This is a nice little one bedroom back house on Andy and Amanda's property. You are only a mile or so from all the main attractions of Ventura and they provided some nice recommendations on places to go for me.
This property was very nice. It was a perfect little spot for me to stay. It had a beautiful bathroom and everything you could need in the kitchen if you were choosing to cook. If not, there was a cute personalized card with restaurant recommendations. The owners were very organized prior to check-in about how everything would go. I will say they could add a few more photos of the outside gate entrance so it is more clear where the location is. Overall, lovely place & I would stay again if I’m going to be in that area.
Beautiful unit behind main home. Perfect size for two adults, potentially one more on futon. Very clean, brand new appliances, beautiful kitchen, small private patio. Great location-close to downtown Main Street and Marina. Hosts were very communicative and helpful with favorite hotspots.
The place was very private and clean. It was well-equipped with everything we needed. The location is very close to the beach and the walking district. The hosts were very nice. We would not hesitate to stay here again if we’re in the Ventura area!
We had a wonderful stay at the Cozy Casa! Andy & Amanda were wonderful hosts, even letting us check in early to help us out! The house is in a wonderful location, near to downtown and was clean, quiet and exactly as described. Would definitely recommend a stay!
Really enjoyed staying at the Cozy Casa in Ventura for a short girls' weekend. Location was close to Main St and downtown, and we had many great Mexican restaurants to choose from. Very comfortable beds and the perfect size for two adults or a small family. Highly recommend visiting Channel Islands too! Great hosts!
Check-in was easy, place was really clean and new, and amazingly equipped. Hosts left a kind note, wine and chocolate. They had everything we needed, including some basic pantry items which made it super easy. Nice outdoor area with chairs and very private. A little oasis which made us feel quite safe. However, the neighbourhood didn’t feel super safe and we didn’t feel comfortable walking around. All in it was a great stay, despite that drawback.
This Ventura stay truly is a gem. Location is close to the downtown Ventura and beach, which was a major plus as we were in and out of the downtown area throughout our stay.
We actually ran into Amanda and Andy as we were unloading our car and were warmly greeted with smiles and pleasant conversation. When a concern arose, we reached out and Andy prompty offered help, which was a plus because sometimes hosts can be hard to reach.
The casa itself has a private entrance and patio area, making it a perfect spot if you are looking to just relax and unwind both indoors and outdoors. My husband and I wouldn't hesitate to come back for another stay!
Our stay at this “Cozy Casa” started with a warm welcome by the host, who lives in the main house. While on the same property, the adorable unit is completely separate from the hosts’ home. It is in an older but nicely maintained neighborhood with a private secured entrance a long way from the street. We felt safe, and it was quiet. Parking is on the street, but we didn’t ever have trouble finding a spot. Everything in the house looks brand new, is nicely decorated and is super clean and comfortable. The lovely patio is shaded by a huge tree and is lit up with beautiful white lights. It was the perfect spot for us as we visited with family in Ventura, and we will likely book the cozy casa again when we come into town.
Owners were awesome, and helpful. Property was gorgeous! Absolutely loved our stay. The entry walkway was brightly lit at night. The house was beautiful and wonderfully clean. They had a high chair and bed for our baby. Full kitchen so I was able to accommodate my food allergies. The patio was so beautiful with the avocado tree, hammock and grill. We stayed to visit family but this would be a gorgeous accommodation for any reason. We were within minutes of the beach and Main Street. Grocery stores were also with in minutes. Only issue was finding Street parking after 9pm but with baby that only happen once. We will be asking this property to stay again!
We were catching a Friday night show at Santa Barbara Bowl and decided rather than driving back to Long Beach afterwards, we'd stay the weekend. We looked at various hotels and VRBO options in and around SB, and this little spot in Ventura was perfect.
Getting there was easy, and just as Amanda and Andy stated in the description , street parking is a challenge. But not an inconvenience at all. Access in/out was a breeze and the unit is super cute. The photos are 100% accurate. The welcome note and bottle of cab & chocolates were unexpected and completely appreciated.
I walked the short distance towards the beach both mornings, got my steps in and watched the surfers. We also enjoyed an amazing breakfast at Cafe Nouveau (still dreaming about the sweet potato biscuits) and enjoyed the main street area variety of restaurants & movie theater.
We will definitely keep this spot in mind for the future.
We came to Ventura for a birthday/Channel Islands trip ( we live in SoCal, so just a few hours drive). We stayed for 3 nights, and loved our time in Ventura & Santa Barbara.
Arrived on Friday, met Andy (by happenstance) -- very nice and welcoming family. SUCH a nice unit -- clean, all the comforts of home -- seriously -- a very small but impactful entrance where you can hang jackets/hats, fully equipped kitchen, huge smart TV, lovely outside seating area with carefully tended succulents on the back yard table, lighted pathways when you return after dark, AND the wine, chocolates and hand-written welcome others shared. FYI: no Kourig coffee maker (yet?)
A previous poster shared concerns about location -- unless you show interest in meeting the owners, you will not be bothered by/aware of them at all. This is a very PRIVATE rental. This is also an older neighborhood without a HOA, so some homes don't show the "pride of ownership" that these and many other homeowners in the neighborhood do. We never felt unsafe ourselves or for our vehicle.
Overall, a wonderful stay and we will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Ventura :) Thanks!

Good for a couple
Andy and Amanda were very prompt in communication. Chocolates and wine were a very kind gesture. Ventura is old school with an edge. Good restaurants, bars, music.
The space itself was well appointed. I feel this rental is an adequate size for a couple. For a family of 5 (very small kiddos). it just wasn't big enough. Andy was kind enough to let us squeeze 5 in and a dog, with an added fee.
The description stated a pull out sofa, it was an old futon (another adult couple would have been disappointed in this I believe), so a bit disappointed in that description. Also, my wife and I read through the property description a few times, and it doesn't state the owners actually live on the property, separated by a fence. This is a deal breaker for us, and we wouldn't have rented the unit if we knew this. Just a personal preference. When we go away, we like to have our privacy, more privacy than a fence away from the owners.
Also, the neighborhood, although I didn't really mind it, my wife and kids just didn't feel safe. Although it might not be too far from the beach, the neighborhood isn't so desirable. This isn't a slight on the people in this part of Ventura, it's just an honest feeling my wife and kids felt.
I personally wouldn't return to this property or part of Ventura, but do want to express the ease of communication with Andy throughout my stay.
