Cabin was perfect in every way: clean, comfortable, quiet. Kitchen is well stocked, bed was comfortable. We did use the gas fireplace and it warmed up the room very well. This is our 5th year staying at Leslie’s and the first time in this cabin. We will return again!

Such a great spot. The house was clean & beautiful & so unique

We were so pleasantly surprised with this last min booking. The house was a little gem with such unique decor. It was right on a gorgeous dead end road across from the river and just a few min down the road from Gore Mt. We hope to come back!

Cozy, Comfortable & Close

We loved this cabin! No TV which I guess I did not realize but it really just made this adorable place even more cozy. Very convenient to Gore Mountain which was our goal. Close to town. It was below zero when there or we may have walked to North Creek. We'd love to come back this spring or summer. Highly recommend.

Great winter getaway

Really cute cottage for 2 (3 would be pushing it unless your child) at a great location. Right on the river for immediate walking/running, & close to Gore for alpine & nordic & minutes from town for shopping/restaurants. We snowshoed 3 beautiful trails, all within an hours drive and didn't see a soul. Downsides were that you had to shower quickly or you ran out of hot water and the furniture is older than me & I'm 66

Cozy, private, well-maintained cabin 5 minutes from Gore Mountain. Beautiful views of the river right across the street. Very comfortable for 3 people with one Queen in the bedroom and one twin bed in an alcove. Cute little gas fireplace in living room. Full kitchen was nice with drip coffee maker, stove, toaster, microwave. No TV or dishwasher which didn’t matter to us on our short visit. Entrance to house was very icy and slippery. The host warned us of this and tried to remedy it the day after check-in. Overall a very nice stay and would like to return in warmer weather to enjoy the river and other local amenities.

Birthday Getaway

My partner and I had a wonderful visit to the cottage to celebrate his birthday weekend! The cottage was absolutely lovely with so many windows to enjoy the incredible snowy views. The bed was so comfy (that's a must when I'm traveling!), and the fireplace was such a nice, cozy addition. Leslie was very responsive with communication. All in all a wonderful property and host!

Ideal Getaway

We loved the cottage from the moment we pulled into the driveway. The location was ideal. The interior of the cottage was warmly decorated. It was clear that the owners have an eye for detail and a gift for creating such a cozy and welcoming place. There was plenty of room to cook and relax. We hope to visit again. Thank you.

Serene getaway

What an amazing cottage to stay for a few days! Located on a quiet road on the shore of Hudson river just across the river (3 min drive) from the community of North Creek. And what a little hidden gem this place is! With nice grocery store, its own glass blowing studio, cute antique shop, upscale clothes boutique, coffee shop and restaurant and bar... and the most AMAZING mosaic wall that is in Guinness book of records - The North Creek Mozaic Project that is worth coming to North Creek by itself! Also - location is just 30 min drive from Lake George (has beautiful lakefront park with a beach and it's own distillery), Tupper Lake and 13th Lake, and couple old garnet mines that are open to visitors, cross country ski and snowshoe camp, etc, etc. And the cottage itself is AMAZING! The owner - Leslie spent a lot of time, money and thought making it so comfortable for the guests! Beautifully organized and decorated kitchen - with gas stove/oven, microwave, coffee maker, tea kettle, beautiful crystal wine glassed, ceramic tableware in beautiful pastel colors; gas fireplace in cozy sitting area, very comfortable bed in bedroom with plenty of space for the luggage, additional bed in living space, lots of books on bookshelf, great bathroom with claw foot tub! Overall - 10/10 - would love to come back!!!!!

When I came across this cottage in the summer of 2021, I knew that it would not have made it through another Adirondack winter. The roof rafters were sagging, the walls were leaning outward and the interior was destroyed and open to the weather.
Although it would have been less expensive to tear it down and start over, I would not have been allowed to build a new home in such close proximity to the Hudson River. So, treasuring the location of this dilapidated cottage being virtually on the Hudson River, I committed to rebuilding.

By way of background, I started my career in 1978 as a union carpenter apprentice, then went on to restore a number of historic homes, build new home and land development. So while this project was far from my first venture, it was nevertheless a little daunting to realize how much renovation the little house needed.

Once the mechanical and structural work were complete, I decided to indulge in some extra nice interior finishes: antique beams from an old covered bridge, built in china rack, Turkish tiled backsplash, antique tub and sink for the bathroom, stained glass transom and knotty pine woodwork.

The riverfront cottage is now good for another hundred years.

Come enjoy this unique space!

Why they chose this property

Located almost directly on the Hudson River, the cottage offers a pretty little grassed beach where you can slip right into the water. Years ago a family who rented the cottage moved hundreds of rock to create a wall in the water, slowing down the current and making it safer and easier to swim in the pool of water upstream of the wall.

What makes this property unique

Downtown sweet North Creek is a short walk from the cottage --- sidewalks most of the way and mostly flat.
