You can even access local ATV trails right from the cabin that can take you all over the Northern Black Hills! It's perfectly located just a couple minutes from Cheyenne Crossing and the start to Spearfish Canyon, 15 minutes from Deadwood with taxi service, 5 minutes to Recreational Springs where you can link up to the snowmobile/ATV trail system and just 45 minutes from all the amazing sights like Mount Rushmore, Keystone, Custer State Park and more! Whether you're in the area to relax and take in the breathtaking views, or here to fill your heart with adventure, High Country Lodge will give you the perfect accommodations for your vacation.

After exploring all day, coming back to your very own cabin will be the icing on the cake. The kitchen features a gourmet kitchen with granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, hardwood hickory floors, and a polished rock dining room table. There's custom decor throughout the cabin and it's accented by large log pillars, vaulted ceilings, and a loft that overlooks the great room and a large rock fireplace! You'll love the 1100 square feet of covered wrap-around deck space with the best view in the area as well! The master bedroom is located on the main floor and has a walk out to the deck, king bed, flat screen tv and a private master bath with jacuzzi tub and heated tile flooring. The 2nd bedroom includes a queen bed with a walk out to the deck as well, and the loft is encapsulated by log pillars and a vaulted ceiling, with a large flat screen TV, a game table filled with multiple fun games, and 2 futons. The lower level has a large family room with another TV, wet bar, and walk out to the covered patio. There's also 2 more bedrooms on the lower level both with queen beds and a private bathroom. Family Vacation 2019

Our family comes to the Black Hills every summer and rents a cabin for our family vacation. We were pleased with this cabin and location. We were unable to use hot tub due to some issues, but other then that it was very accommodating. Plenty of linens and cooking supplies available. It’s located on Terry Peak so the views were wonderful off the wrap around deck. We would recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway. Gorgeous log cabin, bungalow in the hills, woodwork all throughout, and absolutely spectacular views. This beautiful home needs and deserves a deep cleaning from top to bottom with attention to detail including replacing / repairing items such as the reclining couch that does not recline on one end, a lamp in the downstairs bedroom that has no knob to turn it on or off, torn patio chair pads that have exposed stuffing, and pans that are scratched all the way through the top coating as a few. I let management know on our second day that the gas fireplace would not light, they directed us to instructions which did not work.4 days later I asked again and they provided the same instructions to us to figure it out. We had already done everything. It’s not the responsibility of guests to fix these things. Lastly, they have a significant fly issue inside and out. Every morning, I swept a pile of flies up and even though we did not have doors open without screen doors closed they still kept coming in. Management told me it was a bad year and it was basically normal. I understand that, and at the same time, the pileup of dead flies in the window tracks and around the edge of the floors under all the doors wasn’t just this year. They’re not being cleaned up and probably need to be sprayed. The place was beyond gorgeous, but it really needs some love and attention. One other thing, the entire side of the mountain is under massive construction, and build of infrastructure M-F.

We adventured around and truly enjoyed our surroundings of a beautiful view!! The cabin fit all 9 of us very comfortably. It was supplied really well for all our needs. Our only issue was finding out internet connection, which the owners helped out and it was taken care of and the stove was out (but we had a smaller toaster oven and grill to use) . The hot tub we could not use but that was ok with us as there is a beautiful deck to sit on and watch the sunsets. Overall we would recommend this beautiful home to anyone looking to stay by Terry Peak/ Lead / Deadwood area. Thanks for allowing our family to enjoy our vacation!!

Reviewer Comments: This property has a beautiful view and if you want a location to just stay holed up in the house and sit and look at the beautiful view then this is a great place for you. The house has very nice quality furniture. The only thing that wasn't comfortable was the bed in the bedroom next to the master bedroom. A light over the stove area would have been very nice as it was really dark whenever we were cooking anything on the stove. The kitchen has granite countertops and a granite table so I don't know why expense was spared for lights over the stove area. The house was very clean. Nice large living area space. There were no trash receptacles outside.

I know the owners can’t control this, but it’s something that should have been mentioned. Table saws, hammering and construction worker’s music blaring first thing in the morning till 5/6 pm in the evening. So sitting on the beautiful balcony with an amazing views with a table saw screeching isn’t that very relaxing. *When we first pulled up the trash cans were OVERFLOWING and trash had been scattered about (probably due to animals). We got there Saturday and told the rental company. The trash company picked up 3 days later. It was really smelling and you have to drive past it to get on and off the property... walking or driving. At one point, dogs were starting to come by and eat the trash. We had no place to put our trash since it was already overflowing. *The lightening in the kitchen was very dim. I don’t know what’s going on with that.

Nice Property But Disappointed

This is a very nice property but we were very disappointed with some of the furnishings and how things were handled to get them corrected. First it started the first day we arrived and found the hot tub empty. When we unloaded our luggage we found in the master bedroom the window blind was broken and stuck in the closet. One of the hangers for the blind was being held on by duct tape. There were 3 bags of garbage in the garage when we arrived, when opening up the windows we found many of the window sills to be filled with dead flies, not one or two but filled with dead flies. The grill was not covered and missing two of the knobs, there was a piece of the door frame to the front door that looked to be splintered off and laying on the floor. Contacted Budi the manager and explained what we found and found her to be a little defensive with what we were finding. We just wanted her to know that the cleaning crew they use was obviously not doing their job and wanted to know what was to be done with the hot tub. Long story short, repairs to the hot tub were not completed until the end of day 2, we had the property rented for 3 nights. I will give her credit for getting someone to come fill the hot tub around 9pm on our second night and we were able to use it on our last day there. Budi came to the cabin that night and we showed her the things we were finding and really didn't seem to worried about any of them. She told us just to hang a sheet over the door with the missing shade. We also were never able to get internet access either. When asked about some sort of a reimbursement for the hot tub we were told there would be no reimbursement since we were able to use it for 2 nights. Really? It was filled at 9pm the second night, don't know about you but not too interested in sitting in a hot tub filled with cold water. She had also assured us that the garbage would get taken out as well and was still sitting there when we left. It was noticed also that once we pointed out all of the things we found that it became increasingly harder to contact the manager as well. For what you pay a night and the customer has a detailed list of what is expected to be done in order to get your deposit back the road should go both ways. So sad to see this property managed this way. Property itself was very nice and views are beautiful but there definitely needs to be a change in ownership to someone that understands customer satisfaction.

Family Road Trip

This is a very nice property, on a mountain road with beautiful views. The area is still under development with only a few homes on the mountain. The house is clean to sleep at but lacks normal courtesies, otherwise I would have accepted the offer to leave/refund despite being 9PM and over an hour from any decent hotel. We've rented nearly a dozen similar homes from VRBO over the years. When you spend to rent a home like this one, it should be with little or no compromise. The unfortunate part is everything you'll read about in the prior reviews and more still exists. I spoke with the manager and she almost immediately took a defensive posture despite the fact that most of the items were possibly prior renter or maintenance items that I figured had not have been communicated. Turns out the manager said the last group to stay were the owners. I got no apology but plenty of excuses. I'll list below what we found but its clear the mentality is that regardless of the price, what they provide is supposed to be...good enough. Bag of open pretzels left in upstairs TV area. McD's trash left in kitchen garbage. Coffee Table glass has multiple cracks (Mgr known) be careful with young children. Frying Pan handles get very hot and can burn! Grill cover was on the ground, brushes laying around (blamed on 70MPH winds) but wind doesn't turn the bottle on too. Did not use grill because its heavily rusted (blamed on SD weather, told to cover with foil and it will work fine) New England weather is no different. Repair it, have renters spray it with PAM but don't make it our problem. Kitchen facet is loose in the sink mounting. 4 light bulbs are out in the house. Ceiling fan in downstairs bedroom is filthy. Dead Flies in some windows but many more in lamp shades that point upward. You'll see the shadows in the dining room light. Very few spoons. Just 3 glasses (different sizes) and one jelly jar! Some Solo and old plastics cups but Wine glasses, goblets and shot glasses galore. Very few plates that are not chipped. (We just ran the dishwasher after each meal) Towels smell after one use, washed them, same issue. They are just old and hold odor so we washed them after each use. Foil is used in the bottom of oven to keep it clean but it isn't replaced regularly. Oven fully smoked up at only 325 degrees when preheating it for warming bread. Fireplace remote doesn't work, even with new batteries. ETC... $600 at Target and a vacuum would fix most of this.

Terry Peak was right above us and lots of trails to ride with our side by side. The property was clean and well maintained. Plenty of room for the 6 of us. Nice loft area for the kids to play games or watch TV. Spacious bedrooms and three bathrooms. Magnificent sunsets off the deck. Highly recommend the property and we had no need to contact the property manager. We'll keep this in mind for a future stay.

Family Ski Trip

We enjoyed the stay at this beautiful house. It was a 2 car garage, but the one side had a skid loader with snow blower in it so we had to park one vehicle outside, which we survived, nothing tragic. The hot tub was ready when we pulled up. The kids loved the upstairs to call their sleeping spots. The kitchen was great, and yes as I read in one review the pan we used was not a not stick, again we survived. All in all this place was a great place to stay.
