About this property
Cozy Mountain Chalet Amid Brilliant Fall Colors
Welcome to The Burrow! This 4 bedroom, 3 bath chalet is located on almost 2 acres right off the main road within minutes of the Hidden Valley Resort entrance. A picturesque chalet, hidden amongst the trees and ready for you to leave your worries at the door and relax. With plenty of space for 8 people to find 'their spot', whether next to the fireplace looking out the sliding glass doors at mountains, by the smart tv with your favorite show, or cooking your go-to meal in the spacious, fully stocked kitchen! It doesn't get much more 'mountain ski chalet' than this! Tucked just off the main road, the goal of this 2700 sq ft chalet is to balance the spaciousness with the cozy feel you want in a chalet. Our living room is the perfect spot for a book or card game by the fire. Off the living room there is an office/bedroom with a memory foam futon and its own bathroom leading out to the airy sunroom with a swing and plenty of windows. While we have some great food recommendations in the area, one of our favorites is a home cooked meal and this kitchen is stocked with all the cookware to handle it! What's a home cooked meal if you don't have a dining room table to fit everybody?! Don't worry, we have that covered too. In the huge sunken dining/ tv room there's a dining table with room for everyone and their elbows while the other half of the room features a spacious couch and chaise along with a 65" Roku Smart TV equipped with HBO Max. The master suite is hard to simply show in pictures! It has a king size memory foam bed, a 43" Roku smart tv, a reading area then its private bathroom features three skylights, a rainfall shower and a soaking tub. There are two more bedrooms on the second level sharing a bathroom that each have their own memory foam queen mattress. One of the two bedrooms has side room that's set up to be the perfect 'Work Away From Home' office (with our 162 Mbps wifi) but can also work great as a sleeping space for little ones. The driveway is fairly steep. It is plowed but take caution going up and down the driveway and street. Four-wheel drive is recommended in the winter months. Note for new guests: We’re happy to welcome first-time VRBO travelers! If you’re new to the platform or haven’t stayed with VRBO before, please send a short message before booking so we can make sure our home is the right fit for your stay.

Great house and location. House is very comfortable and the wood burning stove works well. We were there when it had snowed and they do have someone come plow the driveway which is helpful.
Great place for a ski weekend! Only 5 min ride to the slopes. Nicely updated, clean, had what we needed as family of 6. Responsive host, but no issues with the house so all set. Nice fireplace but recommend a starter log from Coen market down the road.
Was an excellent stay. Robbie, our host, was very friendly and helpful. The chateau was well appointed and made for a cozy and quiet get away. Do not suggest nearby Rustic Mountain Pizza as an eating experience, even if it is close by.
The place was very spacious and bright. They had everything we needed right there. The state parks in the area have so much to see and experience. I highly recommend this place for the beautiful home and great location!
Very nice rental with an open living area for gatherings. Very close to Hidden Valley - longer drive to Seven Springs. Has all the amenities you would need for a relaxing weekend…
We were happy with our stay at the chalet. Robbie was quick to answer any questions we had. Place was kept clean and kitchen had everything you need if you were planning on cooking. Overall, I would stay here again if we go to seven springs.
Very spacious and clean cabin with good amenities. Extremely responsive host. The lights in the dining room were dim, but the host said that would be fixed soon and didn’t mind us moving in a lamp from the bedroom.
Perfect location. We took the family to Out of the Fire for dinner Saturday in Donegal then came back to the house and had a camp fire in the fire pit in the back. My wife and I attended a show in Johnstown Sunday while the kids went to Seven Springs for the day. We all meet back at the house and had a great cook out. The kitchen had all the items needed to cook a great meal. Love the coffee bar.
The Burrow was perfect! Close to everything that we needed , yet tucked away in the beautiful hills. The home was warm and inviting and plenty of space for our family to spread out. Robbie was easy to communicate with and responded quickly to any questions. We will definitely seek to rebook in the future when we are in the area.
My husband rented this property for me as a birthday gift for a girls weekend. The house sits back away from the main road and is beautifully decorated and renovated. It was spotless and had everything we needed including paper products and toiletries. There is plenty of space to relax inside and outside. The owners were super responsive as well. I can’t recommend this place enough!
We had a great weekend stay at The Burrow. The chalet was spotless and offered what we needed.
The well-equipped kitchen made it convenient to whip up some home-cooked meals, and the location was convenient.
Close to scenic hiking trails and state parks, this vrbo served as an ideal base for exploring the area's natural beauty.
The seamless check-in process and prompt communication from the host made the entire experience even more enjoyable. I would highly recommend this Vrbo to anyone seeking a peaceful and rejuvenating getaway.
Had an absolutely fantastic time in this home. It was super comfortable and had plenty of space for everyone in our party. The rooms were warm and had nice views of the woods that surround the house. Multiple points of entry to the house so if you’re covered in snow you won’t wet the floor or carpet. Robbie was awesome and extremely attentive to any issue that came up, including the plowing of the driveway in case of heavy snow. 100% recommend this home to anyone looking for a cozy spot in Somerset
We loved The Burrow! Everything was as described and the cozy/modern vibe we look for in a stay. The check in process was super simple and the host was responsive to any and all questions. The driveway was clear of ice. We loved having access to the garage to unload and store all of our ski equipment. We had an outside fire both nights of our stay and appreciated that there was a stock of firewood right at the house! The kitchen was perfectly equipped and had everything we needed to cook all of our meals at the house. We also loved the little extras- a variety of games and the local wine. We hit both resorts and the non-skiers took advantage of state parks near by for some winter hiking. We had 3 generations at the house and everyone had a great time. Would definitely recommend.
Wonderful place to rent. It was very well kept and a great location in the Laurel Highlands.
My family and I had a wonderful time at the property. It was very clean and was in a great location in the Laurel Highlands. The owner had great communication and the check in and check out was very well explained. We definitely will come back again in the future

About the host
Hosted by Robbie
Hi I'm Robbie. I'm from Pittsburgh and still reside here but love traveling- especially to national parks! So far Zion and Glacier are my favorites.
Why they chose this property
My wife and I were always inspired by short-term rentals in cool places so once while camping in Laurel Hill State Park I started searching around to see what was available and came across The Burrow! It didn't look quite like it does now but had to do whatever we could to get into such a unique spot hidden in the trees on over an acre and here it is. Cozy up by the fire or enjoy a cup of coffee while watching the sunrise out the sliding glass doors, it is tough to beat! After a long day on the slopes, nothing beats the master bathroom's soaking tub and rainfall shower.
What makes this property unique
Located right off Rt 31 three miles from Hidden Valley Resort it is in a central location from Donegal and Somerset Turnpike exits. This chalet is versitle enough to be a great summer getaway surrounded by mature trees and nature while also being a dreamy winter getaway to stay while hitting the nearby slopes!
