Located less than 1 mile bike to Madison Ave beach, great restaurants, and just 5 short blocks to the Washington Street Mall. Enjoy two separate exterior entrance/exits from the cottage for maximum privacy. Large sliding doors to the patio (a shared space among 3 units) beckon the natural sunlight resulting in a cheerful space much larger than a hotel room with more privacy than an efficiency or bed and breakfast. Located just 3 blocks from the Washington Inn and other signature Cape May eats! Washington Street Mall is located just 5 short blocks away where you can shop, dine, or enjoy a cocktail in the Brown Room at Congress Hall. Looking for adventure, grab a house bike and a beach towel and head to Madison Ave Beach, less than one mile away! Sit and relax the day away or head to Grant Street beach or the Cove to catch some waves! Had enough of the beach? Grab your tennis racket and check out the Physick Estate, or call the Cape May Free ride to visit one of Cape May’s amazing winery’s. If you like to fish, you’re in the right spot with local charters or take a booze cruise on the Tiny Tiki out of South Jersey Marina! We absolutely loved the cozy cottage It was perfect for my husband and I.We were told to put the garbage out Monday and Tuesday for recycling. However it was actually Tuesday and Wednesday. It has rained Sunday so us 70-year olds had to dump the heavy water out of the containers to be able to move them the whole way around to the front.Also, instructions for using the TV would have been nice. We missed a few late sports gàmes because we couldn't get anything without a password.Overall, it was wonderful. Nice place.

Great Little Place

I was in Cape May for four days to go birding and this place was perfect. Great location on Washington Street less than a mile from the mall where all the shops and restaurants are located. Small, but fine for one person (or two). And very nice outdoor space as well.

Lovely Apartment in Quiet Neighborhood

I've been staying in Cape May twice a year for 10 years now, and this is one of the nicest places we've stayed. It's newly renovated and sparkling clean. Parking is easy and the surrounding neighborhood is very quiet. It's about a 15 minute walk to Washington Mall - or a 4 minute drive. I personally love that it's close to the Cape May Wawa. A wonderful place to celebrate my 50th.

Nice 3 night stay

This was a good pick for my husband and myself. Location is just a few streets away from all of the activity in Cape May. I was able to head back mid-day and catch a quick nap before nighttime dinner, drinks, and live music. Clean space. My husband LOVED all of the channels he could stream. Sports and news! Had all kitchen necessities, but only two washcloths for three nights for two of us. The bed was difficult to get in and out if you are the one who sleeps trapped by the wall. Comfortable bed and pillows and comforter though! It was a pretty dark atmosphere, but we were mostly there just to sleep. Easy entrance into home, but parking was on street only and crowded.

The property is lovely and sweetly decorated. The floors in the entire apartment are severely warped thoughout. Actually difficult to keep balance in some places. The first evening, had to have repairs to get TV on. Today, upon our rising at 6 , there was no water. no toilet, no shower, etc. We phoned the host and never got a call back. We checked with the renters above us & they had the same. In fact, they headed to WAWA to take care of bathroom Needs. We left shortly after Host needs to make sure the property is ready for rental.

COZY & QUIET !!! Good for 2 people. Very comfortable and quaint. The bathroom is a little tight but the shower was great. The bikes could stand some maintenance and my granddaughter (11) was unable to find one that would work for her. I liked the outdoor patio area and overall I enjoyed my stay. Close to everything but yet isolated .

On the second morning of our one-week stay, a roofing crew showed up. When we came back from going out for breakfast, there was a 1-foot-square hole in the ceiling through which we could see the sky, and debris all over the kitchen. The host paid to put us up in a good hotel nearby for two nights while repair work was done, but after some fairly adversarial negotiations only gave us an additional 5%-6% discount on our stay. The hotel was expensive for the host, as you would expect for anything nice booked at the last minute in this area, but we felt that somebody truly focused on the customer experience would have done more for us in such a crazy situation. Once we were back in the apartment, one of the smoke alarms went off loudly in the middle of night (there was no smoke), and I had to disconnect it. BTW, it is not a cottage, but a small apartment in the back of a house. We generally liked it apart from the temporary hole in the roof, but the kitchen was missing a few key items such as basic coffee supplies. The unit supposedly sleeps 4, but I would suggest only suggest it for a couple. Some people might have trouble getting into the right side of the main bed, since it's against a wall.There was also contradictory information about the day of garbage pickup (the house manual said one day, but a sign in the kitchen said a different day).

It is a cute cottage/quarters in an old victorian home. Floors are uneven in some rooms and very squeaky. Especially from above. Outdoor area needs cleaning and organizing to be useful. Bathroom is updated but a little tight. Bed was comfortable but tight in room, up against one of the walls.

THE BEST economical place to stay in Cape May

My husband & I stayed here to join other family members that were vacationing in Cape May also. This is a cozy, very clean, comfortable place to stay. We borrowed bikes the owner had available to ride around and visit the family. We also got a lot of walking exercise in going to the Washington St mall which was right down the street and going to the beach early in the morning to see the sun rise. Just Beautiful! We found the air conditioning unit to be just fine as long as we kept it on most of the time on high cool. We did not need to use a fan we brought just in case since there was a ceiling fan in the bedroom which was wonderful to move cool air. Loved having the washer/dryer to do laundry. Honestly we couldn’t have asked for anything more for this price. Thank you for such a lovely little place to stay.

This was my 2nd time at Gina’s and it was just as amazing as my first stay! My husband and I went for our babymoon and now just returned with our 3 week old. Our bassinet fit perfectly in the nook next to the bed and Gina is so responsive with any questions I had. Definitely will return again soon 😊

I’m Gina and my husband is Andy, we both grew up coming to the Jersey Shore and visiting Cape May. We met in college and fell in love on an off shore fishing trip! Fishing was always Andy’s passion and I never left the beach, but one day despite a treacherous journey miles off shore the ocean quieted and I fell in love, with him, and a view of the ocean I had never experienced. We own a boat and dock it at the gorgeous Cape May Marina and in January of 2022, after years of searching, we finally bought our little sliver of the island on Washington Street. If you can’t find us surfing at the COVE, or eating at The C-VIEW, we’ve gone fishing!

Why they chose this property

Cape May is the oldest shore town in the US. A fishing town that managed to marry its fresh catch with some outstanding chefs, including the only Michelin Star Chef in New Jersey. Gorgeous beaches line the coast and history abounds! Washington Street in particular is quintessential Cape May! The street is lined with colorful Victorian homes including this property which is a contributing historic structure built in the 1800’s. Washington Street is a great street to people watch, where you feel like you are part of the action without having to leave the property!
