Magical Riverside Yurt, hot tub & the BRPW, pet friendly near Floyd, Va

A Yurt with all the comfort of home, right beside a noisy trout stocked creek. Sit in the hot tub enjoying the views of the river and the passing wildlife, or stargazing at night, and the steep mountain across the creek providing added privacy. Sleep under the stars, looking through the dome. This yurt has a beautiful soaking tub inside, with endless hot water, a back up well, and two minisplits for heat and air. also a wood pellet stove for additional heat and ambience. a biker friendly driveway, and a twenty minute drive to Floyd, Virginia. We have two coffee makers, an air fryer, stove top, microwave, and full size refridge. The memory foam mattress will make you want stay in the bed. The yurt is 2.5 miles from a local meadery, 3 miles from Konowha Valley, nearby hiking, wineries, breweries, and a speakeasy. Many quaint mountain towns to explore and shop in as well. This water is great for white water kayaking at high levels, floating at normal levels and walking thru the middle with a spinning reel to catch the nights dinner. There is a nearby canoe/ kayak rental and shuttle that’s inexpensive and a beautiful scenic float. We offer a side by side rental for our guests as well, for an additional fee if they are interested in traveling all the dirt roads nearby and seeing what our area has to offer up close.

This was perfect! Set back away from the main house right by the river. We had the most amazing firefly show along with the Strawberry Moon while in the hot tub!

We loved the view, the cleanliness, this was an excellent stay! We will definitely be back. The river was full of fish and crawdads, drinking coffee on the deck by the river and Mountain View was a highlight as well.

Great stay!!

We spent just one night here. Wish we could have stayed several! This was one of the neatest places we have ever stayed! It was wonderful being able to listen to the creek all night long. The views of the area were amazing. The owners have done an amazing job here. Would definitely stay again!

Yurts make us happy

Although this was just a quick getaway, the owner and location provided a great experience. Everything about the rental was absolutely perfect. This was a truly relaxing stay that recharged us until we can return again.

Perfect Getaway

This place is a perfect location on the large creek. The yurt was top notch with everything needed for a weekend away or longer. The side-by-side was a great way to explore the back country roads. Highly recommend hiking at Buffalo nature preserve. The views were amazing! Owners were super nice and helpful with everything! Looking forward to booking again!

Perfect Relaxing Spot

The sound of the stream 24/7 is amazing. The full size bathroom is a treasure! And the hot tub, oh my! You can enjoy the sunrise and sunset from this spot. Perfect for a romantic getaway. We will be back!

Just an amazing tranquil place

My dog and I spent two wonderfully peaceful, serene nights at the yurt. I myself enjoyed the oversized indoor tub with an endless supply of hot water. My dog and I loved the heat from the wood pellet stove. And the stream babbling alongside us was ever so meditating. Thank you so very much JoDee for a lovely stay. I felt so safe and warm here. I'll be back to lay in the hammock on a warm sunny day taking in the sounds of the stream. And checking out the Hippie Town of Floyd. <3

Such an amazing time!!!

My fiancé and I came here as a late birthday trip for both of us. We live in the city but I’m from the country so it was SO nice to get back out there!! The yurt itself was so clean, cute and cozy. The hot tub was amazing, especially at about dusk! :) renting the side by side is an absolute must as there are SO many awesome sights to see nearby. The hosts house is about a football field away five or take, which we didn’t know until our arrival, but if you want privacy then that is what you get! They were very respectful of giving us our space even though we were so close and they even have some pups you might see roaming about when they’re out on their breaks! Our WiFi went out momentarily and Jodee was very responsive even though she was out of town, and offered to send her husband down to troubleshoot if the signal didn’t return. I’m very, very pleased overall, and would definitely stay here again!

Absolutely beautiful place to unwind. Fly fishing and nearby hiking make this a great place. Located close enough to town to grab necessities, but remote enough to relax and recharge. The star gazing from the hot tub was stunning

Jodee's place is BEAUTIFUL! The hot tub, fire pits, and yurt itself were beautiful, and hearing the creek outside the Yurt in the evening was the best way to fall asleep. We stayed for one night, but have every intention of returning to this beautiful property!

Property was well landscaped and very clean inside as well. No complaints whatsoever. Would come back again. Hot tub and the stream was very nice. Only thing I would recommend is not coming into the property on the 2.5 mile long dirt road.

This was our first yurt experience and we loved it! The interior is very cozy and comfortable and filled with all sorts of interesting decor. The surrounding landscape is beautiful, especially the creek that runs behind the yurt. Jodee, our host, is a gem. She and her dogs were willing to spend some time chatting with us as we sat by the outdoor fire pit. This is a really cool place. We plan to return.

Magical Indeed

This trip was absolutely magical. Just off the beaten path, this yurt is next to a creek and the views from the hot tub are great day and night. We had some issues with the wifi, but there’s so much to do day and night we didn’t end up needing it. Definitely worth it to rent the ATV. Jodee was attentive, responsive and created an atmosphere to remember.

I love the mountains! What else can I say? I like the sparse population, all of the outdoor activities, the dogs having freedom, and very low crime rate.

Why they chose this property

We love this area, it has so much to offer! Water everywhere, kayaking and canoe rentals, fishing,wineries, breweries, a nearby distillery, ziplining, fabulous hiking, drives on the Blue Ridge Parkway, great motorcycle rides, we are two miles from Kanawha Valley and its all back roads on the side by side. I cannot imagine living anywhere else, with our summers that are not unpleasantly hot, cool springs, falls, and a gorgeous snows.
