About this property
Spicewood, Luxury 2BD 2BA Yurt w/Hot Tub in Scenic Deep Creek area of WNC
Designed specifically for couples, escape to the new luxury community of Elk Hollow, nestled in the mountains just minutes from Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Our ideal location is between two quiet subdivisions and a horse pasture. Here, instead of the hustle and bustle of crowds, you’ll be treated to the songs of birds, the soothing sounds of the nearby creek, and the chorus of frogs. Keep your eyes peeled for wild turkeys, deer, and even the occasional bear or elk, who occasionally wander outside the park’s borders.
LIVING SPACES
With a uniquely intimate setting, you and your sweetheart (and perhaps another couple) will enjoy a rare treat at our luxury yurt.
The circular shape of the room adds to its charming appeal. Curl up on the plush sofa with a cup of coffee, a snack, and the company of your loved one to chat about your adventures, or to stream the latest episode of your favorite show from the wall-mounted TV w/DirecTV and the included Wi-Fi
KITCHEN AND DINING
A fully equipped kitchen beckons the chef! This beautifully modern space offers stylish teal cabinets, stainless steel appliances, and granite countertops. The pantry is chock-full of basic convenience items. There’s sure to be delicious aromas wafting throughout the home in no time!
A table for four sits in front of the window, so you can enjoy your delicious meal, the gorgeous scenery, and each other’s company.
BEDROOMS AND BATHS
Each of the two en-suite bedrooms offers a king-size bed and spacious tiled walk-in showers.
For our guests’ convenience, we also provide a full-size washer and dryer.
OUTDOOR AMENITIES
A spacious porch sets the tone for your stay here. Fully equipped with cooking, dining, and lounging areas, this may just become your very favorite feature of the yurt.
Enjoy a steaming cup of morning coffee, a cold afternoon glass of tea, or an evening cocktail from the comfort of one of the four cushioned chairs. Take in the serenity of the scenery, read a few pages in your book, or keep a watch out for furred or feathered neighbors.
Grill up lunch or dinner on the large gas grill and savor your feast at the picnic table. Talk about a table with a view!
The best dessert in the world are the marshmallows or s’mores you’ll roast while sitting around the firepit, maybe even trading a ghost story or two.
In the evenings, watch the stars twinkling in the sky from the warm bubbles of the hot tub. Let them work their magic on muscles tired from hiking while you sip on a glass of your favorite beverage and listen to the night sounds of these pristine surroundings.
Please note: No smoking or vaping. No pets. No parties or events. One step up to enter the yurt.
What's Nearby?
Our property is just a few miles from scenic Bryson City, NC. We are located on the southern side of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, which is a sports and outdoor enthusiasts’ dream come true. Some of the best trout fishing on the eastern seaboard is located here. You’ll also find tubing available at the entrance to Deep Creek, and whitewater rafting can be had at several locations including the Nantahala Outdoor Center (NOC) about 30 minutes away.
Downtown Bryson City has many restaurants that offer a variety of choices, from burgers and beer, to Italian, Mexican, microbreweries, and more!
The Great Smoky Mountains Railroad is one of only a few narrow-gauge steam railroads that have passenger service. In the winter months, the Polar Express is very popular with both kids and kids at heart.
Another attraction in Bryson City is the Road to Nowhere. This six-mile drive into the park ends with a 1000-foot tunnel through a mountain and then goes nowhere and make for a really fun afternoon excursion.
Nearly every motorcyclist and sports car enthusiast across the country knows about the Tail of the Dragon, which boasts an eye-popping 318 curves in 11 miles. This “drive it if you dare” road is about an hour away.
Beautiful Fontana Lake and the Nantahala Outdoor Center are in the vicinity and both worth an afternoon or full day if you have the time and inclination.
A moving outdoor drama of the Cherokee people, “Unto These Hills” is performed during the summer months. Cherokee, NC is about 25 minutes away and has a full casino.
You can also cross over the mountains in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park on Hwy 441 through Newfound Gap that has beautiful, picturesque views and then heads into Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, TN for a taste of the “big city”. This will lead you to Dollywood, which is a major theme park celebrating the Smoky Mountains.
If your chosen dates are not available in the Spicewood yurt. We have other Romantic Safari Tents and Hard Wall Yurts in Elk Hollow. Feel free to ask

Hello, my name is Jeanetta and I’m thrilled that you’re considering our property for your next Western North Carolina vacation!
After 34 years in the rental industry, my husband and I decided to consolidate everything into Elk Hollow near Bryson City, NC. I love that it’s location is so close to the entrance to Great Smoky Mountains National Park. It’s so quiet there, just a little piece of paradise waiting to be discovered. With tons of hardwood trees, a little stream, and wildlife like turkeys and deer, I could just soak it up forever.
There’s nothing more important to me than excellent customer service. I want all my guests to have a relaxing time and feel safe and comfortable. I really want them to find more to do than they have time for and have more fun than they expected!
As for me, I love all things outdoors. I love spending time with my family. I hope that my two children and 6 grandchildren will all enjoy the mountains as much as I and their grandfather do.
It’s probably not a surprise that I enjoy traveling and experiencing new places. But I also love being home with my friends and family, and entertaining. It’s important to have a balance.
I hope to see you soon at Elk Hollow!
