We loved the Falcon Cottage. The cottage had everything we needed and was located on such a beautiful piece of property convenient to RT100. Mary was very helpful with recommendations and information about the area.
What a special place. Mary was a fantastic host. The house is charming, secluded, comfortable, clean, and felt like home. The property is beautiful - incredible views, sounds and smells, and we really loved our night at the fire pit. Plenty of fun sights to see and places to eat nearby. Just a magical weekend.
The cottage was lovely but the pond was not good for swimming due to murky and greenish water. There was no zip line. Sandy beach was nice but there were leeches in the water. This is a shared property which requires the visitors to walk down a driveway past the owner’s house to reach the pond and the fire pit.
The cottage was lovely with many windows and in a woody surrounding. Deck off BR allowed eating outside while admiring wildflowers and looking for birds and butterflies (our kind of thing!). What was disappointing was that the pond (not a lake)Was thought to be in front of cottage along with fire pit but both were actually a short walk away past the owner’s house which was just next door. Did not end up using the small pond for swimming because it looked rather murky although there was an aerating hose. Too small for kayaking for adults also. Hiking trails and falls were not far to get to.

Sorry about the pond. The water level is always low in August but with the current severe drought conditions in Central Vermont it is especially low and a bit murky.
The house is very clean and cozy and stocked well with everything you could need. The property is really beautiful, and Mary is a fantastic host. It’s close enough to some great hiking and restaurants but far enough for someone looking for peace and quiet. We had a wonderful stay and would absolutely do it again!
This is a lovely guest cottage. I was in the area so my son could attend a local music camp, and the house was a great base to return to in the evenings. Would definitely come back.
The house is spotless, beautiful, and in a private location.Every little detail is thoughtful in this fantastic place. The host is very kind and responsive.Truly magical place!
What a fantastic stay! The cottage was lovely and perfect for our small family (2 adults, 2 little kids). The grounds were beautiful, we enjoyed the fire pit, zipline, kayaking, and beautiful views. Mary was a fantastic host, and available as needed. It was the perfect the location for us to explore surrounding areas for the day, and very close to Warren, Rochester and Waitsfield for restaurants, swimming holes, farmer's markets, Sugarbush mountain, etc. Tranquil, relaxing vacation.
Secluded, cozy, and clean. Mary was a great host, both friendly and communicative. The view from the cottage was delightful, with plenty of trees, and the lake was beautiful. The kitchen had everything we needed - it was nice not to bring cooking supplies.
We had a great time time staying at Mary’s Cottage. We skied at Sugarbush and celebrated New years. Cottage was 15 min from sugarbush mountain. The property was beautiful and the cottage was perfect for a family of four.
Mary was a lovely host and made sure we had everything we needed. The property was wonderful, with a fire pit, propane grill, hammock, kayaks, small pond, and more. While the town itself is small and remote, it doesn’t take too long to drive to nearby places. There are some great trails and amazing scenery nearby. Perfect for a weekend getaway or if you want to go “camping” without being outdoors.
Mary's cottage is fantastic. Sugarbush and Killington are 20 to 40 minutes away. Stowe and Okemo are about an hour. Waitsfield is about 20 minutes and has good shopping/resturaints. You'll definitely want 4WD in the winter.
We enjoyed our stay for the most part. I would recommend replacing the futon as it was very uncomfortable to sit on. Was a little disappointed that I couldn't go fishing anywhere because of a drought in the area everything was kind of dried up. But overall things were very clean and it was a very quiet pleasant stay in a beautiful surrounding.
The cottage was perfect! Great location in the middle of the Green Mountains. The cottage included everything we needed. Very clean. Very peaceful which is what I was looking for on this trip. There was a guest manual that included everything we needed to know. Mary is very accommodating. The pond and yard were nice. Nice selection of yard games including kayaks and a zip line. Highly recommended!
We stayed for 6 weeks enjoying the country wooded area. It had all the amenities to make our stay comfortable. Some might say it is out of the way, but that only added to the peace and quiet. We were only a 15 to 20 minute ride Rochester to the South or Warren, Sugarbush and the Mad River Valley to the North. Our hostess made us feel welcome.
This was the perfect little cottage for our girls trip to Vermont from the south to see the fall foliage! Very cozy, extremely clean, and tucked away for privacy. We did not spend much time here since we were exploring towns but on our last day we took a walk down to the pond on the property and it was stunning and so serene. Mary was so sweet and made sure upon our arrival that we were settled in. House had everything we needed to be comfortable. Will absolutely stay here again if we venture back up one day.
