Our first time staying at Beautiful Retreat was wonderful. The house is very comfortable and has everything you need for a great vacation. The location is perfect! The hot tub is a nice bonus. Mike was great with communication and very helpful. Would definitely rent again.
Mikes place in Chatham was absolutely amazing. His response time was so quick and very comfortable for everyone in our group. It’s a great location downtown and to the beach. Would definitely book his place again.
2nd time staying in this wonderful home. The home is centrally located, very roomy and kitchen was well stocked. The hot tub malfunctioned while we were there and Mike came immediately to fix it. Looking forward to another stay here in the future.
We had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend stay at this nice home in Chatham. The highlight was definitely the private deck in the backyard—it was the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the beautiful weather. The hot tub was another great perk, adding a touch of luxury to our evenings. The home's location was great: close to downtown Chatham and a 15-20 minute walk to the beach. It was the perfect weekend getaway for our family of four plus our dog. Highly recommend!
We have stayed at this property several times. The home is very welcoming and well furnished. The home is located close to all we like to do in the area; beach, restaurants and Chatham center. Plus the owner is very responsive. We will continue to stay here for our next visit to Chatham.
The girls from work always go for a long weekend in the fall to get away and recharge.
The house and hit tub were perfect. Enough bedrooms for everyone to have their own space and the deck was out gathering spot all weekend
Great place, just fit 5 of us and dog comfortably. Kitchen table was awkward for us to sit at, back deck space was beautiful but we had to wear shoes extremely rough/splintered wood, the many cushions were a pain to keep dry, very clean house and great location! Owner was very responsive.
Would stay there again.😊
We thoroughly enjoyed this property. Comfy, had everything we needed, and we spent every evening outside on the beautiful deck. Can’t wait to stay here again- highly recommend.
Spent an amazing Memorial Day weekend in Chatham with evening walks to Ridgevale to enjoy the sunsets and Kreme n Kone for soft serve. Hot tub was a major bonus for the whole family! Loved everything about this property!
A little problem with the cleaning crew before we moved in, but that was addressed promptly. We very much enjoyed our stay at this property and would stay again. Be sure you know the linens policy for summer guests.
It was the perfect size for our family. Close to town and the beaches. Great baclyard, deck and hot tub. New appliances. The house is well cared for. We would definitely stay here again.
Mike’s place was perfect for our stay. It’s very conveniently located, not too far from Chatham with plenty of food and drink options locally, and also a short walk to Ridgevale Beach. It’s also really well positioned for exploring the rest of the cape. The property had plenty of space to accommodate us all and was kitted out with all the essentials we needed for our stay, as well as really useful beach gear and amazing outdoor space for relaxing afternoons. Would highly recommend this gem of a vacation rental property!
Overall, Mike's place had everything we needed. Plenty of kitchen gadgets & glasses for any type of cocktail/glass of water. We used the hot tub one evening. Very accessible and plenty big for 4 of us. One evening we sat on the deck for happy hour. Was very enjoyable. One comment....the cushions need to be retrieved from the basement. Probably because of the damp weather (but not sure), there was a very strong musty smell. We went as fast as we could to gather the cushions (and also the beach chairs that were in the basement which we used for happy hour on the beach). After our stay, I mentioned this to Mike and he said he wished we had said something as there are dehumidifiers ready to roll at the flick of a switch. Honestly, this wasn't something that I would have mentioned during the stay. I certainly would have contacted him for something that was broken or not working correctly, but a musty basement isn't something I would consider quickly fixable. So I want future guests to know that the dehumidifiers are available and can be turned on to hopefully mitigate the musty smell. There are 4 bedrooms as described; however, the queen bed on the first floor really seemed like a full size bed (we own a queen). I mentioned this to Mike and he said that the beds were custom made and measure to a queen. Our sheets fit, but I felt the bed was smaller.Easy walk to the beach and a great instruction book is provided. Also easy location to go anywhere on the Cape.
Overall we were satisfied with the property but were surprised to find out before we arrived that sheets and towels are not provided during the summer season. Since we were traveling by plane from Iowa, this was a huge issue for us, and we had to scramble to figure out how to come up with the linens we needed for the week. This not-so-minor detail should be disclosed in the first two lines of the listing - we would have ruled it out immediately. If you don't mind supplying your own linens, I would recommend the property. The location is fabulous. The place is outdated but it is clean and comfortable.
This home is in a lovely, quiet and very convenient neighborhood--off busy Highway 28 but very safe and not a sound from the street! The house is nice--older, but the TV has been updated to a flatscreen (the listing's photos show an older model). The hot tub is large, beautiful and clean. The outdoor shower is amazing! The listing says there are two queen beds downstairs, but there is one twin/trundle and one queen downstairs and one queen and three twins upstairs. The beds were comfortable, and the window air-conditioners worked well. There were a number of small things that can easily be improved--a kitchen under-counter light that blinked, front bushes that needed trimming (hard to walk past them) and an upstairs bathroom sink drain that was slow. We called to get the front porch lightbulb replaced, and the owner did so immediately. We were disappointed that the bicycles provided in the basement were in disrepair. The owner communicated fairly well--I had to ask questions more than once to get an answer. All in all, it was a good stay!
We had a fantastic week in Chatham. Our family has stayed in the same neighborhood for the past 5 summers. We weren’t sure if we were returning this summer to Cape Cod so we didn’t book our usual property early enough and it was fully booked. We were thrilled to snag a week at Mike’s place as we recognized the house from our many walks and bike rides around the neighborhood. It was a very comfortable home for our family of 5 plus my in-laws. The kitchen was very well stocked and the beds were comfy. You can tell it’s a loved home. You can’t beat the location. Would definitely book again! It was a wonderful week.
Had a wonderful time in spite of hurrican Lee. House was spacious enough for 5 and room to spare. The house is charming and the neighborhood is lovely.
Very clean, house was even better in person than in the pictures. We stayed for a long weekend in October with 2 adults, 2 kids and a small dog. We had plenty of room, didn’t use one of the bedrooms. It was a nice quiet residential neighborhood. I can’t speak to the beach - we went for a soccer tournament so didn’t make it to the beach. Several restaurants are nearby and it’s pretty close to downtown Chatham and Harwichport.

Why they chose this property
This property holds many family memories for us. We have 5 grown children of college age and older. They grew up summering in Chatham. They don't come down as much now so we decided to rent our place out so that other families could have the same experience are family has enjoyed.
