Peaceful location
The large property is very nice with great views and peaceful solitude. There were several issues we encountered. Road not cleared: There were 12 inches of snow before we arrived. We attempted to drive the road but got stuck. We had to park our car in town for the week as it would not make the road to the house. We stopped a neighbor and he agreed to drive us up to the house with our luggage. He made 2 trips. His 4 wheel drive in low gear struggled. When I advised the owner of this situation, the only response was “Welcome”. My family was showing up the next day. We found a phone number in the pantry for someone to plow. He couldn’t make it for a few hours so I found the keys and the on-site snow plow and plowed the road myself. Even with the road plowed it was a struggle to make the half mile drive. There were also 6-12 inches of snow on the sidewalks, patios and steps. We removed that as well. Food restrictions: Since there is no close grocery store, we purchased all groceries for the week prior to arrival. When we arrived there was a note in the kitchen stating no cooking of meat. Fish ok. There was no mention of this restriction prior to arrival. Sleeping arrangements: The listing states 2 beds are in a loft but fails to mention you will have to climb a 10 foot ladder for access. Thermostats: They are all set on 68 with a note on each stating “Please Do Not Touch”. Most of the rooms were too hot especially when the sun shined in.

My Mission:
Why it is so necessary to experience even just for a week, day or two or in my case to live year round in Nature. To build a home from Nature in this environment. To teach my children how to understand the ever changing elements of world views from this advantage point.

Why they chose this property

Experience the Majesty of Nature:
My home is constructed on 150 acres of rural mountain. Embracing the finer trails the native people set upon 100 years before. Trails that lead us into meadows covered in wild flowers, Aspens, and even A Spring. To make friend with her finest landlords not only the four legged the winged ones but also the stones, mushrooms, lichen and moss. Butterscotch row invites us to an ancient forest of Elders over 300 years old with eccentric shapes and forms and why butterscotch row because these tress smell of Butterscotch!

Back to the house we travel into a "AHHA Awe" moment entering into a home of freshly backed recipes on an old Williams Sonoma Garland my Mother in-law gifted me. As I sit in my yoga room and meditate on the Views with them guiding me to feel peaceful!

Peaceful sleep and relaxation without unnecessary noise leads me to share creativity and stillness to learn. Drinking, bathing in fresh water from the well I can recognize the no plastic recycling law of integrity and confront any laziness that takes me elsewhere.

The home is prepared with a plow and shovels for the most difficult of weather.

I welcome this home to share as it is part of my offering and invite you to come and lend me your expertise and respect to enjoy. Self care keeps in in alignment with self reliance and I take it slowly with a NO RUSH attitude.

We are in gratitude to build you into our Community here in Gold Hill. Keeping the house clean and honoring nature is my gift to you to do the same!
