Nicely decorated home with private pool and short walk to beach.

Welcome to the Driftwood Cottage located on the Southend of Saint Simons Island. This three bedroom two bath cottage is just steps from one of the best beaches on Saint Simons. As you walk in the front door you will notice the open living/dining area. The living room has plenty of seating with a comfortable couch, love seat and two sitting chairs. There is a gas fireplace and a large flatscreen television. The dining area has a table with benches on each side and sitting chairs at both ends that will sit eight comfortably. The kitchen has all stainless appliances and is fully stocked with pots, pans, utensils and everything you should need during your stay. The master bedroom has a king bed, flatscreen tv and walk in shower. The stackable washer and dryer is located in the master bath also. The first guest has a full bed with flatscreen television and the second guest has four bunks also with a flatscreen television.

Outside is where you will find your very own fenced in private pool that can be heated for $75.00 per day or $500.00 for the week. There is plenty of seating around the pool area with six lounging chairs, one sitting chair, eating table for four and a propane grill. The beach is just a five minute walk down a gravel road and across the board walk. This home is within walking distance to some of the islands best restaurants and shops. The village area is where you will find shops, restaurants, fishing pier, putt putt, play ground and light house are just a five minute drive away. This home has everything a small family will need while on vacation and is sure to be a family favorite for years to come.



Check in is at 4:00 pm and check out is at 10:00 am NO exceptions. Please do not arrive at the property early. We have cleaning staff and other employees trying to prepare the property for your arrival. All guests that arrive prior to 4:00pm or check out later than 10:00 am will be charged one additional night.

Each of our properties comes with the following

Linens, towels, dishes, standard kitchenware, hairdryer, an iron, and wireless internet/cable television services. So you won’t have to start your vacation with a trip to the store, we supply you with the following essentials:

This is the second time my family has stayed at this property. We loved our stay. Grandkids and great grandsons loved the pool. Very clean, good size. Conveniently close to the beach, not a lot of traffic. Recommend the property highly.

Great spot for a family vacation

We loved staying at this property which is within easy walking distance to the beach. It was a fantastic bonus to have a private pool as well and we enjoyed this every day. The decor in this home is bright, beachy, and comfortable. We will definitely return to this property on our next visit!

Great place to stay

It’s a very nice place, within walking distance to beach. Just make sure to keep linens, towels, and furniture clean or they will charge you. We felt like you had to be on your “ps and qs” as far as ensuring nothing was stained or soiled due to spillage or make up. Overall, it was wonderful though. I just want to give a heads up to anyone with children.

amazing location! easy walk out to the beach. easy golf cart ride down to the pier or up to goulds inlet. the beach out front of this property is part of the best of the island. smelled very clean when we arrived. the house was as listed. the pool was great. could use some updated sheets and bath towels. only one closet in the house in the room with king bed. so everyone had to hang things in there. some additional towel hooks could be nice. bunk room with sliding barn door is right off the main living area so if you have light sleepers in there it makes it difficult to hang out in the main room. luckily we brought sound machines! had a question about the property on saturday evening of arrival and it was a super easy process to talk to someone and get a helpful answer! we would stay again! thanks for a great vacation on st simon’s island!!

Beautiful home, Great location

We loved staying at this home for Memorial Day weekend! It was perfect for our small family. The walk to the beach was quick and our girls loved swimming in the pool. I went for runs a few days and it was lovely to run along the marsh. My only cons were that they didn’t supply the home with trash bags and dishwasher detergent, and the pool vacuum wasn’t working. There was one kitchen trash bag in the can when we arrived and no more, and they only left two dishwasher pods and we were there for 4 nights. It’s a pet peeve of mine when rental homes don’t supply these necessary items. And there is a pool vacuum in the pool but as far as we could tell it wasn’t working. This wouldn’t have been a big deal but there are a few trees covering the pool that dropped leaves so the pool was kind of dirty while we were there. Those are really just me nitpicking, because we loved this home and would love to come back another time.

Beautiful, but….

The remodel is charming and the location is perfect, but the interior needs a serious deep clean. The shower grout is moldy, the fridge water spout and plate had mold/algae growing on it, the kitchen sink faucet also had mold, washing machine is moldy, and even the dishwasher had mold inside (likely from sitting since a repair man had to come out during our stay). Every single vent is coated in thick layers of dust. The floors are disgusting…we walked around for a few minutes and the bottoms of our feet were black. Upon arrival, there were dead cockroaches on the floor, old food stains crusted to the wall and floor in the kitchen/back door area, and miscellaneous dirt and debris in all areas. We called and requested to have the house cleaned again and they did send a single housekeeper out during our stay, but she was present for 30 minutes max and only mopped the floors - dust, mold, and old/crusted food remained. The woman I spoke to insisted the property had just been cleaned prior to arrival, but I would beg to differ. We paid additional for pool heating, but it was still very cold. The tracks for the barn doors need repair since they do not stay open or closed well. Thankfully the beds were comfortable since we primarily used it as just a place to sleep since everything else about the property was lackluster.

Hello Patrick, I am so sorry you experienced all of this during your stay. When you contacted our office all you mentioned was the floors so we sent someone right over to clean the floors for you. Yes, this home was just cleaned and inspected just one day prior to your arrival. Had you mentioned the rest of the issues we would have sent someone right over to check out the issues and also have them resolved for you. I could have also relocated you to several other properties had I known. Thank you for your feed back and we hope you enjoy your next trip to Saint Simons Island.

Property review

We loved the house and the overall experience. Our only complaint is that the pool was very dirty sand or just dirt at the bottom and lots of leaves. My husband cleaned out the pool so we could use it. the pool company didn’t showed up till Thursday afternoon we pointed out that the skimmers weren’t working and he said the person who had been doing the service must have avoided the equipment. He fixed everything and shocked the pool which meant we had to stay out of it for several hours. Also there are hundreds of little ants all over the back deck you might want to stray for that. Just a suggestion you might want to put in a frosted window in the bathroom with the king bed because a new 3 story house was just built next door and the 2nd floor deck area can see right into the shower.

What a wonderful little beach house! Our family of 5 had so much fun staying here. Proximity to the beach is even closer than it appeared on the map….it is SO close! (We ended up renting an umbrella & chairs from BBS, they set up on the beach and you can rent by the day….that was so nice.) Having our own pool was like a separate vacation within a vacation! The home is so well thought out (especially for a rental home!). I loved the exterior door from the pool to the bathroom/shower/laundry, was so nice to let the children swim and then send them in that door to shower & drop all their wet gear, genius! The kitchen was very well stocked, it had everything we needed! (Definitely more plentiful than other places we’ve rented in the past…it felt much more like a home someone lived in rather than a rental with the bare minimum set of kitchen things….can’t think of anything we couldn’t find, which was a pleasant surprise.) We have three children ages 9-12, and we had plenty of space to spread out comfortably. The large picnic style table was awesome, nobody was quarreling about where to sit! Our boys loved the bunk room, those top bunks are like a little fort! We rented a golf cart and didn’t need to touch our car once while we were there, that was another big highlight for everyone. We were easily able to take the golf cart everywhere because the home is so centrally located to everything. Not to mention…the ride to everywhere is just beautiful, especially in a golf cart with the open ocean air all around you. Check in was easy, and our host was so incredibly helpful and responsive. The first night the A/C was having a hard time cooling…we called in the morning and there was someone there to repair it by that afternoon (on a Sunday…before the 4th of July), it was fixed and cooling perfectly in record time, we were so appreciative! Cannot say enough about this cute little beach cottage, perfect little getaway! The only problem is that our stay wasn’t long enough! We miss it already! Thank you for a wonderful week!

St Simon vacation 2022

The location is better than expected. It truly is as good of beach access as you can have on St Simon. It was perfect for our family of 5, with a little extra room left over. The pool was perfect when the jelly fish invaded the beach. It is south GA in the summer so it was hot, humid, and the bugs were plentiful, but this house was perfect to escape to.

Great house close to the beach

This three bedroom was perfect for our party of five. It’s a very short walk to the beach. The property management was very responsive when the grill wasn’t working and delivered a new grill same day! The house had everything we needed and made it so easy to have meals. The location is great and close to many restaurants and shopping. Everyone was so friendly on the island!

Great long weekend!

Our stay was relaxing and easy. Everything was as described and the communication was very warm and very welcoming. Plenty of space for a family of four, plus grandma. The house is nice a bright and has very comfy beds. The convenience and walk to the beach and the ocean boulevard could not be easier. And the provided bug spray was much appreciated for days with a lighter breeze. The pool was fun and received a lot of nice light at all hours making it easy to enjoy anytime. A highlight was the kitchen with all the necessary items for a home cook. The dishwasher was on the fritz but there were plenty of towels to hand dry and the rental co was great about it. The property has been enjoyed by many, and it is starting to show a little. Might be time for a refresh of: one or two outdoor dining chairs, the couch throw pillows, and a couple of beach towels, but other than that is was perfect!
