Idyllic for a couple or solo travelers who appreciate quality .Our historical, 19th-century comfortable waterfront house is located in the heart of Rockport directly on Rockport's peaceful Old Harbor. Exposed beams and hardwood floors throughout with incredible panoramic views of Sandy Bay and Rockports tranquil Old Harbour. The living room, dining room and deck all face the water. You are as close as you can get to the sea. This historical property was the old customs house at the turn of the century. Ships stopped at the wharf across the bay to clear customs here. Original beams and floors are lovingly maintained.
Savour spectacular sunsets and ocean breezes from our 2nd floor home. One queen bedroom, full bath, well equipped kitchen complete this idyllic pied a terre. Rockport galleries, shops, and restaurants, are all within walking distance in the heart of Rockport's bustling Cultural District. Enjoy your coffee on our harbor front perch.View the panorama of seaside comings and goings, the quaint buildings on Bearskin Neck and Motif #1 along with the boating activities of Rockports Old Harbor. You can launch your kayak from our seaside property. Across the bay, hear the music of the Sunday summer evening's concerts .We are just a minute walk from Rockport’s stunning Shalin Liu Performance Center and The Rockport Art Assn.
The commuter train to Boston is a 10 minute walk. Back and Front beach are only a short walk from our home.
Logan airport is an hour away.
If you are looking for a lovely vacation by the sea directly on the water we look forward to sharing our artful pied a terre with you.

Magical

Extremely comfortable, cute, and nice place, with magical views of harbor and even picaboo view of motif#1. Wrap around windows with amazing breeze. Nice cozy deck. Coffee shop below was a twice a day visit. Hosts were so polite and responsive. We look forward to coming back someday

Great spot in a little beachside village! Property is a nice little spot. Parking is a bit difficult to find depending on the day/time you arrive. Hosts very nice!

Gorgeous spot!

This is an absolutely beautiful, charming, and spacious apartment in an outstanding location - right in Bearskin Neck with views of the harbor. Light sleepers will want earplugs for when the cafe comes to life early in the morning, but everything else was terrific!

Great view and location

We came to Rockport for a long weekend. The place was very comfortable with an amazing view of the harbor and a perfect location. Note that it is over a cafe as mentioned in other reviews (early 6am wake-up) which didn’t bother us much. We enjoyed the close access to the cafe for breakfast and snacks.

We had a wonderful time. Excellent property for a viewing the boats in the harbor, people on the beaches and the beautiful sunsets.. Close to shopping and dining.

Exceptional location and view

We loved everything about our stay at the Waterfront apt. With views of the water on three sides and the most spectacular sunsets, we couldn't have asked for a better location. The apartment is cozy and tasteful, and is located near all the shops and many restaurants, for easy strolling and dining.

charming apartment in historic Rockport convenient to everything. Renters should be aware that air conditioning is minimal and parking more challenging than expected. Those issues aside, great spot to enjoy town and explore the area.

Cozy apartment. Nothing left to want or need. Perfect for two. Kitchen set up well for eating in and preparing meals; but with so many wonderful restaurants in walking distance, you have options. Living above a cafe

The rental is a loft (not an apartment) reached via 3 flights of a rickety, outdoor staircase. Music, conversation, and coffee making sounds from the cafe directly below fill the living space from 7a.m. to 7 p.m. Tourists congregate at the bottom of the stairs day and night, and long lines form to an ice cream store adjacent to the staircase. The street is crowded and noisy. We rented for 2 weeks, stayed for only one (not reimbursed). Perhaps this location would appeal to teenagers.

relaxing summer vacation

We enjoyed our stay in Rockport. The apartment was just the right size for us and enjoyed all the amenities included.The views were beautiful to look out onto the harbor or to sit and watch the passerbys getting ice cream at the shop next door. We used the beach chairs on one of our day trips to Crane Beach. When the temps were in the 90's the water temperature of 61 felt great! Rockport was a great location for different day trips throughout the week. A train to Boston to enjoy the Freedom Trail , Duck Boat tour and enjoy the history. Another day to explore Salem and Marblehead. For restaurants we loved the Clam Box in Ipswich or Roy Moore's in Rockport for lobster or Clam Chowder. We have already recommended this place to friends interested in coming out to Boston next year!

Delightful Apartment on the Water

We really enjoyed our stay at this apartment on Bearskin Neck. It’s right on the water and was nice to sit on the porch at night—we were able to see the stars despite the lights at neighboring buildings. The apartment itself was well decorated, comfortable, and clean. I should note that you definitely hear the business downstairs while it’s open but this didn’t bother us. We were out seeing the sites during the day anyway. It’s surprising how quiet it gets after the nearby businesses close.

Beautiful, Quaint, Perfection!

We are so grateful to have stumbled upon Peggy and John’s amazing place. It was perfect for the 2 of us. The views are spectacular! The apt was loaded with every thing you could possibly need. There was a cute, little coffee shop right below us that served us our fave brew bright and early. Walk to a cute town beach. Every thing is walkable and we parked our car 2 minutes away. We can’t wait to return.

Right in the center of things. Very close to the water. Believe the other reviews that it is very noisy due to its location over a coffee house, although that didn't bother us.

Convenient location, waterfront bliss!

Nestled in the heart of old Harbour, Rockport is this little gem. My husband and I stayed for five days to get away from the humdrum of our normal life. We were a walk away from everything we could need- including the beach, shopping, and some excellent restaurants. Peggy’s apartment is well appointed with phenomenal views. Makes you want to live at the shore permanently. We will be back !

We are an active retired couple who have lived in Rockport for many decades. We enjoy family,kayaking, sailing,gardening and traveling. When traveling often we share our lovely historic home in the heart of Rockport consistently rated one of New Englands best seaside villages.

We purchased this property for it's beautiful waterfront location directly on Rockport's hidden gem the Old Harbour. This is our home some of the year and folks do love the excellent location when staying here while we’re traveling.

The setting amidst quaint Bearskin Neck is spectacular in Rockport's Cultural District. The property is directly on The Old Harbor and offers panoramic views and is within walking distance to many of the attractions in Rockport. You are beachside here and can enjoy our small private beach or walk a few minutes to the larger public beach. Our guests love the location of this property on quaint Bearskin Neck. A perfect perchfor a dose of Vitamin Sea.
