About this property

This house was designed and built just for your perfect getaway. The space mocks a tiny house, but with a larger footprint. It's nestled high up on our family land with hundreds of acres of pure nature surrounding, you can see three different states, the ski slopes and a perfect sunset every single night right in front of you! The main floor has a super cozy living, dining and kitchen followed by the bathroom and bedroom with a king-sized bed. The upstairs is a children's loft with 3 single beds.

We are conveniently located about 15 minutes to Boone, 20 minutes to Blowing Rock and 20 minutes to West Jefferson. Our location gives you direct access to all of the outdoor activities the High Country has to offer.

Mountain weather can sometimes be extreme, please be prepared and also during snowy weather you will need a 4x4.

Please note that there are 4 total cabins clustered together here on our property. All of which are vacation rentals that belong to our family.

Pets are absolutely not allowed at this property. Smoking inside is not allowed either. Violators will be fined $100

The place a super clean and cute (there were a lot of dead flies around). The games (Risk is missing the dices though) and Netflix were a nice touch! A more accurate description of the journey to the house would have been appreciated. The address listed is NOT the real house location. I wish the seller would have sent the information to me a day before because having to remember to contact was forgotten and we sat at the wrong location for 30 mins trying to get in…. Go to the grocery store BEFORE going to the house! You are not going to want to climb back down the mountain and go 20 mins to get food after climbing up the mountain. Also the shower handle is on backwards so cold is really hot; you have to have it almost off to take a warm shower, that took some time to figure out. If you are looking for a quiet, scenic stay this is the place for you but shop before and don’t forget to contact the seller or you’ll be sitting at the wrong address waiting….

My wife and I built this property along with another one to create additional income. We met in Nicaragua and currently spend some time in the States and most of the other time still in Nicaragua doing mission work.

Why they chose this property

This unique home came from a family approach on how to use our land. Our family settled here all the way back in the 1700s where they eventually possessed over 500 acres of land, and you would be surprised to know that all of that land is still in the family being preserved and guarded. Our families favorite spot has always been the very top of the mountain where we grew up taking hay rides up to watch the most amazing sunsets. Over the years all of us siblings would joke that we were claiming the top of the mountain as our home site. Finally, back in 2019 we all came together and agreed to use the land in unity and put 4 small cabins on it. It was a large project as the land was raw, but we got it done and now we offer this unique space to you! We still to this day go up there often to watch the most amazing sunsets we have ever seen. It's a different experience every single time.

What makes this property unique

The land is surrounded by pure and raw nature. Even the drive up through the woods onto our mountain is part of the beauty and adventure! I personally hand drew the blueprints and built this cabin with my own hands. My wife and I spent many months just planning the design and space. Every single space was actually designed around the size of the furnishings in order for everything to work together in a smaller space. The wood interior shiplap walls and unique custom wood finishes throughout would be one of my favorite things. Every little detail about every space point to the views and the amazing beauty surrounding you and the interior hosts a rustic cabin, farm feel even with unique items taken from our families' farm.
