About this property

Newly Renovated Former Cider House with outdoor covered patio and gas grill.

The Cider House, formerly Foggy Ridge Cider's award winning production facility, is now available as a newly renovated sleek modern vacation rental less than 25 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway, music in Floyd, VA, the New river, and area wineries. WiFi is newly available.

The large airy King Bedroom has a contemporary four poster bed. A carpeted bunk bed bedroom sleeps two. The main living area, the former fermentation room for the cidery, is a modern urban-inspired open space with new full service kitchen, seating area with TV (for playing movies from your laptop) and dining area that seats four. Starlink WiFi is available.

The former crush pad has a gas grill and an open outdoor high top dining and sofa seating areas. This unique property is next to one of Foggy Ridge Cider's heirloom cider apple orchards, a short walk to Laurel Fork Creek, a stocked trout stream, and near Floyd Fest, the Hillsville Flea Markets, Yoga Jam, Primland, the Blue Ridge Parkway, biking on the New River Trail, and the town of Floyd, VA. Verizon cell service is the best connection in the area though most of the county is covered by other providers.

Great getaway spot!

This place is immaculate and so comfy! The outdoor space is perfect, just wish we'd had more time to spend doing nothing. The nearby town of Floyd is a must see quaint little town with the coolest vibe! Definitely would love to visit again.

Respite in the Blue Ridge Mountains

My sister and I came to rest between to legs of a road trip home. The Cider House provided so much more than comfortable lodging. The beauty of the property is truly restorative.

Amazing transformation

I’ll be honest in disclosing I’ve visited when the building was used for a retail location, so to see its transformation into a residence was quite a thrill. It allows a glimpse into its former life and still gives a stylish and very functional place to stay a weekend or longer. Cozy areas to sit for a good book or just relax with an appropriate beverage. The bed was my first experience of getting lost and enjoying it. The surrounding area provides plenty for activities, from exploring the immediate trails near or on Buffalo Mtn to visiting the town of Floyd for music and a meal. I look forward to a return trip

Country wonder. Loved the apple orchards.

This is a unique property in a very special location. It is remote but well worth the effort to get there. A perfect place for reflection in a very well-appointed property. I would highly recommend making the effort to explore this area. We took a walk at dusk in the orchard and were greeted by several deer who were looking for apple drops. So picturesque. Lovely hiking trails on the property. Would come back in a heartbeat.

Fantastic Fall Mountain Getaway

My husband and I loved our stay at this gem of a property! The leaves were breathtakingly beautiful and the property was so lovely. The house has everything we needed and was exceptionally clean. We walked the property daily with our morning coffee. There is so much to do in the area especially if you enjoy hiking and the outdoors. We are already planning a return trip. Thank you Diane!

Fantastic Getaway

We loved Diane and Chuck’s place! It was serene and peaceful with cows grazing across the small country road. Diane was very responsive the multiple times I reached out. We loved the apple orchards…the apples were delicious. You can’t beat the stars at night. I loved being off the grid and it was a great time of family connection for us and our teenage boys. So glad there was no internet!

Amazing stay

We loved our time at the Cider House. Diane has retained its history with a beautiful and comfortable renovation. Bed was comfortable and cabin had everything we needed. The washer and dryer was nice so we could pack light. We sat on the porch in the mornings and evenings, which is mostly shaded, enjoying the view of the apple orchards and wildlife, deers and birds. A black bear did walk right by the cabin on our last morning. We were inside so it was a cool sighting to see one that close. We loved the town of Floyd. All the artisans’ work is incredible and the Red Rooster Cafe has great biscuits and cinnamon buns. We hiked Buffalo Mtn. And Rocky Knob. Both are moderate trails with great views of the Blue Ridge. We hope to return soon!

Very relaxing

My husband, my mom, my 8 year old daughter and myself got away for a few days to this wonderfully renovated Cider House. We had the pleasure to stay at the farmhouse last year and when we saw this one, thought we’d try it out. It was very relaxing, the beds were very comfortable. Diane even brought a few extra blankets when I asked, due to the very cold weather. She is a fabulous host and very attentive. This was our second stay and won’t be our last. During the Covid pandemic and wanting to be away from a lot of people, this spot is beautiful and meet our needs, although you could easily drive about 20-25 minutes to several towns. Had a great, non-stressful visit and enjoyed the snow they had received on Christmas. It was beautiful! Thanks again for being wonderful hosts.

Beautiful property,host was prompt in response. Instructions for TV and streaming need be more detailed . Confusing at best. Need a code that isn’t listed in instructions. Maybe move router closer to living room . Internet in and out. Other than that nice stay
