We really enjoyed our stay, and our whole family fit comfortably. We especially enjoyed making use of the fire pit, the hot tub, and the pizza oven! Communication was great and everything went smoothly. A great place to stay!

This was the perfect getaway for a Bachelorette weekend. All of the amenities to stay on site. We especially loved the massage chair, indoor suana, and the pizza oven! The local grocery store was only 5 minutes away for anything we forgot (flour). We even got a peek at Juneberry, the albino deer during our Neature walk in Father Hennepin State Park, within 10 minute drive of the house. Highly recommend the stay. Thank you for having us!

The Barn was such a great getaway for our family of 4 adults! The beds were comfortable and everything was just as we expected. Communication with our host was wonderful; beforehand and even during our stay when we had a question about the woodfire pizza oven. Speaking of which, cooking on the woodfire pizza oven was fun, unique and delicious! We really enjoyed the open kitchen/comfy living room where we were able to all be together to cook, relax, play games & watch movies. The hot tub was also great and was always ready to enjoy - no need to figure it out, it was just ready to hop into! The pontoon rental contact our hosts had established was also appreciated. Receiving the pontoon right off of the dock was smooth and easy, making getting onto the water a wonderful and delightful experience! We would definitely return and recommend for a great getaway!

Great place to stay and play!

The Barn is a great place for families or anyone looking for a modern, clean house to stay while you’re enjoying all the local Mille Lacs outdoor opportunities. Had a wonderful cozy and relaxing time at The Red Barn. The upstairs was perfect for our two daughters to have to themselves. We enjoyed renting a pontoon while we were there and I highly recommend that from the owner as well!! It’s exactly as described and they were super easy to work with. It was a unique place and that added a lot of charm to the stay overall. I’d stay in a fun and different place like this a thousand times before a hotel or condo that’s always the same cookie cutter experience.

Lake getaway

We were looking to have a quiet weekend trip with family and this was a good choice. The “Barn” was well appointed and clean. There were plenty of things to do on the property- outdoor and indoor games provided. The lake was a short walk across the street and down a path. Great place for watching the sunset. I had a couple of questions and Brian responded quickly. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend staying there.

The Barn for a Golden Birthday.

I booked the Barn to surprise my GirlFriend for her Golden Birthday. Along with our guests. This place is amazing! Inside Is gorgeous and very well designed with lots of room open space very comfy very cozy, And extremely clean! Which is something we always try to find in our rentals. We spent the weekend with local friends SXS and visiting other local friends. We didn’t use the pontoons at the property as we had a tight schedule, but knowing they were an option was great! The lot has plenty of parking for guests or trailers. We for sure give the place and Brian 5 stars overall. We may be back this winter if the snow is good as all the trails are close and hopefully some ice fishing.

Host was very helpful and responsive and property location was great. However when we tried to use the stove night 1, it did not work and the host was not able to have it repaired on a holiday weekend. Seems like some of the details fell through the cracks when this home was constructed and/or renovated. However, overall enjoyed our stay.

The stove was a brand-new appliance, so the issue was unexpected. Unfortunately, with it being a holiday weekend, the necessary parts and an appliance repair technician were not immediately available. We made every effort to find an immediate solution, but some circumstances were simply outside our control. Rest assured, the stove was repaired promptly on Monday as soon as service and parts were available. We appreciate your understanding and are happy to hear that, despite this inconvenience, you overall enjoyed your stay at the lake.

Place in a a nice location and walk to lake isn’t bad if you can read the bad google map by the door. Hot tub took full reset and a day to get back up to temp. Felt weird to have sauna in the master bedroom. Expect to live out your suitcase there is do dresser or closet. Shower water pressure is low, wish could have showered in n the kitchen sink as that’s adequate. It’s fine overall and close enough to town for a mostly quiet base for vacation. Property up the road had loud parties all weekend into the late night. With tv on low you can’t hear the bass and whoops so don’t always expect quiet oasis.
