About this property
West End Charmer, Streetfront with Water Access
Rental Certificate: BOHR -19-2073.
In the heart of Provincetown's West End, looking out your huge picture window at the oldest house in Provincetown, a private green alley, beautiful gardens, the parade of people walking by . . . You're a short distance from town but away from most of the noise and hubub. And in one of the cutest coziest charming studios with access to the beach right down the walkway on the side of the house. There isn't a deck on the water but you have a nice place outside your door to sit outdoors and you can take a beach chair and sit on the beach. You won't want to leave . . . well most of the time.
Recently renovated. It has all the modern conveniences and appliances. It is about 350 square feet with a fully separate and good size kitchen and bathroom, washer/drier, queen size bed with storage. There's a comfortable couch, table and chairs to enjoy your view, smart tv, internet. Also lots of touches which make it special from great original artwork, playful and interesting items including an oldbarn door, repurposed doors for the closet, old cabinet with a great painting for the tv and more. This is a space that deserves its appellation - charmer. You won't find another one like this.
Please be aware that if you book, VRBO will send you directions and a welcome guide 3 days prior to your arrival.

About the host
Hosted by Barry Barnes
That's me Barry on the left and my partner John on the right. I grew up in Melrose MA just north of Boston, went to Williams College in Williamstown MA and Georgetown Law. Practiced law in the public service sector for many a year and then ran a highly successful restaurant in Ptown, Gallerani's Cafe. Am currently semi retired (semi because I still run this property) and enjoying spending time in Ptown as well as the Big Island of Hawaii in the winter and travelling at other times. Part of the great pleasure of renting is hosting people (as I did in the restaurant) in order to provide a unique and enjoyable experience beyond the ordinary. Having travelled a lot and done many home exchanges, I try to provide an environment that goes beyond the essentials to enhance the senses through the aesthetics of the place from furnishings to artwork . . . If possible, I like to interact and ultimately meet my guests but I also want guests to have their privacy and since we travel actually meeting is not always practical or possible. I do believe everyone that stays at the Charmer thoroughly enjoys their experience. I've been doing this many a year.
Why they chose this property
I always wanted to have a place on the water and when I came to Provincetown, fell in love with it, and decided to make it my home, I decide to buy this property and gradually fix it up. The access to the water on a daily basis was the crucial decision in buying this place as well as its location in the West End of town with easy access to Herring Cove and the other beaches.
What makes this property unique
This property felt unique in the way it was tucked in between Capt. Jack's Wharf and the houses next door. For a place on the water it felt cozy in its location. Also it was in the West End and had a beautiful view out the front to Mr. Maynard's studio and the oldest house in Ptown. I've tried to upgrade the house in comfort while keeping the former charm of each apt.
