About this property

Iconic Colorado Experience with Mountain View & Sauna on 43 Acres

Welcome to your historic mountain retreat at Eagle Ridge!

The cabin is a stunning 360 sq ft handcrafted woodwork home situated on a gated 43-acre estate with access to private walking trails and panoramic views of Pikes Peak that will take your breath away.

The peaceful and quiet atmosphere of the cabin instantly enables one to forget about the busyness of life and rest and/or focus on a birthday, anniversary, or personal retreat. It is also a perfect home base for excursions in the area.

The space
Escape to the mountains of Colorado and experience the ultimate combination of modern and rustic in this cozy cabin retreat. Built in the 1890's with 12" thick walls, this delightful space will transport you back in time with its beautiful, handcrafted woodwork.

With a spacious covered patio and access to private walking trails through picturesque forest and meadows, this place has everything you need for a peaceful and rejuvenating vacation, retreat or romantic getaway.

Enjoy the mountain view with a restored pioneer covered wagon in the foreground. The wheels and axels are original from the late 1800's, but the box has been restored so you can pose for pictures with Pikes Peak as a backdrop.

Enjoy observing wildlife in their natural habitat, including deer, owls, rabbits, and a variety of birds, with occasional elk sightings.

While sipping coffee, tea or wine in the Adirondack rocking chairs on the covered patio, witness breathtaking views of double rainbows, radiant sunrises, and /or lingering evening alpenglow on Pikes peak, America’s most visited mountain.

While enjoying the view, feel the warmth of a fire in the fire pit, relax in the cedar barrel sauna, or play an unforgettable game of horseshoes!

Moving inside, the quartz counter-topped kitchen is fully equipped including items such as a reverse osmosis water filter, gas stove, oven, microwave, full sized fridge, Nespresso coffee maker, dishes, utensils and pots and pans needed for preparing delicious meals. In addition, the BBQ grill is available year-round.

In addition to the queen captains' bed, a sofa/futon bed folds out to a comfortable full-size mattress that can sleep 1 adult or 2 children. Rest your head on premium hotel grade pillows: your choice of goose down feather pillows or non-feather pillows.

For your comfort, protection and as a sign of outstanding cleanliness, all beds are prepared with quality linens, clean ironed sheets, down duvets, freshly laundered duvet covers and bedspreads, mattress protectors and pillow protectors.

If you like your mattress extra soft, we have a mattress topper available upon request.

The smart TV provides access to 100's of internet TV channels and apps like YouTube, with the option to add your own account credentials for account-based apps like Netflix. Alternatively, you can simply screen share from your laptop or phone.

The many large windows provide refreshing ventilation on warm summer days. Evenings in the summer are rarely over 60F and daytime highs are usually mid 70's and rarely hit 80F. This is the perfect retreat from the summer heat.

Fall and winter are exceptional times at the cabin with brilliant autumn colors and scenic winter snowscapes outside and a warm romantic atmosphere inside. Enjoy Thanksgiving and Christmas decorations throughout November and December.

There is beautiful snowfall in the winter months. All roads to and on the property are well maintained and plowed to ensure easy passage with your two-wheel or four-wheel drive vehicle.

After you make your reservation, we will make available to you our tour guidebook. In the book there are over 50 attractions in the area, including restaurants, outdoor adventures, tourist stops, parks and driving tours. Most of these attractions are available all year round. During ski season, you can enjoy an early breakfast at the cabin, leave at 7:30 and be at the Breckenridge ski area when they open for a day of skiing.

This independent short-term rental cabin is ideal for honeymoons, anniversaries, and birthday getaways. It has its own parking area, and entrance, ensuring your privacy throughout your stay. And with access to private walking trails through the forest and meadows, you can immerse yourself in the natural beauty of Colorado without ever leaving the property. Book your stay today and experience the ultimate mountain getaway!

Guests have full access to the entire cabin and 43 acres of forest and meadows. If you plan to arrive on the same day you book, please confirm the check-in time with us.

Absolutely Fabulous!
My friend and I stayed in The Cabin for 10 days. We used both the bed and the futon in The Cabin. Both were very comfortable and, even with the futon out, we had plenty of room to move around. The hosts thought of EVERYTHING! We are both tea drinkers and they had a fabulous selection! Exceptionally clean outside and inside too! The property itself is AMAZING! Well kept, exceptional view of Pike's Peak, and full of animal life! It was enjoyable to get up every day and opening all the curtains to look outside at the mountains and nature in their yard. Conveniently located to Colorado Springs, Cripple Creek, Florrisant, Manitou Springs, Pike's Peak, and more, it was, literally, the perfect place to stay. Thank you so much for having such an amazing VRBO rental. I would recommend it to all!

Perfect summer get away
We loved our stay here. We’ll equipped kitchen allowed us to prepare meals to enjoy while taking in the fabulous view. Local grocery store has good variety of the essentials. I love that the cabin has rocks on the roof like a alpine home. Sitting on the front porch at night overlooking the mountains and valley was very reminiscent of sitting out on the porch when we were in Lauterbrunnen. So peaceful. It was 96 degrees in Denver and Colorado Springs during our stay but much cooler here. AC not needed. Perfect for a couple. Would recommend to family and friends.

About the host

Hosted by Mark & Renee Oostra

Host profile image
Your hosts, Mark & Renee, have enjoyed traveling the USA and Europe and want to provide an unforgettable vacation rental experience to others.

We live near the cabin on the property, so if you have any questions, we are nearby. However, if you are looking for privacy, our self check-in and checkout allow you to come and go as you please.

Why they chose this property

This property was part of the historic Colorado Ranch where cattle came up during the summer for the nutritious high elevation grass. The cabin is located at 9150 feet above sea level.

The cabin was built in the 1890's. It has the charm of a cozy old cabin, but has been modernized with all the amenities needed for today's living. The 360 square foot cabin feels spacious because every square inch has been used very efficiently.

The property is gated and secure. It has 43 acres of meadows, forest and trails to enjoy.

What makes this property unique

You will feel like you are away from civilization, but if you need groceries, gas or a restaurant, those amenities are only a mile away.

The cabin and property provide peace & quiet and privacy.

The property has wildlife visiting daily. The most common wildlife are deer who wander around the cabin eating the grass. Elk visit the property often but usually at night and are gone in the morning. The forest has many birds and a few squirrels to provide additional entertainment while walking the private trails.
