on each floor. Equipped with the essentials for a wonderful time away with friends. Would highly recommend and would stay again!

Hi Michelle, thank you for staying with us at High Ridge Trail! We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and we would love to host you again!
We loved this property! I spent a lot of time researching cabin to find the perfect one for us, and this was it. The cabin is absolutely beautiful and has stunning views of the black hills as it’s at the top of a hill. There are three decks, and there is ample seating on the main deck for several people to hang out. The house was very clean and the wood floors are gorgeous. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals, and was well stocked with dishes and glasses which was awesome! The beds are so comfortable, the bedding was very soft, and there were plenty of towels. Each room and bathroom had hooks to hang towels and extra clothing which we found so convenient. The hot tub was great and we loved the foosball table! Having laundry available was so handy and above the dryer were lots of board games to play. The house had extra fans which I love to have for white noise. There are two other cabins near by which would make it great for large groups to stay near one another. Our group of three adults and 8 kids/teens had more than enough room to spread out and sleep comfortably. The location was very close to Terry Peak and only a few miles from Lead and Deadwood. Keystone, Rapid, and Custer State Park are about 45-60 minutes away, but we just planned our activities accordingly and it worked out great. We will definitely be back!

Hi Andrea, thank you for staying with us at High Ridge Trail Lodge! We are so glad you enjoyed your stay.
We lost track of what day of the week it was.....that is how great our Christmas vacation here was!! It started by walking in to a beautiful home decorated for the holidays (complete with a Christmas Tree) and ended with a soak in the hot tub with arguably the best view in The Hills. Add to the fact it was spotless and fully equipped, not to mention literally a 5 min drive to Terry Peak, and you have a 5 star rental! We loved our time here.

Thanks Mark! We are so happy to hear you enjoyed your Christmas vacation at The Lodge on High Ridge Trail. Thank you for staying with us and taking great care of the home - come stay with us again anytime!
First off, the cabin was beautiful and very clean. My family and I stayed in this house over the Thanksgiving holiday 2020 because it was advertised as being wheelchair accessible. This was true only to a certain extent. The access to the property was via a wide ramp, which was accessible with a wheelchair. Once in the the home, the first floor was very nice and easy to maneuver, including the kitchen and bedrooms. The lower floor was not accessible, because of the stairs, but that was to be expected. The major issue this house had for a wheelchair bound person was that the only bathroom on the main floor was not accessible. I could not get my chair to the side of the toilet to make a transfer. We had to take a bank of drawers out of the cabinets and squeeze my electric wheelchair between shower and bathroom cabinets. After getting as close to the toilet as possible, my husband strapped a gait belt around me and pulled me out of my wheelchair and somehow got me on the toilet. Needless to say, it was a terrible and unsafe way to use the toilet. A manual wheelchair would not have worked either, as we had mine in the car and measured to see if it would fit. Since it is such a great house otherwise, and the Black Hill views were spectacular, if you are able to use a walker for a few steps, perhaps you could manage to use the toilet. Also, there was a regular bathtub, so you would have to bring a shower chair.

Hi Erin, thank you for staying with us at High Ridge Trail Lodge. We are glad that for the most part you enjoyed your stay. We do apologize that the bathroom was not accessible with a wheelchair and we will look into fixing that. Thank you so much for letting us know.
This was a perfect place for my group of friends to reunite and catch up. It is located toward the end of a quiet street and there was not much traffic. The kitchen was well stocked with anything you might need to cook with. The beds and furniture were all very comfortable. The large decks and big windows in the living room were perfect for drinking coffee and watching wildlife. Thanks for sharing your home with us.
