About the host
Hosted by Chris Clay
While not from NOLA originally, after graduating from Tulane, I realized I couldn’t shake this incredible city and have made it my home for 10+ years now. Though I do love to travel, I always find myself excited to get back.
I love having family and friends visit, to give me a ready excuse to eat, drink or enjoy any number of the city’s incredible sights and events.
I also pride myself on being nice and helpful to my guests while they are in my home.

What makes this property unique
Valence is a quiet residential road located in the historic Freret Uptown neighborhood. In recent years the Freret Corridor (as it is known) has been undergoing an exciting revival, and has now become one of the most vibrant neighborhoods in NOLA.
The area now boasts numerous food, coffee, and bar options, all within walking distance of the house. If you are exhausted after a day of exploring and just want to relax ‘at home’, many of the local establishments have take–out or delivery options through Uber Eats or DoorDash.
A Rouse Market very recently opened on the corner of Valence & Freret Street, a block away. Vals Restaurant, Mojo Coffee House and the Kolaches Kitchen occupy the other three corners of the intersection.
From here you can walk to Tulane & Loyola Universities and the historic St. Charles Avenue, which intersects Valence, a few blocks south.
The Big Easy staples, such as the French Quarter, Frenchmen St., and the Convention Center are 15 mins away by car and also easily reachable by the historic St. Charles Avenue Streetcar.
Freret is also walking distance from the Audubon and Uptown neighborhoods— all areas rich with beauty, history, and wonderful architecture.
