What's new? Almost everything!!! In 2017 we added a 300 square feet master bedroom. The bathrooms were transformed into elegant, luxury bathrooms. New rock and an amazing mantlepiece are the focal point of the living room; that is if you can tear yourself away from the fabulous views of Lake Guntersville from each bedroom and living room. We have a beautiful new flagstone walkways, new landscaping, and larger driveway. We replaced the sliding glass doors in each bedroom that lead to the patio. We painted the living area paneling a light gray color, which brightened the space. We have painted the interior and much of the exterior. It was time to replace the boathouse. Now guests have their own slip with lift, chest freezer and fish cleaning station.

We had an awesome stay at Waterfront Guntersville Gateway. Everything about the property exceeded our expectations. The location on the lake is perfect and made it incredibly easy to get out on the water. The boathouse was excellent and made launching, tying up, and storing our boats super convenient. The house itself was very clean and comfortable. The bathrooms were great and everything felt well maintained and thoughtfully set up for guests. There was also plenty of parking, which made things really easy for our group and our boats. The host was truly above and beyond. Communication was quick, helpful, and they made sure we had everything we needed during our stay.Overall this place is an 10/10. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great place on Lake Guntersville.
Always love visiting Guntersville and this trip was no exception… we enjoyed staying at this nice home right on the lake. One level and plenty of room. Easy to find and the owner is very easy to work with. Check in was a breeze. We had ages from 3 months to 63 and everyone had a relaxing fun time.
Very nice clean cabin close to the water and private. Nice boat house and plenty of small to large fish to catch there. Close to town for about anything you may need.
Beautiful property. Plenty of room. Nice quiet neighborhood.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write us a great review! We are happy to share our home with wonderful guests like you. Michelle we look forward to having you back soon!
We absolutely loved this rental property. All the windows allowed us to see the gorgeous lake view from every room. The house was very well stocked and located close to local dining and shopping. The owner was easily reachable and quick to respond. We would definitely rent this house again and highly recommend it.
My wife and I had a wonderful week in this beautiful home. Perfect location and amazing view of the lake. The house was very clean with nice updates. Property manager was very friendly and very accommodating. Highly recommend this property!
A great relaxing location with lake views from every room exactly as described. We loved hanging by the firepit. Our pets especially enjoyed the large windows to watch the birds. Additionally, Nicholas responded quickly on questions we had.
House was perfect and exactly what we were looking for. We wanted a quiet place on the lake where our dog could swim and we could enjoy the lake. It was all that and more. The house had such a clean smell when you walked in. Floors were spotless and the couch was actually vacuumed! Even though there were houses on each side, the house was situated on the lot with tons of trees. We never saw anyone else. The sitting area by the lake was divine! We will definitely return when we are back in the area.
We loved this place! Comfortable house right on the lake. This property has a dock with slip that visitor can use. This enabled me to skip loading/unloading my boat everyday for use. This was especially helpful when it rained! This makes it great for fishing trips...
We definitely recommend staying here.
We came down from Knoxville to visit with family for the holidays. The house was just right for our needs. We were able to cook a big meal and host family. Our dogs loved the windows and watching the ducks. The water views are gorgeous. We will plan on retiring when it’s warmer!
My family and I stayed for a few days and had a great time! Beautiful home on a perfect lot! The only thing missing is a private boat ramp and the only reason I even mention that is because we have a couple of large fishing kayaks that we weren't able to use but we had the bass boat too so it worked out fine. There is a public boat launch about a mile aways. Highly recommend staying here!
Was there for a week with husband, daughter, her husband and boys. We were very pleased with location, the use of the boathouse, but especially Nicholas! Wonderful host! He was always pleasant and helpful everytime I talked with him! Property was clean and there was plenty of room for all of us. We will definitely be returning!
A quiet retreat with tranquil views of the lake, birds and beautiful sunsets from the dock. We loved the back patio in the evenings. Fishing was OK but had to be patient. Bass, catfish, bluegill, eagle, loons and ospreys were common.
Been renting a lake home for the family the past 15 years and everyone said they loved this one best overall. They want to return next year although I have always went to a different lake and state each year for different experiences. They may persuade me to return to Huntersville next year though.

About the host
Hosted by Nicholas or Lyndall Hamlett
My parents, built this home in 1958. My father helped design the house with it's open living and dining area floor plan. I have kept some of the retro look by leaving some of the original fixtures, but it has also been completely updated the kitchen, laundry room, both bathrooms and added a 300 square foot master bedroom added.
I live just 3 miles away, also in Guntersville. My husband and I have lived here since 1990. He is the pastor of the First Presbyterian Church in Albertville. We are still keeping it in the family. My son Nicholas manages the property for me.
Why they chose this property
It is among a small number of lake houses situated on a relatively flat lot. Many of the other properties have a steep incline to walk up from the Lake to the house.
What makes this property unique
It is a jewel of lake front property, because it is not steep and keeps deep water year round. It has shady and sunny areas of this one acre property that provides privacy. It is in a cove. My favorite part about the house is the windows. In almost every room of the house you can look at the serene lake. The retro look has been blended with modern convenience. For example there are modern granite countertops and antique dressers that have been passed down in my family.
