Cozy Log Cabins located in the Green Mountains of Vermont

What a great place to escape from it all! Sleep in one of our very own hand-hewn log cabins situated on 232 acres of land. Walk into a charming country kitchen, fully equipped with everything you need to make a romantic dinner or just relax in the cozy living area with your favorite book by the wood-burning stove.
Early summer evenings are best enjoyed while rocking on the covered porch with a glass of cool lemonade watching the wind rustle through the leaves as deer graze nearby.
If you are the more adventurous type; enjoy a stroll down to the pond and ride on the paddle boat perhaps catching a glimpse of the wild geese and Mallards who visit there, or hike one of our many, beautiful woodland trails. Picnics are 'a must' with the outdoor grills and picnic tables we provide.
Rest, relax and enjoy your vacation in one of the most serene and beautiful settings Vermont has to offer. Your vacation to Birch Meadow will be one of your most treasured memories!

There is a queen size bed downstairs. Loft has a full size bed. Also a futon in the Living Room if necessary. all linens are provided, Due to covid we ask guests to call us if they need trash picked up or more clean towels. We do strive to keep contact to a minimum. My cell phone number is on a card on the table. There is central heat and air condition. Kitchen has pots and pans, dishes, etc. to make a dinner. Parking is right at your door.
You can enjoy a peaceful stay just sitting on the porch or a walk down to the pond for a ride on the paddle boat.

Absolutely Perfect!

Cabin was immaculate, when you rent a cabin in the woods you expect to share a little time with nature, but this cabin was spotless, not even a single cobweb on the porch/overhang. Beautifully decorated, and so quiet and peaceful that I think the loudest thing out there was a butterfly. Check in was excellent, directions from the host were spot on and communication from the host was fantastic. Can't wait to stay again on our next trip.

We stayed at the Bears Den cabin for a few nights, and it was as lovely as advertised! The host was great as well as communicative, and since we were the in the middle of a snowstorm they were great about making sure it was plowed properly for us in the morning!!

Christmas @ Bear Den Cabin

It was magical! The cabin was well equipped with everything you needed. Cabin was clean, warm and charming. It snowed quite a bit ,while we were there , and the roads were well maintained, to travel upon. We will be back , this is definitely a place we want to bring our family to!!

This was our second stay at one of the Birch Meadow Log Cabins, and yet again we had a delightfully cozy and quiet trip despite some exceptionally cold temperatures!

Perfect Getaway

The cabin was in a great location surrounded by beauty at every turn. It is quiet and tranquil with everything needed to enjoy your time. Definitely will go back to visit. It is in a prime location for fall foliage which was just starting to turn. It is going to be stunning.

Great place to unplug

The cabin was really cozy! It was nice to unplug from WiFi and just enjoy the surroundings. We went on a couple hikes on the property. There was still snow and it was cool to see all the animal tracks. I would definitely book this cabin again.

Superbe getaway

The cabin in Brookfield was a true treat. Wood stove, all kitchen and bathroom amenities, and Mary and her husband Matt are incredibly sweet. They take great care of their properties and central air is also available if you want to forego the wood stove. Could definitely see how this place would be great in all seasons. Just make sure you have an all-wheel drive mid- to large size SUV or truck. The road to the cabin is not paved and with some unexpected snow during our stay, we got stuck because our car was only front-wheel drive. Thanks to Mary and Matt, we were able to get out. Really so, so grateful for their responsiveness and swift help! This is a fantastic place to get away and spend some time in the hills. You’re also not too far south of Montpellier, the capital and the Ben & Jerry’s factory. No doubt you’ll enjoy it if you are looking for some quiet in the woods. Hope to be back!!

Secluded Cabin in the Woods

The Cabin was located in a secluded area with 2 other cabins. We stayed in the Indian cabin, and the Moose Cabin is very close in proximity, but it was empty, so it was ok. There's a dirt/stone road leading to the cabin, which our Harley didn't like so much, but it was a beautiful drive there in Brookfield, so we didn't mind. There are really not stores around, so stop in Barre if you need to stock up. The cabin is super cute, small but cozy. There is NO WIFI, so remember that if you book. I was able to ignore emails for 3 days; it was great! Mary, the owner, was very nice and responsive. I think they may live on the property somewhere, but we didn't meet her. The cabin is very clean, and the bed was amazingly comfortable. We spent a lot of time on the front porch in the rocking chairs, by the fire. You can walk up the dirt road, down to a field that has a beautiful, big pond with a wooden swing and a few small boats. It's a very quiet, secluded location, which was perfect for us. We truly enjoyed our stay and would love to go back in the Fall.

Extremely clean and very comfortable beds! Perfect for the two of us. A little remote but we’re liked that. The host was very communicative and extremely patient with us and very helpful as we missed the check in instructions and then locked the key inside the cabin! We highly recommend this cabin for a rustic feel with all the modern amenities. No WiFi but we didn’t really miss it!

quiet retreat

property is exactly what was advertised. quiet, relaxing, from the porch to the lake you see no one. just woods and a metal moose that says hi every day. Absolutely enjoyed ourselves. we wanted to get away from people and we did.the owners were very nice and when we called for garbage removal they were very prompt, was one of the easiest check in and out i have ever had. would recommend this property to everyone who wants a quiet relaxing vacation.

My husband and I moved to VT in 1985, and decided this was the perfect place for log cabins. We are on over 200 acres. of pastoral and mountain views. So peaceful and relaxing. Our family found this to be such a wonderful place,. We watched out grandsons enjoy so many great times here, and now the great grandchildren. So 35 years later it is still the place for wonderful Christmas holidays and memories .that we would love to share.
