Lake Tomahawk Getaway | Pets & 3 Min. to Town!

Your mountain vacation just got sweeter at Lake Tomahawk Getaway! The main level of this charming cottage offers an open concept kitchen with breakfast bar seating for 2, dining for 4, and a living room with a gas logs fireplace. A laundry room is also located on the main level. On the lower level, the cozy seating and 58" television with streaming provide a comfortable and open bonus space. There is also a full bathroom on this level. Upstairs is the primary bedroom with queen size bed and en suite bathroom, a bedroom with a full-size bed, a full bathroom with hallway access only, and the third room with a private, dedicated workstation with high-speed internet that makes working remotely a breeze.

Outside, you'll find a fire pit area with seating for 4, a gas grill, a covered dining area, and a fenced yard so your pups can roam safely. In the morning, sleep in and enjoy your coffee on the covered front porch before taking a leisurely stroll into The Little Town that Rocks, Black Mountain, a mere 3-minute drive or 15-minute walk away. Known as the Front Porch of Western North Carolina,? you'll spot the iconic red rocking chairs throughout this treasured small town that stand as your reminder to slow down, pull up a chair, and relax. Enjoy cold craft beer & ridiculously great fried chicken at Black Mountain Kitchen + Ale House, or have a late brunch of grit cakes topped with local greens and homemade srirancho sauce paired with a rotating mega-mosa served in a mason jar on the open-air wraparound porch of local favorite, Louise's Kitchen.

On the days you're seeking a bustling & high-energy experience, travel to the eccentric city of Asheville just 22 minutes away. Both Black Mountain and Asheville offer a number of art galleries, upscale boutiques, novelty shops, and award-winning breweries guaranteed to keep you entertained for hours on end. On your way back into town, stop by Lake Tomahawk a block away from the home to catch an epic sunset over the Seven Sisters Mountain Range and glistening lake. Be sure to check out the sign located on the path to see if you can spot all "Seven Sisters." If you visit the park during the day, be sure to pack a picnic to enjoy alongside the water while you watch the ducks bathing, or take time to play a round of tennis and walk the elliptical path that surrounds the lake. Ideal for a group getaway with friends or family, this cozy & contemporary pet-friendly cottage is centrally located in town within a block of Lake Tomahawk, which lends its name, and offers unparalleled comfort and convenience!

Perfect spot
Loved the location. Close to everything. Super quiet. Loved the welcome popcorn and toiletries provided. Could have used more furniture for sitting. Maybe if you have a tight budget, throw some beanbag chairs in there? Nice fireplace and back and front patio areas. Thank you for a great and memorable stay.

Tomahawk Getaway
Overall, a decent place to stay for a weekend. Fairly secluded place that is within walking distance to a nice lake and restaurants nearby.

great house great location
We loved the property-if I was going to suggest anything it would be to buy new cushions for front porch chairs and upgrade the main floor sitting area furniture to something more comfortable. We especially appreciated the air mattress so that we could use the third bedroom for sleeping.

A Week Away
We had a wonderful time at this rental. The property had everything we were looking for: very pet friendly, clean, walking distance to lake and downtown, working Wi-Fi, porches, etc. Our only suggestion is to include fans in the upstairs. The AC works beautifully downstairs, but it can’t quite cool the bedrooms well enough. Thank you for a wonderful week in the mountains.

Clean & excellent location
Loved the location and layout of this house. The fenced in yard, outdoor seating and super easy access to the lake & downtown made our stay great. The house itself is nice but could use some furniture updates. The beds were small & there isn’t a full sized couch in either living space.

Greybeard Rentals manages vacation rentals and vacation cabins in Asheville, Black Mountain, Montreat, Old Fort and surrounding areas. Located 10-15 minutes from downtown Asheville, Black Mountain is a quaint town with many great shopping options, delicious restaurants, breweries and access to hiking trails and wilderness areas. TripAdvisor named Black Mountain one of America's Prettiest Towns in 2017. Asheville is home to award-winning restaurants, stunning mountain views with access to areas like the Blue Ridge Parkway, The Biltmore Estate, and a variety of local art and culture. Oh, and did we mention Asheville has had the record for having more breweries per capita than any other U.S. city? We held the title for Beer City USA in 2009. Hiking trails are also located throughout western North Carolina.
