About this property
Rustic Rest Log Cabin, with hot tub and stream, near Poconos attractions.
Welcome to Rustic Rest, an authentic 1939 log cabin offering the ultimate four-season Pocono Mountains retreat. This uniquely furnished, fully stocked cabin blends a relaxing forest setting with a welcoming, pet-friendly atmosphere with no pet fee. Sleeps couples or families, with a 6-person hot tub, fireplace, wood stove, game loft, and private creek access. Located on Marshalls Creek Road, you’ll have convenient, direct access to East Stroudsburg, Shawnee, Camelback, Jim Thorpe, the Delaware Water Gap, and most Poconos attractions.
Interior tour available here: http://bit.ly/49LJpZH
Two branches of Marshalls Creek flow through the property with over 350 feet of stream frontage. The creek has good populations of brown, brook and rainbow trout year-round. In addition, we are within a short drive from blue ribbon trout streams such as the Brodhead, Bushkill, Big Pocono, McMichaels and more.
We have three bedrooms with a double, queen and king beds and an additional sleeping area in the loft, which overlooks the living room and offers a futon bed and a twin bed with a trundle. This space makes a wonderful reading area and/or fourth bedroom. An old time arcade machine (Space Invaders!) and Atari console are available.
Fresh linens and towels are provided for every guest.
Our washer & dryer are there for your use during your stay. We provide laundry detergent & dryer sheets/dryer balls. To protect our well and conserve water, please limit laundry to two loads per day.
The kitchen is fully stocked so you can cook like you’re at home. We have both a drip coffee maker and Keurig. We provide ground coffee, K‑cups, sugar, creamer, and sweeteners so you can start your morning your way. A Culligan water cooler supplies unlimited filtered water—cold or hot. We also supply quality cookware, dinnerware, utensils, a selection of spices and pantry basics.
The upstairs bathroom features a clawfoot bathtub.
A wood-burning fireplace in the living room and a wood-burning stove on the enclosed back porch help chase away the chill.
You can enjoy the hot tub any time of day—and it's open year-round. A towel warmer inside the back porch, just steps from the 6-person hot tub, is available for your comfort.
Spotlights light up the Woods of Wisdom in the backyard. A flowing creek, picnic tables, fire pit, and hammocks with several seating areas make spending time outdoors a delight.
We provide wood for the fireplace, wood stove and fire pit and also provide propane for the grill.
We are located right off of US Route 209 (Milford Rd) in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, very close to waterfalls, Delaware Water Gap, skiing and many awesome attractions. Spend your entire stay at Rustic Rest or explore the area's attractions.
Easy, paved access Level gravel driveway and the cabin sit about 50 yards off Marshalls Creek Road. You’ll have straightforward paved access—no steep dirt roads or narrow wooden bridges to worry about. sitThe neighborhood is a friendly cluster of cabins, so you get woodland privacy without being completely isolated. You may hear vehicle noise, particularly during commuter hour, since this is a local route; most guests are not bothered by this occasional road noise, but we want to be upfront for anyone seeking total wilderness silence.
Neighboring cabins The cabin sits on 1.2 acres and within sight of four or five other cabins, including one active VRBO rental. You may occasionally hear activity from nearby properties.
Because our log cabin is rustic and located in the woods, you may encounter wildlife including insects, mice, (flying) squirrels, bats, snakes, raccoons, deer, and bears. If this bothers you, our cabin might not be the right fit for you.
We love dogs and welcome them, but the yard is not fenced. There’s plenty of space on our property to explore.
Note for those with allergies. Our cleaners do a thorough job between stays, but because we’re pet‑friendly, guests with allergies should keep that in mind before booking.
Gathering around the fire pit is a favorite. Outdoor wood fires are subject to state and county rules and seasonal burn bans; if a ban is in effect, the fire pit must remain unused.
Safety Devices: We have five security cameras located on the property. One faces the front walk and lower part of the driveway. One faces the garage and the upper driveway. One faces the house. One faces the stream on the far side of the house to monitor the water level. The last camera is in the lean-to. They will be on.
No smoking or vaping is allowed inside the cabin or while sitting in the hot tub. If you need to smoke or vape, please smoke well away from the front and rear doors. Also, please dispose of your smoking materials responsibly. Thank you!

It was fantastic, exceeded our expectations. It is truly a unique property, both inside and out. I have stayed in many VRBOs, but never at a property so well stocked with everything you need. Hot tub was so relaxing after a long day of hiking. The only complaint I have was it was too relaxing sitting outside by the stream, it made leaving difficult. Thank you for sharing your property with me and my family.
The cabin is absolutely gorgeous. Every corner of the place is thoughtfully executed. The managers/owners stayed in touch throughout our stay and were very helpful. Our family really relaxed here. It was lovely.
Just what we needed for a long weekend of R&R. The cabin is clean and has very thing you need. The wood stove was perfect for the cold weekend. We will definitely be back. Lori, the host, is the best!
Absolutely amazing house / property. Our family visited during January and it was perfect for outdoor snow adventures. Our kids loved exploring the back yard (which was magical), and we especially enjoyed making log fires.
It was wonderful! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth. We settled quickly into the comfort and charm of the cabin. The grounds were beautiful. The property manager was fast to clear the snow after the blizzard. We will definitely be back.
Such a relaxing long weekend, just what we were looking for. There was nothing that we needed to run out to go pick up, everything we needed was right there.
Great house with awesome yard for relaxing. Only thing is 4 bedroom is actually just a loft. Equipped with almost anything you need. Just light a fire and listen to the creek
Landscape has hot tub, firepit and wonderful babbling brook. Seating and hammocks in yard so you have a great choice of where you want to sit to view nature.
Rustic rest is absolutely magical. We arrived to twinkling lights, a Christmas tree, a warm home and fell in love right away. The cabin is so welcoming and every detail is perfect. We were welcomed with puppy and human treats and even our party’s names written on the chalkboard! The rooms were warm, the beds extremely comfortable and the bathrooms spotless. The property owners checked in continually and made sure we were enjoying our stay. I cooked a wonderful birthday dinner for our daughter, we explored the creek on property, played in the snow, and we all enjoyed the hot tub. We can’t wait to come back. What a truly enchanting stay.
Last minute decision- was a great decision to spend our 31st anniversary w our 2 golden retrievers. They loved the creek and we loved the memories we made. Very relaxing and beautiful home. Will be going back!
Our family were looking for a place just to unwind and relax and I must say that Rustic Rest certainly provided that. We liked that it was a genuine log cabin, that was cool, loved that the kitchen was fully equipped with everything that we needed, Lori communicated with us throughout our trip, thank you, looking forward to our next visit.
Had a great time watching movies in the cabin, morning coffee outside by the stream, the kids loved the hot tub. Lots to do, hiking, fishing, exploring etc.
My husband and I were looking for a place to spend a weekend getaway in the Poconos and are so happy to have found Rustic Rest. Owners were easy to communicate with. The cabin is out of a story book- lovely and thoughtfully decorated and well-appointed. The hot tub was sparkling clean and welcome on chilly evenings. The grounds are breathtaking. We can't wait to stay again!
Absolutely gorgeous property, with one of the best yards any of us have ever seen. Close to town, hiking trails, and highways, but felt private and so peaceful. We were a group of writing friends using a long weekend as a mini retreat to get some work done, and had a wonderful stay. We hope to return as soon as life lets us!
