Bar Harbor Oceanfront Log Cabin 10 min to Acadia National Park
Our modern log cabin has stunning views of Frenchmen's Bay in a very private, serene location. With 3 bedrooms (2 king bedrooms and one large loft (queen and twin size beds) /2 baths it is the perfect spot for a family or two to enjoy together. The main level has a bedroom and bathroom so those with mobility issues will be able to navigate the house after ascending 3 small steps up the front porch. Whether you enjoy sitting on the back deck, by the fire pit, or walking along the shoreline, there are many picturesque places to spread out and relax.
Located down a long, private, tree lined road that is directly on the ocean it is the perfect place to sit back and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature. In the morning it is nice to sip a cup of coffee on the deck and watch the local lobsterman harvest his catch out in the bay. You might see one of the eagles or osprey swoop down to catch a fish or ride the thermals over the house. Seal may be seen from time to time sunning on a rock just of the shore or chasing fish for a meal. Deer may be seen grazing around the woods and marmot are seen at times.
The shoreline is a great spot to explore the tide pools and hunt for sea glass at low tide. Feel free to launch kayaks and paddleboards from the beach. You can bring your own or they can be rented on the island. We own the only other house on the street (more than 400 ft uphill from the cabin) that shares the beach access.
Just 10 mins from Acadia, 15 min from downtown Bar Harbor, and 10 minutes to the quiet side of the island, it is a quick trip to most places on the island. There are many quaint lobster pounds and restaurants within a five to eight minute drive of the house including the top ranked lobster pound, The Travelin Lobster. Local favorites also include Sweet Peas and Mainely Meats. All have great outdoor dining.
Like lobster? We have all you need to cook up a great lobster dinner at the house.
The log cabin has been a loved vacation spot by families for 25 years. We bought the cabin in November 2021 and renovated both bathrooms as well as completely re-decorated the whole house. We also own Bar Harbor Cedar Chalet just up the hill from this house.
We rent Saturday to Saturday from June- October 12 except Saturday 6/27- Sunday July 5th (8 nights). Please reach out to me directly to book that week. Otherwise we have a 4 night minimum due to Bar Harbor’s town regulations for vacation rental houses.
We have a firm no pet policy so all guests will be comfortable in the house. No parties or smoking as well.
We have an outdoor camera by the front door that looks at the driveway.

Great cabin to sty in just outside of town. Quiet and peaceful and enough space for the whole family.Easy access to town and hosts are very responsive and helpful with recommendations.
An amazing property - comfortable and cozy, beautiful view and Jamie was the best host! She thought of everything to make her cabin feel like our second home, and communicating with her was so easy - thanks Jamie, for a great week!
This property was incredible! Clean, charming, excellent location. Jamie was incredibly helpful and easy to communicate with. We highly recommend this property.
Home was exactly as described. All the amenities of home except with gorgeous views and perfect location for exploring. Our granddaughter was thrilled with tots and books for her age. The hosts were very attentive and responsive. Everything was clean and comfortable.
Such a beautiful and peaceful home on the water. Stocked with everything you could need for a relaxing getaway! We traveled with our 1 year old and things like the bathtub, travel crib and small high chair really made life easier. Jamie was also so wonderful and responsive, and shared lots of great recommendations for places to eat and things to do!
Our family of 6 stayed in this lovely log cabin at the end of June 2024. We enjoyed the beautiful view of the water and access to the same. We were able to use the home as an easy base for all the Bar Harbor activities that we had planned. Definitely recommend!
The property is amazing. Very clean and great location. Loved looking out over the water in the morning. I would highly recommend this property to others and plan on staying again in the future.
Absolutely perfect for our family (of 7) vacation!
Immaculate, cozy decor, well stocked kitchen (great pans for cooking!) 10 minutes from Acadia and downtown Bar Hatbor and a gorgeous water view in a quiet location. Jaime was a great host and super accommodating and the cabin had everything we needed for a great family vacation.
As others have summarized and as the pictures show, the cabin is in a beautiful, idyllic setting. Jaime did everything to make our stay comfortable. Thanks for a pleasant week!
Stayed on the island for 4 nights and LOVED the location of this cabin. It was perfect for the 7 of us. Super private and quiet. Well stocked kitchen. Very easy to get to everything. Host was amazing. The kids loved exploring the tide pools at low tide. (Recommend bringing some boots) Beautiful views. Will rent again next time we are in the area.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. For us the property was idea. No neighbors in either side, a beautiful view and relaxing. It had plenty of space for our family of 4. The property owner was attentive and communicated great. We would stay here again and again!
This was the perfect place for my sisters and daughter to celebrate my 70th birthday. We loved the location and the beautiful sunset and scenery. House had everything we needed.
The property was exactly as listed online. We stayed in the log cabin and found it to bed very comfortable. The owner Jamie was friendly and welcoming. Everything was as shown on VRBO. We would love to return.
The cabin is wonderful, location is perfect to bar harbor and hiking trails. Kitchen was well equipped (pots/pans/dishes/cutlery). Jamie made sure we had everything we needed! We had a wonderful week and will definitely book this place again! Thanks again Jamie!
I recently stayed at this property and it exceeded all of my expectations! This home was spotless, well-equipped, and had all the comforts needed for a relaxing getaway. The location was perfect-close to Acadia and downtown Bar Harbor, yet tucked away enough to feel peaceful and private. We especially enjoyed the outdoor space, with incredible views and a comfortable seating area on the deck as well as around a fire pit. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a comfortable and memorable stay. We will be back!
Came with my spouse to celebrate 40th birthday, decided on Bar Harbor Maine. We loved the cabin it was very clean and well equipped. Cabin on the water, very private and only 15 minutes to downtown and 10 minutes to Acadia National Park . The cabin had a large assortment of board games and barbies my 9 year old enjoyed . The private beach was the highlight from me. I would definitely rent this cabin again.
Jamie was a very good communicator. She provided us with everything we needed to know about the cabin, their favorite local restaurants, coffee shops, and things to do around the area. The cabin was nice and clean and the bed was comfortable. The Internet worked very well. It was so peaceful there we didn’t want to leave. Seeing the deer walk through in the evening was something we enjoyed. We look forward to returning.
The waterfront location of the log cabin is unbelievable. Our group of 7 loved watching the tide roll in and out from the living room, kitchen and huge porch. The cabin is very comfortable and close to all of the activities and fantastic restaurants in Bar Harbor, Southwest Harbor and Bass Harbor as well as the amazing hiking in Acadia. Just perfect for our group with diverse interests. The drive down to the cabin is a steep hill which had me nervous at first but it was easily managed by our standard rental car even on a rainy day. Jamie is an amazing host! Thanks for a great stay!
Our multigenerational group had a terrific two-week stay in this clean, well kept and appointed, and rustic (yet modern) cabin with amazing oceanfront views. The check-in/out processes were seamless, and Jamie was incredibly communicative and responsive throughout the process. We appreciated the thoughtful welcome gift and helpful suggestions. The cabin is conveniently located and was only a 15-25 minute drive to most trailheads and activities. Additionally, it was very close to our favorite eateries, including Sweet Peas and the Travelin Lobster. Our group appreciated the plentiful indoor and outdoor common spaces, including a large deck and firepit area. We felt that we were truly immersed in nature, with only the sister cabin in view in the back at a distance. We look forward to returning next summer!
The house could not possibly be more perfect.First, the location: The property is situated only 10 to 15 minutes from downtown Bar Harbor, so fine dining and shopping are a quick car ride away. But the cabin itself is secluded and quiet, located in a breathtakingly beautiful setting with gorgeous sunsets. It’s great to be able to enjoy the amenities of the town, but still be able to escape the crowds to such a lovely setting. Outstanding hiking is also available minutes away in Acadia National Park. The cabin itself is comfortable and well appointed. The kitchen has everything that a chef could want for dinners at home. The living room is cosy and comes with a fireplace. Overlooking the water, the deck has Adirondack chairs, a dining table and a top of the line grill. Everything is meticulously clean, with plentiful linens and paper products provided. Finally, communication with the owner was outstanding. She was readily available during the stay and checked in several times to make sure everything was going smoothly. We had absolutely no issues during our visit. In summary, I cannot imagine a better place to stay in this area. We have already booked for next year.
We had a wonderful time here in this private forest-meets-the-sea retreat. The house and furnishings are comfortable (nice couch) and the view is spectacular of woods, water, sunrise/sunset. Lovely flowering plants. There is a large deck and outdoor oven/grill, The kitchen is well appointed and supplied with everything you will need to cook, if you so choose. There are also some first day supplies to get you started. There are well chosen books and games for all ages and the basic equipment even for little ones. The Owners Book is thorough and the recommendations for dining, etc. are expert; some are a mile or two away. The pictures on VRBO are accurate. The amount of tide change is probably a couple of feet. It’s very private in the woods, yet on the water. We saw a parent eagle and fledgling, loon, deer with rack. Very quiet. Ten minutes from entrance to park. We would love to return. Owner is very responsive.
