Luxury villa with heated pool

The south-facing, lovingly built and furnished villa is located near Porches in a very popular urbanização, quietly at the end of a cul-de-sac. Shops, restaurants, cafes, bars, and all other facilities for daily needs are only a few minutes away and sometimes within walking distance.

This villa is very special. The property was heaped up before construction, so that it has an elevated position and offers a beautiful view of the other, well-kept villas and the surrounding area. In addition, the villa was built from Ytong stones, which guarantee a pleasant, naturally cool temperature in summer and do not let the house cool down in the winter months.

On the ground floor there is the very large living and dining room with a separate kitchen, 2 bedrooms, a guest toilet and a utility room, as well as an equipment and tool room with access from the garden. The kitchen directly adjacent to the dining area was specially made by the carpenter and is equipped with high-quality appliances and has a separate storage room. The two bedrooms are spacious, have large fitted wardrobes and each has its own bathroom with underfloor heating.
Large glass doors lead from the living room to the partially covered terrace, the heated pool and the very well-kept garden with exotic trees, many shrubs and palm trees. A tall hedge surrounds the fully fenced property and offers complete privacy. The large BBQ area, with a brick table with marble top and benches, can accommodate up to 10 people.

The upper floor can be used as an independent apartment. It has access from the entrance area on the ground floor, as well as via the fairytale "Cinderella stairs" on the right of the house. There are 2 bedrooms, a spacious bathroom with underfloor heating and another room that is currently the 3rd Bedroom is used. However, it is an open bedroom as it also serves as a passage for the other two bedrooms on this floor. Since it has a fireplace, this room can also be used as a living room. The large, sheltered terrace offers a wonderful view.

We had a wonderful stay at this superb villa. Everything from enquiring to the stay itself went like clockwork.Sonja was very prompt with replying to any questions and very helpful with making sure everything was ready on our arrival. We had a late flight and this was no problem.Estrela was our point of call whilst we were staying at the villa and she was so helpful with any questions.The villa itself was beautiful and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. we like to relax by the pool during the day and then go and explore different parts of the Algarve and enjoy a meal in the evening. The location was ideal for this, being central. There was shopping and a few restaurants nearby. I would recommend this villa to anyone and will definitely be looking at going back in the future.

A wonderfully relaxing holiday

The house was spacious, clean and ideal for a quiet, relaxing family holiday. The location is in a quiet neighborhood but with good access from the main road, which was on occasion audible. The area is quieter than the other touristy areas but with lots of places to eat within driving distance. I would recommend a having a car to get around if staying in this property.

Perfect house in Algarve

We are a family of 5 and a senior. We rented the house and used it both as a relaxation “paradise” and the base for our discover of the Southern part of Portugal. The property is an oasis of peace and quietness but very close to beaches and downtown restaurants. The pool and the bbq area complete a top class property.

Absolutely stunning villa in fab area!!

One word- wow!! The home is beautiful and clean. Stylishly decorated and has everything you could need. The pool is amazing; along with everything else. Fab area, lots of restaurants, supermarkets, shops… Sonja was absolutely lovely, being very helpful along the way and is great at keeping in touch and making sure everything is running smoothly. Would totally recommend this property and would love to come back!:)

Great house in a great location

The house and garden is lovely, the heated pool and the BBQ is a plus! Communication with Sonja was perfect. What could be improved: explaining better how to get to the house as google maps get you lost in the area at the opposite of the house. Also, it would be nice to have soap available in the main areas and more bean bags/ washing tablets.

Relaxing and beautiful location

The villa was a wonderful place to relax. We swam in the pool, and had lunches outside on the patio. Sonja quickly addressed some minor issues and we were set for the rest of our stay. The location is good if you want to explore the beautiful beaches in that area. We visited several and they are all a 15 to 20 minute drive away. It was very convenient as we had to go back to the house and out again frequently. There are nearby grocery stores if you want to cook and several coffee places and restaurants within 5 minutes. I wish we had more days to explore more! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Spacious villa in perfect location

Perfect villa for our holiday. Plenty of space for the family to relax. Pool, terrace and gardens were lovely. The villa is a short drive to the beaches and the local supermarket is a few minutes by car. The only downside was lack of oven but even that had an upside as it meant my teenage son left his room and improved bbq skills. We were there when the temperature was in the late 30’s and the villa had a lovely breeze coming through it. Sonja was attentive before and throughout our holiday which is reassuring. All in all a fantastic holiday in a stunning villa. Thank you

Place is nice but needs some work

We had some issues with the property upon our arrival. We had no running hot water for 24 hours. That was an issue for us as we had to take cold showers. The property needs a little bit of work. A bees nest outside one of the rooms. The place wasn't clean dead bugs on beds. Ants in the washroom where i had my toothbrush and toothpaste.

Very nice house with a beautiful garden

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It's a beautiful and well-maintained house in a convenient location (bakery, supermarkets, and beautiful beaches are all reachable by car within a few minutes - walking to a nearby cove took us about 30 minutes). The pool is nice (with enough sunbeds) and, just like the house, well-maintained. We really enjoyed the garden with its beautiful and varied vegetation, including dozens of different flowers. Kids find plenty of space for playing, and the wonderful patios provided shade during the entire day. All the windows and patio doors had both shutters and insect screens. Overall, we found the description to be very accurate. The few things we would call out (and that are easily fixable) are the cleanliness and overall state/quality of the cutlery, and the lack of blankets for sitting outside on chilly evenings. We bought a chimney starter and left it at the house, so that should hopefully solve the problem of getting the grill started for future guests :).

Lovely home in Porches

Sonja and Estrela were terrific hosts. The home is large and immaculate and the pool was AMAZING. It worked very well for our family, and we had a great time there. We felt safe, secure, and well cared for. We would certainly recommend it to others. A few minor items to note for those who may not be familiar with the area: 1. Like most homes in the Algarve, it does not have air conditioning. It often cools down at night, but even with a fan (which the home provides), it can be warm on hot days. 2. There is no indoor oven. We did not cook in the house, but that may be a surprise for some visitors. 3. The washing machine and bathrooms all worked absolutely perfectly, but we used our own soap in both. If laundry or hand soaps were available, we didn't find them. 4. Porches has some beautiful vineyards nearby, and the nearest beach is only 10 minutes by car, but the more extravagant beaches are 20 minutes (or more) away. Its location also contributes to the temperature, as it is not beach front. However, Sonja's pool front is gorgeous, and we were very pleased to spend time there.

Lovely home, but not as advertised

The photos of the house accurately reflect the property. Both the inside and outside are lovely. Unfortunately, the overall listing is significantly inaccurate which led to difficult discussions with the property owner. First and foremost, in conflict with the listing, the house *does not* have air conditioning of any kind - not central air, not window units, nothing. The owner tried to explain to me that the materials used to build the house act like a/c - that was not sufficient and we were uncomfortably hot most nights and did not sleep well. Second, the listing indicates internet access, which in this case was a cellular wireless access point that delivered less than 40 kbps (which is what you might have expected in 1999). The owner told me that we shouldn't expect good internet in Portugal. We went and bought sim cards for our phones and had 800 kbps connections. There is simply no need to provide such a poor connection. Third, the listing indicates the beach is 900m away. This is simply not true - per Google map, the property is 2.9km from the beach. It is misleading to suggest otherwise. I addressed my concerns with the owner via a call the first day and she indicated a willingness to "do whatever is necessary including giving us a credit" to make things right. The property manager did provide 2 fans and warm up the pool as requested - these small gestures were appreciated. Regrettably, now that our stay is concluded she is not offering anything and sent me a terse note instead. Based on the correspondence I've had with the property owner, I anticipate she'll see to discredit my comments. What I can say is I've rented more than 20 properties via VRBO and Homeaway over more than a decade and have never had such an experience and have never written a negative review. If the owner updates the listing to be factually correct - removing reference to a/c, the distance to the beach and finding a suitable internet service, future renters can have a positive experience.

There are people, who from the very first moment only look for the hair in the soup and the goul is then to get a price reduction! Immediately after arriving the guest was already dissatisfied and I phoned him 10 minutes! He wanted, that the telephone company has to install a fast lane for him on the next day! I have internet and it works! He wanted fans and a cooler- big box! My manager bought two fans on the same evening and the box - the guests are king!! He ordered separate pool heating , which is not free ! Look at the terms and conditions. There are different beaches , so if you say 900m as the crow flies our 2,4 km with the car - I only can smile about this statement! At the end I can do without such guests!

Mooie villa en top locatie

Erg mooi en verrassend grote villa. Alles was erg netjes en schoon. Het zwembad vonden de kinderen helemaal super. Ze doken smorgens meteen het zwembad in (we hadden het zwembad laten verwarmen tot 30 graden, erg lekker). Smiddags heerlijk bbqen aan het zwembad en de supermarkt is op paar minuten afstand dus alles is zo gehaald. De locatie is ook erg goed. Met 8min ben je bijvoorbeeld bij Marinha Beach, met 16min ben je in Carvoeira en met 25min ben je in Albufeira. Wij hebben genoten! Mooie villa, top locatie!

A fantastic time

We were at Porches at the end of april and the beginning of may. We had a great time! The house is very nice and clean, with plenty space for everyone. We were with 4 adults and 2 kids. The swimming pool was used a lot, and was heated to a temperature of 28 degrees celsius, lovely! If you drive 5 to 10 minutes you are at the supermarket and the beach, so the location is fine. The owner is very kind and if we had a question about the house, she responded within a few minutes. We would go back here some day!

Wir haben es genossen!

Die Villa hat alles, was man für einen perfekten Urlaub benötigt. Die Ausstattung ist sehr großzügig und auch architektonisch interessant. Da wir die ersten Gäste in diesem Jahr waren gab es verschiedene kleinere Probleme, welche aber alle schnell und unproblematisch behoben wurden. Der Kontakt zur Besitzerin und zu den Betreuern vor Ort war freundlich und unkompliziert. Ein Highlight war der beheizte Pool, den wir gründlich genossen haben. Wir können die Villa mit gutem Gewissen weiterempfehlen.
