Host profile image
Heather Secrist, owner and farmer at Suncrest Gardens Farm, designed the small 16 acre farm out of her love of food, her desire to care for the land and feed her family well, and her hope to create a place that brings community together around the table. The farm started in 2004 and has evolved continually. What began as a little farmer's market stand in her hometown of Alma, grew to a year round CSA for as many as 60 families, and now has shifted its focus to the kitchen where we create ready-to-eat foods out of all the items we raise at the farm. Our on-farm restaurant cooks thousands of our infamous wood-fired pizzas, appetizers, and desserts every summer to guests who visit Suncrest Gardens Pizza Farm in beautiful Yaeger Valley.

Why they chose this property

Our farmhouse was built in 2003 and showcases a clean modern farmhouse design with wood floors throughout the upper level. An abundance of natural light enlivens the space and offers beautiful views of the bluffs and gardens that surround Yaeger Valley. If you're looking to enjoy the beauty of the driftless area near the Mississippi River, and feel rooted to a farm space that honors nature, this is your space.

The space is professionally cleaned between every stay and we aim to maintain the home to a high standard.

What makes this property unique

From May-September, the pizza farm is open to the community on Fridays 4-9:30 pm and Saturdays 3-9:30 pm. Live music may be scheduled during those dates in our yard. The yard surrounding the house essentially becomes a communal space for the pizza nights. A private covered deck off the upper level of the farmhouse offers a birds eye view for people watching, enjoying music, and eating hot wood-fired pizzas.

Pizza nights are a family friendly event and are quiet by 10 pm. The campfire space would be a communal spot during the pizza nights. It's possible that other private farm events could be scheduled during your stay, but these would be contained to the barn and shared yard. The farmers can be seen on the farm taking care of animal chores and gardens.

If you are seeking quiet isolation, November-April the farm is closed to public pizza nights; hence the wood-fired pizza is also not available for purchase from the farm during that time. We do offer an online farm store to purchase foods grown from the farm: eggs, bacon, sausage, frozen soups, frozen pizza kits to DIY your own pizzas, etc.
