About this property

PS ElCamino: Palm Springs Style and The Outdoor Life

Welcome to PS El Camino. A charming mid-century find in the Rancho Vista Estates neighborhood in Palm Springs. Offering 3 bedrooms plus a bonus playroom and backyard packed with amenities, this will delight you from arrival to departure. This well-appointed home features all the charm and mid-century highlights a traveler to Palm Springs expects, but offers the modern comforts a traveler needs. It's always a favorite on the annual Modernism Neighborhood tours.

Entering the home, you’ll notice the larger living room to your left. It’s bright with ample seating for your entire group. To your right, a great kitchen flows into the dining area, and beyond that is a delightful room for daytime activities. The playroom offers board games, cozy seating, a TV for movie nights and more. It also offers direct access to the pool.

The bedrooms are along the back side of the house and the primary suite is separated offering great privacy. The two guest rooms are to the left on the West side of the house. The primary is on the East side of the hallway. Each bedroom offers a TV for guiltless binge watching. There’s a bathroom in the hallway for the 2 guest rooms while the primary is en-suite.

Primary: King Bed, TV, En-Suite Bathroom (Step-In Shower)
Guest Room 1: King bed, TV
Guest Room 2: Queen Bed, TV
Guest Hallway Bathroom: Shower/Tub Combo

The backyard delights from one end to the other. Seating is comfortable. Dining is ample for 4-8. One of the dining tables converts quickly to a ping pong table. There’s also a firepit and an outdoor shower. All of this is only eclipsed by great mountain views and stunning sunsets. A refreshing pool and hot tub is standing by for you and your guests.

This gorgeous vacation rental is a short drive to downtown Palm Springs, with its many bars, shops, restaurants, and art galleries. Other Palm Springs attractions are similarly a short drive away, from area casinos and gambling to world renowned spa resorts, tennis, golfing, and the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. Joshua Tree National Park is about an hour away and even Big Bear skiing is worth the drive for a day trip. East of the runways, airport noise well-minimized.

El Rancho Vista Estates is a premier neighborhood of Palm Springs. It is rich with architecture and history being the first of the Wexler & Harrison residential subdivision. It should be noted this neighborhood (and the City, too) has sound ordinances that are strictly enforced. The owner(s) like to stress this home is ideal for a dream vacation and relaxation but is by no means a “party-central” home. Each guest is expected to be as good a neighbor as the owner(s) themselves. Special events like weddings are not allowed.

Amazing home!
We absolutely loved our stay at this home!! It is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The backyard oasis was gorgeous and relaxing. Home is in close proximity to everything!! Several grocery stores, shopping, downtown PS, tramway, highways and airport were all within minutes. Property management is extremely friendly and attentive. We will be back to stay at this house! We talk about it often and cannot wait to hang in that backyard again! This home is a MUST stay!

We Loved It
Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We are a family with two kids, 6 and 8, and we loved this property. There is such attention to detail paid to the decor and artwork. Everywhere you look is some new visual treat. The kids of course were crazy for the beautiful pool. They are both strong swimmers and water safety aware. Note that this would not be a safe property for children who are not similarly equipped. Great base for various adventures and unusually well-equipped kitchen for a vacation property. Awesome!

Beautiful neighborhood and views, but the home fell short of a quality experience.
This is a gorgeous neighborhood, with stunning views. And our liaison, Stephen, was extremely helpful and responsive to the best of his ability with even asking to stop and help with some of the property’s malfunctions and offer a gift card to a local restaurant the last day of our stay. But there were several unfortunate events that made us regretful for choosing this home. While we are aware the weather is out of anyone’s control, there were just too many disruptions to our vacation time, including a full morning of water streaming from the bathroom skylight, soaked bedroom flooring, and a pool filter/heater system that was in the fritz 3/4 days of our stay not making it available for our family to use even on the weather accommodating days. The home was also not necessarily as clean as one would expect for a nightly rate at this amount. The rugs are dirty and stained, bathroom tile cracked, and we opened the oven to find used/dirty pans from a previous guest and dirty kitchen drawers. The disposal and sink had a constant smell and it’s obvious the home was once lived in by a smoker with stale cigarette undertones. In all, we regret staying in this home for our family vacation and even attempted to find another place the last night we stayed. The home is midcentury fun and provides a fun glimpse into the original architectural design and flare Palm Springs embodies, but we just had way too many frustrations caused by it to feel like this was a worthy vacation investment.
