The Red Door Cottage! The Red Door Cottage is located among the clean air and the tall pine trees in the quant little mountain town of Twain Harte. The cottage is just a 5-minute stroll to downtown Twain Harte where you can enjoy a wonderful meal, have a cold glass of beer or some wine, play miniature golf, and grab an ice cream cone. The Red Door Cottage has two bedrooms each with queen size beds, a leather couch that folds out into a queen bed and another sofa with a full size foldout, making for a very comfortable stay for 2-3 couples or a family with kids.

The deck is the perfect place to relax and enjoy a warm cup of coffee, sip some wine, read a book, or dine al fresco all the while taking in the beautiful mountain views.

The Cottage has a warm country house feel to it that makes it cozy and comfortable. You will feel relaxed the moment you walk in the red door. The county kitchen has an a retro stove, wooden counter tops, and everything needed to cook a delicious meal. The large living room area is spacious enough to comfortably seat all your family and friends. You can gather around the large dining room table and play some of the many games provided. There is a pellet stove to keep you warm during the winter months. A large screen Roku TV with Hulu, Disney, Amazon Video and Philo is available for your viewing pleasure.

The Red Door Cottage is located 15 minutes from Sonora, a short 15-20 minute drive to Pinecrest Lake, and not far from Leland Meadows Snow Park, Dodge Ridge Ski Park, and Black Oak Casino which includes an arcade and bowling alley for the whole family to enjoy.

Right size cottage for a small family!

We stayed in the cabin during our ski trip to Dodge Ridge. Brian kept it very clean and equipped with everything needed for a short stay. Check-in process and instructions were very helpful and precise. Perfect location to walk to close by restaurants for dinner and grocery. I only had issue with upstairs there are lot of smalls doors/openings around the walls which open to the attic/empty space and some of them aren't locked. I would request to add some locking mechanism for the family with younger children. Thanks Brian!

Looks can be deceiving: A very dusty place, a looks like a dream, but is actually a nightmare

The place looks beautiful online and had great reviews. I booked a whole week and moved some things in noticing it smelled dusty/dirty. I began to get a headache and my sinuses began to swell. I noticed layers of dust on top of ceiling fans and other spaces. I could not stay and was only refunded half my costs. The owners are kind and the area is beautiful. I usually don’t write reviews, but if you have any allergies to dust, don’t stay here as you will just waste your money like I did. Looks can be deceiving.

Birthday + snow weekend

It was a very cozy cabin and loved the area! We were able to celebrate my daughter 18 birthday and spend the day at the snow. Had great wifi, the kitchen had everything we needed. Unfortunately we weren’t able to use the back and balcony because of weather purposes but it looked lovely outside. Had AC the bathroom had towels shampoo and more. We will definitely book again. The only thing would be needing a new stove. But it was a perfect weekend:) 10/10

We are Brian and Michele Chandler the owners of the Red Door Cottage. We love our cabin and enjoy using it to get away and relax. The area is wonderful with lost of activities for adults and children. Our place is a 5 minute walk to downtown Twain Harte where you can shop, eat, play miniature golf, or grad an ice cream cone. We are 10 minutes from Black Oak Casino, 20 minutes from Pinecrest Lake and Dodge Ridge Ski area, and 30 minutes from snow play tubing area. Come get away from it all and enjoy our comfortable place.
