WALK TO JACKKNIFE COVE BEACH in Chatham from this charming, clean, and well-kept home. Enjoy s'mores with the kids at our Outdoor wood FIRE PIT. There is room for more than one family and plenty of space to spread out. There is Wi-Fi, Central Air. There are plenty of board games and puzzles for families to play. Fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances. The unfinished but clean basement has ping-pong table, foosball table, air hockey and dart board. Enjoy outdoor living on a large deck with gas fire pit, hammock and Adirondack chairs to relax in. There is an outdoor enclosed shower with hot/cold water to rinse off when you come home from a day at the beach. This home is nestled in a quiet, peaceful neighborhood and only a quick stroll to Pleasant Bay, where there is a perfect beach for kids and adults.

THE WHALE HOUSE IS EQUIPPED WITH EVERYTHING A FAMILY DESIRES FOR A GREAT VACATION!

At Pleasant Bay, which is just a short walk from the house, you will find both a comfortable beach to relax on and a sheltered cove for children and adults. Jackknife Cove has nice views of the tide and you can swim and search for crabs in the warm shallow water.

Weekly beach stickers for Hardings, Ridgevale, and Cockle Cove Beaches, and parking along Bridge Street are available at the kiosk in the beach parking lots.
The price changes from year to year. One pass is good for all three Chatham beaches and/or for the parking along Bridge Street for Lighthouse Beach. You can also pay for one day parking.

Wonderful property with an amazing yard and a basement with foosball, ping pong, air hockey, plus a million toys for the kids. We had a great stay and our hosts were communicative and friendly. Would stay at the property again for sure!

Great property

This house has everything a family could possibly need, is in a great location and was super relaxing and cozy. There’s so much outside space to enjoy and having two bedrooms upstairs and two downstairs is perfect for two smaller families. The home is a bit older and could use some updating but overall was a great place to enjoy the cape.

Family Gathering

My family spent a week at The Whale House and it was a wonderful experience. The house is well appointed, clean and close to all of the beaches in Chatham and the center of town. The rooms were spacious and the backyard was a great place to gather in the evening around the fire pit and on the deck for meals. If everything lines up right we will be looking to spend another vacation at The Whale House next summer.

Family Vacation

Overall the property was good - Had plenty of room, the outdoor space was nice with good amenities. Kitchen area is small but functional. When we arrived it was very hot (83) and took a long time to cool down, and the basement, while it has some decent games, is pretty dingy.

We are happy you enjoyed your stay and appreciate your feedback. Yes. It is not a finished basement but we try to offer our guests another space with games (ping pong, air hockey, foosball, darts…). We do our best to keep it updated and clean. It’s unfortunate that the house was warm when you arrived. The previous tenants must have turned off the AC. We added to our welcome information package a request not to turn off the AC when leaving the house.

Perfect vacation home for a family of 7!

We had such a nice week. Your home was the perfect resting spot as well as launch pad for our many adventures! It was so very comfortable and relaxing and we loved the layout and decor. I was impressed that my parents, my husband and I, and our three children all found the house an ideal setting for our vacation. The patio was so pleasant for morning coffee and family dinners. The basement was a great option for entertaining the kids and my husband and I loved the spacious master bedroom and comfortable living room. We will definitely recommend your home to friends and hope to return some day!

Chatham week

Property was just as described. Plenty of room, lots to do. Location was perfect for us. Quiet neighborhood. We visited four beaches, the rail trail, golfed, dined, all within easy 30 min drive. Basement air hockey table was a big hit. Basement was not clean, but kids didn’t mind .Yard was great, enjoyed outdoor dining. Outdoor shower is a garden hose, but is perfect for rinsing sandy bodies! Communication was difficult at best. VRBO staff was big help just prior to stay, communication problems solved. Highly recommend a visit to Chatham and stay at the Whale House

We had a wonderful time in a charming home, in a charming little town!

As VRBO owners ourselves, The Whale House met all of the expectations we try to provide to our own visitors....it was very clean...and comfortable inside! The home and the grounds were beautiful, and well manicured. The neighborhood was old, but "upscale", the neighbors friendly, and property was close to just about everything! We slept with our windows open every night, and were awakened by a plethora of song birds every morning. We enjoyed sitting on the deck, drinking coffee in the morning while watching the chipmunks scurry among the shrubs, and enjoying that same outdoor deck with a bottle of wine, recapping the days adventures. If we ever get the opportunity to visit Cape Cod again, we would certainly stay at The Whale House! Beth & Jim Landry.

Large, comfortable house in quiet neighborhood

Our family of 5 (3 teens/young adults, 2 adults) enjoyed a week in Chatham at the Whale House. Plenty of room for all of us to spread out, with a large living room and 4 good sized bedrooms. Great outdoor space with large deck and backyard to play cornhole. Games in (unfinished) basement are fun, plus tons of books to read during your vacation. Central AC worked well during a heat wave. The owners were very responsive. Only negatives are that the kitchen and baths are small and dated (very little counter space for meal prep). While the immediate neighborhood is quiet and great for walks, the roads into town are too busy for comfortable biking.

Just Amazing

Arielle's home, the Whale House, was the perfect place for my family to spend the week on the Cape and Arielle was a welcoming and helpful host. The house has just about everything one could want to stay comfortable in between the beaches, biking, and fun, with special perks like the fire pit for smores roasting at night and table games for the kids in the basement. Truly a fantastic place.

Perfect and well maintained vacation house

Wonderful wonderful house. Perfect for our family of 5 with adult kids. House is immaculate and well maintained with new and high end appliances. Love the open layout and deck. Close to nice beach, town, restaurants. Made for a great vaca -- we are back this year for another bit of Cape cod heaven.

Dear Kennedy Family, Thank you for a lovely vacation in your Chatham home. All of the rooms were beautifully and comfortably decorated, and included all of the practical amenities that made our stay stress-free. We loved the open-floor plan; there was plenty of room for all activities - from quiet reading, game playing, to outdoor games. The neighborhood was quiet and perfect for early morning or late afternoon walks. We also enjoyed the proximity to the bike trails. We were delighted to find the private nearby beach, and we enjoyed the shopping and restaurants of historic downtown Chatham. Mrs. Kennedy was easy to reach and responsive to our questions and needs.
